iTunes is no longer performs a new backup after synchronization

With the help of iTunes 12 plus 6 s iPhone

I would like to connect my iphone to my Windows PC and perform a manual synchronization every few days instead of using icloud backup or wifi sync.

Now when I connect my phone and press Sync, it performs "Steps 1-3".  In my view, that it used to take "Steps 1-5".  One of the steps has been refreshed the backup stored on the PC.

If I click 'Back Up Now' it works very well and stores a fresh backup - but I prefer the old behavior: I plug, click Sync, and in addition to the sync all apps, etc., it should perform a new backup.

Ideas?

Thank you/jim

Hi, Jim.

Thanks for the question!  I see that you want iTunes to launch a backup when you sync your iPhone 6 s more.  It is a normal behavior when your backup is enabled on your device. To get there you have to turn off iCloud backup directly on your iPhone in settings > iCloud > backup.  Once this is done iTunes backup the device on the next synchronization without having to select the manual backup option.

When you save using iCloud, you cannot simultaneously use iTunes to automatically save to your computer, but you can use iTunes to manually save to your computer.

Backup iPhone

You can always reactivate iCloud backup on the device if you want to use this option.  If you do not want to disable backup on the device, you will need to manually backup device.

Apparently, it was not a problem. The first backup period went from 11/12/11 to 12/25/11. A NEW BACKUP PERIOD JUST STARTED AUTOMATICALLY on 26/12/11. The total size of the first full backup period was 29.5 GB. not sure if it's a default size that must be reached before start a new backup set or if a certain percentage of my backup destination must be reached before creating another. Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. In fact, I like the windows backup program. I work in Technical Support and to always direct people to Acronis, Ghost, which I've used Ghost before and like that also. During the action of Thanksgiving, I started to really dig into the windows 7 backup and Restore Center and there is more to that meeting the eye and it's free and ready to go in windows 7. I really recommend people now whereas before I used to steer customers people away from him. I used to think that you cannot retrieve the system image files as you could the ghost, but you can actually mount the backup of disk management by adding a virtual hard disk in the menu Actiion. pretty slick. I like the file and cause the backup folder part is kept the older versions as well as the most recent. I thought that the system images were not additional but felt they were. other that last compression on the backup images, the built-in Windows 7 backup solution is OK by me. I just wanted to learn more by posting here. try to learn as more not to complain. Thanks for all the answers.

  • I have problems to restart of Yosemite, after power failure during the new backup, and now HD is also blocked.

I have problems to restart of Yosemite, after power failure during the new backup, and now HD is also blocked.

I tried the holding of 'command-r' and 'option' to see if the problem can be resolved or try any boot from a boot disk, my old backup, USB function start - but after a slow long process it all just stops.

There is software on my HD that I don't want to lose by simply reformatting the computer, because I am now in a different country, far from my house, which is another problem of the Apple Store, to reinstall my OS from Yosemite on the www.

  • I have a new backup disk (a disk of 5 TB of Seagate) and need help setting up with CCC!

    Hello world

I have a new backup disk (a disk of 5 TB of Seagate) and could use help setting up with CCC.

I did in the past without problem, but I want to assure you of a few things:

      1. This particular drive has software available in a folder on the disk backup (w / the PC and Mac versions). But... I intend to use this disk as an exact copy of my iMac HD; It must also be bootable.
      2. Should I format the drive with disk utility? Or load the software to the CCC on the disk and just leave their only backup software?
      3. One last question: I also have a MacBook Air, an iPad and an iPhone. I want to save them as well. Should I put them on separate partitions, I created? Or can we just one big happy family? The last is best.

One last piece of information: two computers, etc, were all backed up via Time Machine. My data the most important, photos, etc., are also saved on deposit box and/or iCloud on a regular basis.

Thanks for any suggestions or comments!

    Sally D.

Delete and partition the drive by making a separate partition for each computer. The iPad and the iPhone is useless their own partition because they back up using iTunes and would appear in the clone of the computer that you use for each save. Each partition must be the size of the current cloned drive that can leave you with additional partitions for other stuff. Then format the drive Mac OS Extended journaled. Do not install any software that came with the drive, none of this is necessary.

I use a very similar setup with a 3 TB drive. I clone my boot SSD in a single partition, my drive internal 1 Tb in a second, my Macbook to a third party, and I have a fourth partition which is currently empty, because I haven't decided what to do with it yet. I also have a 3 to Apple Time Capsule.

or if not, how can I save my phone

N ° you will lose your old backup. Backup using iTunes and backup on the computer. You will not lose the old backup if you archive it. Open iTunes preferences, click on the devices icon in the toolbar. Select the last backup, CTRL - or right-click, and then select Archive from the context menu.

Time Machine every few weeks stopped backup because it must create a new backup. 9 to on MY Cloud EX2 takes 4 full days.

Crazy to keep losing all backup dates

    Message reads

"Time Machine has conducted an audit of your backups on"WDMyCloudEX2". To improve the reliability,

Time Machine must create a new backup for you"

Click Start a new backup to create a new backup. This will remove your existing backup history. This may take several hours.

Click Back Up later to be reminded tomorrow. Time Machine won't perform backups during this period.

Is - this common, no way to stop it?

Just take a brief look at WD for 'My Cloud EX2' site, they list El Capitan as an operating system supported. Mavericks is the latest OS listed. Probably you need to contact Western Digital support.

  • Time Machine asking to create new backup, backups, but seems to work very well

Time Machine tells me that he wants to delete my backup history and create a new backup volume, but it seems to be back up files very well. I use an Apple AirPort WiFi. Must I just keep ignoring Time machine to start a new backup volume? I really don't want to lose my backup history.

    Something is not here.

When time Machine tell the backup is corrupt and he must wipe... then it can save is more to it.

That probably makes TM uses your local hard drive to a backup snapshot from the network on your Time Capsule version (or AE more USB drive) is now corrupted.

Sorry, but your history of Time Machine is now dead and lost... and just need to bury. There is rarely any great point by making a backup of the sparsebundle... but if you are adamant then for sure just copy the sparsebundle to a different location... erase the drive, and then start over... You have no choice.

  • Time machine often create new backup to improve confiability

    Hi friends.

I have a MacBook Air (11 inch, early 2014), with 256 GB. My Time Machine backups run to a central unit of Seagate NAS (2 TB) mounted inside my home network wifi. Thus, every night his running and to protect me.

Two months ago I run out of space in the macbook, so I didn't uninstall some software and move some video files to my central seagate. I get about 50 Gb and macbook becomes used 190 GB space.

Then comes a message/dialog box saying he checked my backups, and improve confiability I have to start a new Time Machine backup. I run it and do as suggested. After that I do, in July 18, 2016, apple launches the version OS X 10.11.6 (15 G 31). After I installed the new os x version, it asks me again to start the backup time machine to zero. I think it was because a few new features and/or adaptation of system and made as required. Then just web browsing, mail check and some work til today worksheet. Today (August 7, 2016), he asks again create a new backup on my mac.

I thing something is wrong. Everyone has gone through some like this and could say something about this, or know what's happening? Thanks in advance!

    Paludo,

I've never seen a message of this type.

I suggest that you do not click on anything in this message!

If you want to do something with Time Machine, select SystemPreferences-> TimeMachine and do what you want to do.

  • TimeCapsule must create a new backup... once again

Since the update to Yosemite, I was totally unable to save anything to my Time Capsule airport. Whenever I restart the process, it takes several days to make a backup and then he said: there is a problem with the backup and I have to start over. So, I worked without a backup for months.

    What should do?

Unfortunately, Time Machine has detected that your old backups are corrupt, and disk utility can't repair, so Time Machine must erase your old backups and start over with a new backup and then move forward again.

If you choose to Back Up later, then backups to happen until you click Start a new backup.

When you click on the "start new backup" button, your old corrupted backups will be deleted and Time Machine will start a new full backup of your Mac.

  • How to retrieve the long column of news from the BBC, which disappeared in FF was last updated?

Before the last update and on FF is first opened, there was a BBC News Items labeled tab just below the address bar. Clicking on this tab opens a long column of news. By clicking on one of them opened a web page describing this item. After the last update (38.0.5) this tab is gone. How can I get that back?

Hi, was it a bookmark in the bookmarks may bar? If missing the bookmarks bar, right-click in the bar of tabs - but not on a tab and tick/check bookmarks toolbar.

It may also be a lack of subscribe (RSS) button - see orders customize Firefox, buttons, and toolbars.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • How to perform a new installation while keeping the book mark, addons, etc.?

I need to perform a new installation and I would like to keep my personal information, bookmarks, etc.. I know these info are stored separately and want to use it in the new facility. How can I do?

Your personal data are stored in your profile. This folder is normally left intact when uninstalling Firefox, unless you check the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '.

Also note that most of the problems with Firefox are contained in the profile folder. You can get a fresh start while maintaining things like Favorites and passwords resetting Firefox.

  • Time Machine must create a new backup

I received the following message: Time Machine has conducted an audit of your backups on "Personal Cloud."  To improve reliability, Time Machine must create a new backup for you.  Does this mean that to maintain backups, my previous backups will be gone?   I'm basically ignoring tech.  Thank you!

Does this mean that to maintain backups, my previous backups will be gone?

    Yes.

A device third-party network attached storage (NAS) or a router is unsuitable for use with Time Machine, especially if it's your only backup. I know that's not what you want to hear. I know that Time Machine accepts the device as a backup destination. I know that the manufacturer says the device will work with Time Machine, and I also know that it usually seems to work. Except when you are trying to restore and find that you can't.

Apple has published a specification for network devices that works with Time Machine. No third party provider, AFAIK, does meet this specification. They all use the application of "Netatalk" incomplete, obsolete Apple Filing Protocol.

Apple does not endorse any device third-party network for use with Time Machine. See this support article.

Network backup, use as destination an Apple Time Capsule or an external storage device connected to another Mac or a 802.11ac AirPort base station. Only 802.11ac base stations support time Machine, not older model.

Otherwise, use Time Machine at all. There are other ways to save, although none of them are nowhere near as effective or as well integrated with OS X. I don't have a specific recommendation.

If you are determined to continue to use the device with Time Machine, your only remedy for any resulting problem is the manufacturer (who will blame Apple, neither you nor anyone else but herself.)

  • By clicking the "Open a new tab" button or "Ctrl + T" no longer opens a new tab. How to bring back this feature?

By clicking the "Open a new tab" button or "Ctrl + T" no longer opens a new tab. How to bring back this feature?
When I click, try a right-click of the mouse to open a new tab, type or use the file menu, nothing happens. However, I am able to open links in a new tab.

The Ask toolbar is originally only in versions of Firefox 3.6.13 +. Obviously something in this extension is not compatible with a Firefox security patch. Disable this extension or uninstall it.
