IVI agilent Funcgen 33522 B

Cannot get the IVI driver to work with Agilent 33522 B generator functions. (VISA funktions work well)

I installed the driver of the IVI - C.  (http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=A1C02CABC2854F97E0440021287E6A...

It adds a 'driver instruments Module' ag3352x. (IviDriver 1.1 IVI - C and IviFgen 5.0 IVI - C)

Added a 'logic' and selected name the session "Driver" (ag3352x) and selected the material resource (GPIB0::11:INSTR)

Tested with the "simulate with" set to the works of specific driver, but when I set it to not simulate I get "0xBFF0015 timeout expired" in LV and TestStand.

33522B unit switches mode to distance and communication show 2 error: header not defined-113, query-420 UNTERMINATED.

Is this a bug in the IVI driver? or have I missed something.

PER DAY

I got the job of communication. (after trying different drivers and settings)

It seems to be the name of 'physical' and 'virtual' for 'channels' of MAX's name was the problem.

The default physical name must be changed to something other than '1', although the Canadian standard requires that the name of the channel is '1 '.

If it works if I have something like "Channel 1" the virtual name value and then use '1' in BT or Teststand.

(In Teststand you must change the name of the channel pre-filled (in this case channel 1) to '1')

  • Scope Agilent MSO6104A and IVI steps

    Hello

I use scope Agilent MSO6104A that is connected via Gbspecifications FOR.

I would like to control the scope by following the steps in TestStand IVI (TestStand 4.2).

I have downloaded the driver 'IVI - COM, IVI - C Version for 5000, 6000, 7000, 546xx 1.3.20.0 series Oscilloscopes' of the Agilent site and installed.

Agilent IO executable is installed as well.

The logical name of the instrument is created in MAX.

Then, I tried to communicate with the scope by TestStand IVI markets.

I copied the scope of the steps of the sequence of the example.

IVI step with the 'Init' operation tools works very well.

    But the IVI measures fail.

For example, 'Configure 1 channel' fails with the following runtime error:

    Details:

An exception has occurred the call "RunStep" in "ISubstep" of "ZNIUGOL of Types of step TestStand Ivi"
An error occurred during the execution of the step.
Error of component control works IVI: IVI configure failed for logical name 'MS06104A '.
Details: IO error: %1. [IVI. Error Code: BFFA4214]
    Source: TSIviStepTypes

    Error code:

NEITHER spy errors also (see the attachment).

    Thanks in advance

I think you might have more luck if you use the pilot of the IVI-C written by NOR.

  • Agilent 6812 B power cord does not work with the class IVI driver

I try to use a power source Agilent 6812 B with class IVI DISARM on RS232 driver.  I have everything set up NI Max but I can't by the initialization routine.  I tried in LabView and LabWindows and nor will not work.

I decided to follow the lines RS232 RX/TX and I see that he is sending the "* IDN?" command and it times out before receiving a response.  Unfortunately, it does not send the Terminal newline at the end of the string.  I can cross NI MAX and send "* IDN? \n' and he responds with the ID very well.

So my question is, would be possible that the IVI specific driver is not written correctly to send a jump as an end of line character or do I need to configure the Compote to send this character separately?  The IVI driver has been downloaded from instrumement network driver of NOR and it says it is compatible with the 6812B, but has been tested with 6813B.

    Hello, Tanguy,.

I am pleased that install the specific instruments IVI - C Driver took care of things.  The differences between IVI - C and IVI - COM can be confusing at first.  I hope the rest of your application development goes smoothly.

    See you soon,.

For a 32-bit application, the _x86 driver is the right thing to use.

is there a reason why you are not using NIs IVI - C driver for this device (found at http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9419659CE034080020E748... )?

  • Agilent 66 x pilot IVI/VXI series

    Hello!

I used to communicate smoothly with Agilent 66 x series of power supplies in Visual c# .NET, after wrapping his file of .fp VXI/PNP with .NET wrapper Wizard.

I have been using an old installation file of driver 661x.exe which included everything and made calls to the hp661x_32.dll.

Recently, I found that there is an IVI driver for these power supply on the Web site of NOR. So I tried to make a c# her wrapper but can't find the .fp in the installed package!

In addition, it seems that the dll has changed, it is now called hp66xxbc_32.dll.

Anyone know what is happening and that I should better use? IVI seems generally more far for me, but I could be wrong.

    Thank you!

    M. Jean-Michel / Switzerland

If you have any problems with the driver for your VXIpnp, you can certainly continue to use it but the IVI driver is certainly out of date and it is supported by NEITHER. Given that these two drivers do not share the same prefix, they can easily coexist on the same system. Therefore, you should make an IVI driver a try. Once you run the Setup program for LabWindows/CVI, the FP file gets installed in Program Files/IVI or IVI Foundation/Drivers/hp66xxbc.

    I hope this helps.

  • The IVI Driver download for E3631A Agilent expects a C: drive - solution

Exe self extractor for the Agilent E3631A IVI driver expect drive c to exist.  I don't have drive C: self extractor opens then C: drive is no reports and they closed the extractor.  Does anyone know a work around for this?

How can you not have a c:\ drive?  What kind of PC are you running?

Try to rename the .exe is a zip file.  Then see if you can open it using winzip or another zip program to be able to drag files manually.

anything that could help me please

The cable surrounded in black looks like a USB-GPIB cable. You can use a NI PCI-GPIB and GPIB cable place for as long as you have a PC with an available PCI slot. If you connect via GPIB, you use DAQmx, as Intens said.

  • Interfacing pilot Agilent IVI - COM for U8903 Audioanalyzer of Labwindows/CVI

When I try to use the controller Active X of CVI 2009 Wizard to create a C Wrapper for Agilents U8903x IVI - COM drivers, I get more than 100 errors "the too long method name. Is there one solution other than the edition of each name of the simple method, which is to long?

    Hey Markus.

I just tried to create a controller for this driver and had no problem.  I have install the driver has been downloaded from here.  My only guess is that somehow FP File Format for new files by default "CVI 5.0.1 and earlier.  You can check this by opening a FP in CVI and then go to the Option"menu FP File Format.  Check 5.5 or 8.5 and later versions are selected.

  • Unknown channel or name of the repeated feature - settings MAX IVI

    Hi all

I have problems with the creation of a pilot application based on IVI. I use Agilent N6700B PowerSupply simply configure and output voltage via GPIB with LV2009 (and Win7). The main issue is with the name of the 'channel' I need to specify in the application. Could someone please confirm ChannelName should I use and if the MAX settings are correct? I have attached all necessary files.

When I run my application I get following "IviDCPwr IVI Converter.vi error error message

The primary error: unknown channel (Hex 0xBFFA0020) or
    name of the feature repeated.

    Complete calling chain:      IVI IviDCPwr
    Error Converter.vi IviDCPwr
    Configure the output Range.vi GPIB.vi"

    Any help is very appreciated

    Kind regards

    PK

    Hi, PKI,

The correct physical name for the channel is '1' and it was filled for you by the driver under the advanced > Instrument Driver Software Module (see MAX1.jpg). You can name your virtual channel name well you want under the pilot Sessions > section virtual names, but the physical name must always be 1 as specified in the driver (MAX2.jpg). In your application, make sure that you use exactly the same name for the virtual channel as recorded in MAX.

  • The IVI Drivers: RangeCheck of initialization option set to true: failed to get an out-of-range error

    Hello

I'm new to IVI drivers (started using them last week) and I have a problem with the option of initializing RangeCheck.

So get used to the IVI drivers, I used the example provided with the AgilentE36xx IVI - COM driver (on my computer, it is located in C:\Program Files\IVI Foundation\IVI\Drivers\AgE36xx\Examples\VS.NET\Cpp\Example1).

I could do everything I wanted except get an error out-of-range, during the passage of an out-of-range value to a function. I put the RangeCheck init option to true, but I don't have any error in the simulation, nor with the connected equipment.

Attached is the code (from the example of Agilent) but modified so that it should throw an out-of-range error when adjusting the tension on the following line: spOutput1-> VoltageLevel = 1000; ... why no error.

Still, it runs correctly. Can someone tell me what I'm not doing correctly.

    Kind regards

  • IVI - c. in TestStand

    Hello

right now Im using the trial version of TestStand 4.0 if it suits my requests. I saw in the "Palette of Insertion" steps of the IVI - C. Whith them it should be possible to connect to a DMM or scope or...

So I installed the IVI Compliance Package and driver for my device "hp34401a". But how do I set up the driver to address good feature? In the documentation and help files, I read that MAX is communal, where can I get it from?

    Frank

(I just TestStand installed no LabView or LabWindows or Measurement Studio)

I knew I need to activate a special Max dll to access my Gbspecifications card to (agilent).

    now it works almost well

  • control the HP / Agilent 3499 x with RS232

In the instrument driver network, I fould a 'pilot' that show how to operate an HP / Agilent 3499 B switch using GPIB in LabVIEW.  Problem is that no GPIB on my system.  Is there an equivalent of "pilot" / example VI that shows how to control a switch 3499 using RS232 and LabVIEW?  (LabVIEW 7.1 compatible perfered or 8.0)  Thank you.

Since it is an IVI driver, you have LabWindows/CVI to change.

A switch is usually a simple instrument. You can write your own driver or use the Instrument i/o Assistant. I advise to use MAX or Hyperterminal to test communication before writing any code.

  • Agilent a54845a scope configuration

    Hi all

I am configuring the Agilent 54845 a scope in LabView. I installed the necessary driver (hhttp://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E9118659CE034080020E74861) and placed the instrument on LAN. Successfully NI MAX sees the instrument, and I can send commands to the range through the NI VISA test.

When I try the test "put hp54xx started.vi" LabVIEW present with the driver, then problems arise. I put the correct entry of the IVI (the name of scope recognized by NI MAX) successfully but I can't set option string (the VI runs only in Simulation = 1 mode); If I try to put the Simulation = 0, I get different types of errors, such as:

    1073807339 error has occurred hp548xx read Waveform.vi

    Possible reasons:
Driver status: (Hex 0xBFFF0015) timeout expired before the operation is complete.

Otherwise, same with the predefined settings:

1074135024 error has occurred in hp548xx configuration Channel.vi

    Possible reasons:

Driver status: (Hex 0xBFFA0010) invalid value for the parameter or property.

Secondary error: (Hex 0xBFFC0003) parameter 3 out of reach, or an error occurred when setting setting 3.

    Development: range

Am I facing some known problems? Can it be linked to the fact that I connect via LAN, while the pilot only mentions GPIB?

    Thanks in advance.

The alternatives are to write your own driver or make changes to existing ones. The others are very viable if you have an understanding of the manual instrument and LabVIEW experience. The query id in the initialize function is a simple string comparison. Have you even looked at the block diagram?

  • You looking for LabVIEW Keysight/Agilent/HP 6634 B drivers

    Hi all

I tried seraching everywhere but I can't find drivers for labview for power supply Keysight/Agilent/HP 6634 B. The only ones I can find are for the 6xxxA series, but not the series of 6xxxB.

If anyone has or knows where to find them, I would be very grateful!

    Thank you

You are in error. This is indeed the driver LabVIEW, class IIA type. If you don't like that this driver calls dll, as I wrote above, you could simply create your own driver following the information of the SCPI, located in your device manual package...

If you want to use the driver, follow these steps:

    1. Download and install the package corresponding to your version of LV IVI: http://search.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/1/sn/n8:3, ssnav:ndr / sb / - nigenso4-...
    2. Restart the PC
    3. Install the driver of the IVI of the site: http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E947E659CE034080020E748... (direct link to the exe: http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niet_download_id.log_ids?p_profile_id=1270941&p_doc_id=E3B19B3E947E659C... )
