iTunes freezes for 30 minutes

I know there have been various reports of iTunes to different freezing points, but I have not seen a solution for my particular problem.  I was hoping it will go away (I submitted a bug report, but I have not, nor I, a reply), but it seems that my problem is limited to just me... :))

Whenever I connect an iOS device (iPhone 6 with iOS 9.2.x iPad 2 Air with iOS 9.2.x even an iPhone 4 with iOS 7 and 9.2.x), iTunes has the rotation for about 30 minutes beach ball.  After that, the device syncs properly.  While iTunes if frozen, however, I am still able to access pictures on the device using Photos or Capture of Image, so the device itself is not frozen.  Can I force quit iTunes apparently without additional problems.  If I can do something that seems to have access to the Internet (for example, achats purchases transfer, updated iOS, etc.), then iTunes will freeze again for about 30 minutes before doing what it is supposed to.  Everything seems to work, it's just this long delay which becomes really annoying.

I don't remember exactly when it started, but I think it was last year or so.  As I said, I kept thinking it's a unique thing and that he would go with the next update of iTunes, but it didn't.  I tried to reset iTunes preferences, but that did nothing.  A new user and a bookstore empty iTunes caused the problem go away, but it's not really what I wanted to do.  Any suggestions for what I can try?

When you see a beachball cursor, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

    Hello.

On 15 may, I noticed that my laptop freezes for 2-3 seconds every 10 minutes.
I use the original Windows Vista 32 bit.

I remember my firewall (Comodo) program update and Toshiba TEMPRO that day.
I tried to restore the system to the State on May 7, but the problem persists.

Is anyone else experienced this problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

What happens if you try to uninstall the firewall that you have updated? In my view, this could be the reason of this problem because with the new TEMPRO version, I have very good experience and it s faster than the old version.

Then uninstall the firewall and use CCleaner to clean the system. Maybe that's market and then you must use another firewall (Windows Firewall for example).

Need help my computer keeps freezing on me if I leave it alone for 15 minutes or I'll watch a video in full screen and when I try to close it freezes. So I do not know what to do, system restore or what? On a side note do not know if it related to the top of my sound on the icon on the taskbar icon tasks and the network displayed sometimes.

    Hi Samurai14,

If the steps provided Mick did not help, it is possible that your Windows installation is damaged. The following link has instructions on how to reinstall Windows Vista:

If after a reinstall, you still have problems with Windows freeze, it is most likely hardware related and you should contact the manufacturer of your system for further assistance.

  • Windows freezes for 5 to 10 seconds every few minutes.

After the upgrade to Win 8.1, I had some experiences with my computer freezing for 5 to 10 seconds every few minutes. Music continues to play, the cursor keeps blinking (although sometimes it freezes too) and the mouse can be moved, but try typing don't work and try to close, open, move or otherwise interact with the programs (applications office and modern) fails. Then, at the end of the gel in short, everything what has been done during freezing happens everything both. Restart breeze the trend until it starts again (sometimes hours later, other time days).

It seems to be overheating problems and SFC came clean the problem only arose recently (well that before, it happened sometimes with IE only but who stopped). I'm not running 3rd party antivirus and Defender is coming clean, and so have free McAfee scan.

My computer is a Dell XPS 1520 running Windows 8.1 update update 1.

One last note, the problem seems to occur sometimes when I use Windows built-in backup of the file system. I can't actually think any time it all started when I was not hung on the backup media, even if it persists after the disconnection. I used three different types of backup media, so I don't know if one of the drives is the cause, but I will deal with that now.

  • Adobe freezes for 3 to 5 minutes during the launch on restricted Internet users

We have the Internet restricted on some users in our society and users have problems when Adobe Reader lance and then freezes for 3 to 5 minutes, declaring not responding do not and then works.  If we unplug the Ethernet cable and launch Adobe Reader, it launches and works very well.  Can I get a list of URLS that Adobe is trying to hit so that we can give them access through the firewall, or tell me how to stop Adobe Reader to try to go to the Internet during the launch.  I already tried to disable the Protected Mode and updates revealing Adobe at no download.  I also tried to disable the enhanced security and trusted root certificates, but nothing seems to work except by giving users full Internet access, which we do not want to do.

Opening of acrobat.com in our firewall resolved the problem for limited users.

  • iPad 4 blocked mode recovery, itunes waiting for ipad

I've had my IPad for over two years now and it worked great. But yesterday it just no longer lights. I don't know weather it auto-updated or not, but it became all black. I tried to reload, but the screen remains black after hours of load. The combo of home button and lock 10 seconds also does nothing. I plugged into my Macbook so and tried Itunes. ITunes says "ITunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes. «So I press ok and restore the iPad, software is extracted and it said "Waiting for iPad...» "for a minute. The next thing is the error message ' the iPad could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4005). "I tried several times with different cables and USB ports... I don't know what to do anymore.

I'd be happy for something useful!

  • Satellite X 200 freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity

I'm tired of this problem: my laptop freezes after 15 minutes of inactivity and I can get it going again to reset. The problem was solved when I reinstall Vista, but after several months my laptop started hanging up. And my laptop is unable to install Tempro 2.0.3.

Please, help me to solve this problem and I don't want to reinstall Vista again.

    Hello

For me it sounds like that a 3rd party software application or is causing this problem because you wrote that after Vista reinstall, the problem has been resolved.

I put t know this software you have installed, but you need to remove all unnecessary applications as shareware or trial versions.
Then use CCleaner to clean the registry.
Visit the Windows update website and install all the updates that are available for your Windows.

In the worst case, you will need to reinstall Vista again. In my opinion a reinstall from time to time is normal and I have reinstall my laptop every year. So I often have good performance.

  • My Macbook Pro keeps freezing for short periods

    Hello

A new problem started with my Macbook pro in recent weeks. Initially, it was rare, but now he continues to be all a few minutes (it happened as I type this). What is happening is that my current application freezes for a few seconds, then returns to normal, and then the screen freezes. I'll expand a bit: while I'm typing this, suddenly the Safari froze and I just kept typing on, and when I use any action (like a slide four fingers), it works, but will not pass to the other window/app. After that, the kind of display of speeds upward, as it's contagious back in real time after the break (if I'm on vlc, TI video speed looks like 4 x, all the letters, I typd in pages apper as if Im typing God-speed). Then, a few seconds later, the computer will completely freeze, not to accept any user input and then resume as nothing has happened about 5 seconds later. This has happened very often now (I counted 3 times while I typed this place).

Please help me on what I should try to do to solve this problem. Initially, I thought it was a problem of RAM so I borrowed my Mac mini and inserted in my Macbook RAM. He worked as always for about a day, before returning to the State of the problem.

    Data sheet:

MacBook Pro 15 "Early 2011 model

    10.10.5 MacOS (Yosemite)

    I7 2 GHz

4 GB 1333 MHZ DDR3 RAM (replaced by 1067 MHz RAM of the Mac Mini for a day)

    Graphics Intel HD 3000 384

Any other information that you think will be useful, I'll add it.

  • SAT S1800-921 freezes after 5 minutes

This laptop freezes after 5 minutes. The only solution is to unplug the power supply. It is usually impossible for something like 20 minutes to restart the computer.
Already tried operating system sector / boot in the bios-update / reinstall.

Sometimes when I start the laptop nothing happens at all but the Green led indicating that the laptop is on.

    Anyone suggestions... Please?

    Hi people,

I don't know any virus that will prevent a computer until it has passed some time. The only thing I know to cause this behavior is overheating causing an internal thermal trigger to operate. It must then cool enough to reset before you can find. Of course the longest (and so more fresh) the laptop's left over it will eventually work before freezing.

Check that the cooling system is not obstructed in some way (dust or proximity loose papers, fabrics for furniture etc.).

    Kind regards

  • System froze for a minute while searching for a missing network drive

When, for example, browse the files in the Windows Explorer home & network is disconnected, the system tends to freeze for half a minute, as it is waiting for the sharing network address. No processes are active in the Manager of tasks (idling only), but the computer is devoid. This happens on any PC, computers cell phones not only. Does anyone know how to get rid of this behavior, or at least to shorten the waiting period?
There is a solution to disconnect network drives, but I would like to find something more simple.

    Hello

Looks like you have mapped some network drives to your operating system.
I think if you're looking for files or something like that OS trying to get permission to search or enter the network drives.
But if the network is disconnected from the operating system takes several times to see that.

I put t know if there is a solution for these issues. But try to google for more details. Maybe you about success. Please report if you find useful information

  • Tecra 8200 freezes every few minutes with the XP Pro Retail version

I've updated a Tecra 8200 with a retail version of Windows XP Pro SP2 (256 MB RAM) it was a new installation after reformatting the drive. I think I've loaded all Microsoft Windows updates and drivers from the site Web of Toshiba.
The laptop freezes for about 30 seconds every few minutes, even when you try to open a session.
Also when starting for the first time there is a constant repetitive ping of the noise, which I assume is the hanging windows startup sound. Finally, it stops and it can be used for a few minutes.

    Can someone please?

    Hello

In my opinion, you should buy more RAM. As far as I know, this unit can manage with 512 MB max. You can use PC100 256 MB (PA3069U - 1 M 25). I'm sure the spirit more RAM there are much more likely to make it work.

I hope that all hardware components are recognized and installed correctly. You can also try to check which processes are active and I advise you to stop. On this way, the processor has more power for other applications.

If you encounter this flicker, then the next troubleshooting step is to restore from a backup. If the behavior persists after the restore, then the last step is the factory restore. If after the factory restore and adding no additional content, you see always this problem, then you must make an appointment at the Genius Bar to the nearest Apple store or service provider authorized Apple to have the material examined. If the behavior goes after the factory restore, then sync again your content manually, without using the backup. It seems to me it's corrupted content in the backup.

  • 12.1.3 iTunes freezes with iPad

I'm looking for suggestions for the community to solve a problem of gel I use iTunes with my iPad 12.1.3.6 2 (IOS 9.2).

Note that iTunes works the way you want with my iPhone 4S (IOS 9.2).  I managed to all systematic synchronization operations when connecting my iPhone 4S via the USB port of my computer Windows Vista SP2 (x 64).  In other words, I can select the device icon in iTunes and this with the Panel Summary of the settings for this device.  I can select other panels from there, as well as perform back ups and synchronize.  If everything is good, when using my iPhone.

But when I connect my iPad 2 via USB and select the device icon in iTunes, the application crashes.  In other words, I can't settings panels.  In the Windows Task Manager, I see that iTunes continues to use CPU cycles - quite a bit actually, but it no longer meets its user interface. I have run it for hours to see if it takes just time - but without success. My only recourse is to stop it via the Task Manager.

    Additional details:

    1. I have reviewed "Troubleshoot problems with iTunes for Windows updates" (https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6562) and used his suggestions to reinstall iTunes - several times.  Currently, I installed iTunes64setup.exe, but have also tried iTunes6464Setup.exe.

    2. per another suggestion, that I saw in the forum, I also tried to run iTunes from an account on my computer.  ITunes hung the same way when I chose the icon of the device while my iPad is connected.  In other words, create a new account on my computer made no difference.

    3. I can launch a default backup and syncing with my iPad by invoking the File\Devices option in the menu bar.  But there are some operations that I want to run it via settings regarding photo synchronization and other signs.  As noted above, once I select the device icon, iTunes freezes and prevents me to navigate on these panels.

    4. I've been using iTunes for several years - various releases of IOS on devices - without meeting and this problem on my computer.  The problem appeared after I've upgraded iTunes to a Version compatible with IOS 9.

    5. one of the differences between my iPhone and my iPad is that I sync my computer only to the old photo library.  The iPad has so quite a few gigabytes absorbed by these photos.  The iPad has 32 GB of memory and my iPhone has 16 GB.  The latter has enough storage to accommodate my library.

Hello Felix1058, your problem sounds familiar. You've probably found AppHangB1 problems reported as the user running Vista iPad iTunes Version 12.1.3.6 works with iOS9.1?. You can find many tales of woe by clicking on the links at the bottom of this thread. In my opinion, it's a software problem without any difficulty at the user level. There are now six versions of iTunes which can not be installed under Vista, so I doubt that any fix will come from Apple.
