iTunes, sync to new computer

Recently, I had to restore my computer to factory settings and could not back up my files because my computer crashed before I had the chance to. Is there a quick and easy way to get all the music and apps to turn off my phone in my iTunes library? I tried to save, but only a few of my songs imported in my library. Any ideas?

    Hello

My current setup is a macbook with an external hard drive to the iTunes library. I just bought a new Macbook Pro and am about to transfer my library from anywhere on my new computer. I have a very large iTunes library and I would like to be able to access it from my laptop, iPhone and iPad using Plex, Sonos or similar to primarily play music around my house. I won't have my Macbook Pro on all the time to play the music.

Rather than copy my iTunes through library to my new Macbook Pro, I intend to:

1 copy my current iTunes library to a NAS drive

    2. set the destination folder to iTunes on my new MacBook Pro on the NAS drive

What is the correct procedure? Are there problems that? Does anyone have suggestions better?

Drag the iTunes folder everything from the old computer to the NAS. Launch iTunes on the new computer while holding down the option/alt key and when prompted choose the iTunes Library.itl file in the iTunes on the NAS folder.

The NAS must be on and wake up before from iTunes or the computer will forget the location of the library file and you use the option + method again.

Some like the idea of a SIN to do what you want to do but iTunes and NAS don't do not always play very well together.  Make sure that you keep good backups against the day you post here saying that your iTunes library everything is a mess and you try to play a track and something completely different once. or etc, etc.

I don't know about all of these interfaces you mention.  If you are hosting the music to an iPhone an iPhone can not read directly a NAS and you must have iTunes running to serve the media.

    Thank you!

    Hello Teresa,.

If I understand your question, you have apps on your iPhone 6 that are not displayed in your library on your new computer HP iTunes, is that correct?

You can download all recent purchases on the iTunes Store on your computer, if you wish.   Here's how:

    Download your latest purchases

On a Mac or a PC

You can re-download apps for iOS in iTunes devices and apps for your computer in the Mac App Store.

    From iTunes

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. If you are not logged in, sign in with your Apple ID.
    3. In the MenuBar at the top of your screen, computer or at the top of the iTunes window, select account > bought. If you are a member of a family sharing group, you might see family purchases instead of buying.

If you are using Windows and you don't see the menu bar, Learn how to turn it on.

    4. In the upper right corner of the iTunes window, click on applications.
    5. Click on 'Not in my library' to the purchased display content that is not on your computer.

    6. Find the item that you want to download, then click on the download icon in the upper right corner. Your application will download to your library.

Theresa Robert, you can change a setting in iTunes so that all purchases are automatically downloaded to your iTunes library in the future.  Here's how:

Turn on automatic downloads for the iTunes Store, App Store and iBooks Store purchases

    On your computer

In iTunes, you can turn on automatic downloads for purchases made on iTunes Store such as songs, albums, movies, TV shows, or applications for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. If you are not logged in, sign in with your Apple ID.
    3. If you have not allowed to your computer, choose Store > authorize computer this.
    4. Mac: In the MenuBar at the top of your computer screen, choose iTunes > Preferences.
Windows: In the MenuBar at the top of the iTunes window, choose the command Edition > Preferences. Learn what to do If you see not the menu bar.
    5. Click the Store tab, and then select the content you want to download automatically.

    6. Click OK.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

  • How to put the old info sync on new computer

For some reason, my computer died. I have a fairly complete backup of my computer on a backup drive, but he won't cooperate at present. I have however, you have an android who has lost sync settings, but phone has a full set of my favorites in there. Is there a way to get the bookmarks from my phone to my computer?

EDIT: Looks like by asking a new recovery code, I inadvertently deleted my information that was stored on the cloud... Here he gave me a warning about it. Anyway the last question of the OP is still standing: I can't bookmarks from my phone to the computer?

If you pair your cell phone on the account you just refreshed the information on it should be pushed to the computer too.

You can learn how do by following the steps explained here: How can I set up Sync on my computer?

  • iTunes syncs not news - grey broken circle indicates those who.

I have recently updated my iPhone 4 iOS 9.2.1 and use iTunes 12.3.2.35 on a PC running Windows 8.1 and I have the following problem:

When I sync iTunes new content is not added to the phone. I recently added to my iTunes library a few CDs of authentic, new purchases, first generation, a couple of audio books purchased from Audible and an album bought on iTunes. None of them will be synchronized, they appeared on the iTunes devices section, but they are shaded with a grey boken circle to the left of the name. I looked and tried most of the fixes recommended, is the most popular for (for example) deselect audio books, synchronize and then synchronize the device then re - select and Resync. It comes from all the audio books in gray, so I won't try that with my music. The only solution that I have not tried to reset the whole phone and load it again a saved profile and I hesitate to try this, unless someone who has actually done it gives me a clear indication it will work.

To summarize, the elements come from a variety of sources, including iTunes itself, they are all in the correct library alongside everything else and they play on iTunes. They just won't sync. Any help would be welcome. Thank you

The following steps should solve problems with synchronization, assuming that all the content you want in your library.

(If it is not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device).

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

I had to do it myself a few months previously when Siri has ceased to be able to call people or play music.

NB. A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. You can however download past purchases to iTunes and/or to activate Automatic app downloads buy to make sure iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. Another change to the way the restorations are implemented means that all private data app is restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting for download on the iTunes Store on Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works. Not having apps in your library is not the disadvantage that it once was, but you're still at risk of losing a favored app if it is removed from the Bank and you don't have a local copy.

  • I just downloaded iTunes to a new computer and have done nothing to transfer music files. Yet, my library is displayed in the new machine. How?

    Library mysteriously appears!

iTunes always comes with a default library and if you use the same Apple ID, some of your purchased items may be there.

  • New computer, would like my music on it

You just bought a new Macbook Pro (2016).  iTunes has been able to sync some of my music through my Apple ID, however I have a ton of songs and playlists which does not on my new computer.

When I try to sync my iTunes on my new computer with my phone on, it says: "are you sure you want to delete songs on your iPhone and sync with the computer"... as in, it will remove the songs very I'm trying to get.

It seems that this day in age, with several Apple devices that would be just the things work.  I thought maybe it was just a matter for songs not purchased through iTunes, but a bunch of songs that I can't pass was actually purchased from iTunes on my phone... What is not supposed.  Does anyone have an idea how to make my iTunes on the computer like my phone (songs and playlists)

If your iOS device does not appear in iTunes, try the following:

    1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
    2. Plug in your device
    3. Locate Bus USB Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
It is also possible that the device may appear under imaging devices, portable devices or other devices or as a device USB of MTB.
    4. Right-click and select software update of the driver...
    5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Apple Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
      C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
    7. Click on let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer
    8. Click on Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

To step 3 above, open the Device Manager. Expand one of the articles that are listed.

    • USB Bus controllers
    • Imaging devices
    • Portable devices
    • Other devices

Plug in the appliance. You should hear the telltale Windows sound device connection and a Division must acquire a new entry. This should be your device. It cannot be labelled properly at this point. If you do not hear a suspicious noise cable damaged.

Or try If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod - Apple Support Apple version of the above opinion.

If not try a complete tear down and rebuild iTunes in accordance with the resolution of the problems with iTunes for Windows updates. 64-bit users might also try the build replacing iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for older video cards) which is sometimes a useful workaround.

Or try to go back to the last version of iTunes that has worked for you. See the programs installation of iTunes to download links. If you roll back to 12.4.0.119 to 12.3.3.17 or 12.3.2.35, for example, then you will also need restore the database of the library in the manner described in the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library. • Former computer stolen / / now new computer won't sync music on itunes

    Hello

I had my old laptop stolen and replaced by a brand new Macbook Pro.  My problem is that the new computer will not allow a new music put on my iphone because it is synchronized and authorized with the old machine, now gone.

I have a time machine backup a few weeks ago, but who was unable to migrate on my new computer because the new machine has a smaller SSD drive.  So I just pulled the files manually.

Is there an itunes file somewhere in my old library that has the piece of code that it is my iphone to my new machine and copy music on there?

    Community thanks a lot!

    PW

If possible, copy the entire iTunes folder to the same location on your new hard drive.  If there is not enough space then omit some media from the Media folder.  It's actually the iTunes Library.itl file that needs your phone but it's more than just the file key for your phone, is the key for everything in iTunes file and he collaborates with a bunch of other files and folders in the iTunes folder. If you omit some of the multimedia files they will appear as broken links, but you need to set your library anyway if you want to use a smaller hard drive.
