  I bought a couple of Vostro 5470 days. After that install 64 - bit of 8.1 and all Windows drivers on page of 5470 dossous, everything works well except the Nvidia GT 740 M. I tried several versions of the driver, including the Geforce official site, but none of them worked.   Hello. Recently my Vostro 5470 (i5) will not stop or restart. This problem occurs after I replaced the battery and HARD drive (and for some unknown reason, the service in my city center to replace the HARD drive with Toshiba, 7200 RPM 500 GB SATA), only one week before my warranty expires.

  So whenever I used my laptop in about an hour or more, 100% it will not turn start/stop. If I chose to stop, after - + 10 seconds turns off HARD drive, but everything remains lit (power lamp, fan, etc.). I can do force closed, but this is not normal, right. And if I decide to reboot, my laptop stops himself, just want to make a stop of the force. This also happens when I choose sleep.

  But if I use it only in about 30 minutes, there is no problem. I've done many test on the HARD drive (defragmentation, Dell SupportAssist, BIOS test, comprehensive test of the BIOS) and the results was fine no problem at all.

  FYI, I have updated the BIOS it is A11 a few months back, BUT when I discovered, there is new BIOS update September 24 to 10 Windows, but with the same version (A11 too). It could be that my current BIOS is the problem? I don't have enough guts to update, because my warranty is already over. Help, please.

  I installed the driver of fingerprints and DigitalPersona 6.2 update, in a different sequence, but still - the drive is visible in the Device Manager, but NOT visible for the connection of Windows of fingerprints or DigitalPersona.

  I searched and tried various solutions (including fingerprints etc. sensor drivers.).

  Laptop computer has restarted:

  1 Fireed power led,

  2 Powered hard drive for 2 seconds to turn it off.

  No Dell Logo, no beeps, can't go in the Bios.

  Test LCD works OK.

  Remove the module of Ram, power on and listen to beep

  Pressing the END key and power for laptop has no effect.

  Yes. I did it.

  Laptop have bios Phoenix.

  Phoenix Bios have restored the USB Flash procedure.

  This procedure to restore the BIOS:

  1. download USB flash less than 4 GB.

  2 format in FAT.

  3. get your flash update of the Dell store - xxxx.exe

  4. run cmd.exe and in the command prompt, run /writehdrfile xxxx.exe

  5 extracted copy of Bios.cap for the flash player.

  6. turn off the power to the laptop.

  Next 7,8 step may not be necessary but I did it.

  7 disconnected all perihpericals with battery and charger.

  8 disconnect the HARD drive

  9. connect the USB on the laptop on the right side.

  10 press and hold the END

  11, Pluged the power cable and the relase the END key 1 second after the power cord is in.

  12 USB led on stick flashed quickly and we see the process of recovery of the Bios on the screen.

  13. After finishing laptop restarts and worked well.

  I just got a new Dell Vostro 410, running XP Pro, to replace a 2400 Dimension 5 - years, which had been connected to my DSL ATT line via ethernet through a 2Wire 1800 HG. My laptop and two other offices (which is the replaced 2400) is connected through wireless cards or adapters. Three wireless computers came online immediately, get internet access and work very well.  All computers are running XP.

  The problem is that I can't access the Vostro or its USB printers through computers connected wirelessly that could print previously via the cable 2400. They do not appear and are accessible on the Vostro and the Vostro appears in the Working Group, but not belong to network on the other three.

  I tried to redo the Network Wizard, but I'm having no luck at all.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Hello everyone I am new to this forum and new to a y500. So I recently had the y500 it has been refurbished, but it works great execpt for a problem. When I play a game for a little while the sound mess up. It's a static sounds like when your on a television channel, you're not became any signal. its strange because when I get off the game it stops so I have no idea how to fix it or if it is a hardware or software problem.   In my view, that noise may be due to loud noises of the game or the configs of the sound card. Could you first of all check the sound of the game settings and see if it helps and then check Manager (dolby, realtek etc.)
  You can also try reinstalling the audio drivers. Download from driver lenovo download page or the drive d of your laptop.
