Java plugin starts several times on firefox

Hello

I use firefox and I need to open several tabs to access the forms, oracle (which uses the java plugin)... in the past I had only a java running to open several tabs, but now for each tab, it starts a new process of java, eat all the free memory.

This change on firefox or something in relation to the java update? I use jre7u40.

How can I put back the old behavior?

I created a new profile in firefox and it seems to solve the problem, now that the java plugin is shared between tabs ~ 5

Java plugin is not loading in Firefox 4.0b11, but it works very well in 3.6.13 (and in Google Chrome too). It worked in Firefox 4 before, but broken somewhere around beta 5. libnpjp2.so is not really in the plugins folder, but it is a symlink: /libnpjp2.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.12/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so. When running the command line, I see FF tries to load other plugins of symbolic links (most associated with totem) but do not because they are amd64 and FF is built in 32-bit. But none of the messages on libnpjp2.so (which IS 32 bits).

Java 1.6.0.12 is old enough, then you can try to install the latest version of Java 6 U23.

  • Java plugin does not load on Firefox

I'm working on a machine without administrator rights. Firefox fails to load Java plugin even thought it is installed. Summer search internet and found this and this.
I checked the users on this machine really has only read access to HKLM\Software\mozilla.org. Is this the problem why does not load plugin? He said that this should be fixed in new versions of Java and FF.

    I use Firefox 11.0, Java 6 Update 13, Windows 7 Enterprise.

OK, I read about this problem on the mozillazine kb now...

You can try the following: go to start run & open %appdata%\Mozilla\, create a folder named plugins (where it does not exist). then you need to go to the directory of the java program and the subfolder bin (probably C:\Program Files\Java\j2re < version > \bin\) and copy all the .dll files that begin with np*.dll and paste them into the plugins folder you created before. This must be repeated for each user on the machine.

in the case where firefox then detects the plugin, I would recommend you keep the disabled plugin and activated only upon request (or use an extension like noscript to create a white list of trusted sites that can use the plugin). I have seen many infections than to exploit vulnerabilities in older versions of java, also on accounts with limited user rights...

  • Interrupted SQL statement and start several times with several SQL_EXEC_ID

    Hi all

We meet a strange phenomenon, maybe someone can help.

We see that sometimes, when our client runs a single statement, implemented Oracle to process the statement with a special SQL_EXEC_ID, but after a while stops and starts processing the statement along with different SQL_EXEC_ID. Then, after a while, it happens again - stop Oracle processes the statement and start from the beginning with the new SQL_EXEC_ID. This happens again and again until we kill all of the other sessions on the database (then it ends).

What we see exactly: Client executes the statement (sql_id = "2tp7pz6yv87qp"). Monitor us v $ SQL_MONITOR and get this:

    SELECT Sql_id, sql_exec_id, to_char (SQL_EXEC_START, "HH24:MI:SS MON-DD-YYYY) SQL_EXEC_START, status OF V$ SQL_MONITOR where sql_id = '2tp7pz6yv87qp' ORDER BY SQL_EXEC_START DESC;

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777216 28 may 2015 07:19:14 the EXECUTION

After a while check us again and see this:

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777217 28 may 2015 07:36:17 the EXECUTION

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777216 28 may 2015 07:19:14 FACT

After a while, we see this:

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777219 28 may 2015 08:09:58 the EXECUTION

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777218 28 may 2015 07:53:37 FACT

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777217 28 may 2015 07:36:17 FACT

    2tp7pz6yv87qp 16777216 28 may 2015 07:19:14 FACT

and so on — will happen again and again until we kill all of the other sessions in the database.

When comparing the follow-up of the different SQL_EXEC_IDs SQL reports, we see that each of them did exactly the same job: used the same execution plan, beginning treatment she even read/wrote the same amount of e/s and each of them stopped at the same point during execution. You can see that for each SQL_EXEC_ID execution 'stops' in the middle and never reach the end of the plan. She always stops in the JOIN by HASH and never continue to the next steps in the implementation plan.

When you look more deeply, we see in V$ ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY always last thing that happens for every SQL_EXEC_ID is HASH JOIN RIGHT OUTER (SQL_PLAN_OPERATION = HASH and SQL_PLAN_OPTIONS = RIGHT OUTER JOIN). Then comes the new SQL_EXEC_ID and it starts to do the same thing as the previous SQL_EXEC_ID did when it was launched.

Kill all other sessions, run finally ends. We see that the final (successful) SQL_EXEC_ID work and completes his plan to run to completion.

When executing the same single statement (when it comes to the single session in the database), it ends with a single SQL_EXEC_ID. Its SQL monitoring report looks like the final execution when the phenomenon occurs after killing all other sessions.

-We checked that the customer executing the query only once. AWR also only shows simple execution of the query.

-We have reproduced in many different clients (plus SQL, JDBC thin client OIC and DBMS_SCHEDULER job).

-It has no PARALLEL in the query or table.

-In this case for different statements (different INSERT-SELECT and MERGE instructions).

-Version: Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit Production

    Does anyone have an idea?

Finally found the root cause of the problem.

This phenomenon occurs when the cursor of the active query being invalidated. This can occur in several scenarios, in our case, what happens when we work on a single partition (read or write) and perform DDL operations on different partitions of the same or the tables.

    Steps to reproduce:

1 launch long command DML that affect the single partition

    2. in the course of executing this SQL, do one of the following values in a session different all 1 minute:

2.1 do the indexes to a different partition unusable: ALTER TABLE X EDIT PARTITION Y UNUSABLE LOCAL INDEX

2.2 rebuild the unusable index of different partition: ALTER TABLE X EDIT PARTITION Y REBUILD UNUSABLE LOCAL INDEX

    2.3 a partition different truncate

Support of Oracle we were told that this problem is known and there are several requests for bugs and improvements thereon, for example this one:

Bug 12905327 : TRUNCATE to an INVALID PARTITION TABLE UNNECESSARILY IMMEDIATELY all THE SLIDERS

In our case (ETL process), we used to perform all these operations DDL and DML operations long (we work on different partitions in parallel). In order to solve, we have separated these operations to the different phases in our process and don't be DDL and DML operations at the same time more. This solved the problem for us.

  • Starling - start several times, workflow?

    Hey all,.

Has anyone Starling serving small portions of a larger application (for example, to use the commands FeathersUI) and had the task start and stop an instance of Starling? I'm curious of your workflow to manage the context Stage3D. I find that Starling is unable to reset itself even with the additions of managing a lost context. From instantiations past the initial, Starling seems to fail to find a context and simply shows as black.

How do you manage the start, stop and then start the Starling engine properly? This post implies it is a work in progress. During the implementation of the suggested temporary solution authors I find that the engine becomes unusable.

Anyone calling this engine start-stop without stopping the main scenario for the global Flash? If need be, I can keep the engine in memory. I just can't let it sit in a battery of eating the render, rendered nothing loop, just at the same time keep it in existence to reuse and not stop main timeline in Flash. It's a waste of resources but Starling doesn't handle well the Stage3D context. This is a known issue. I wonder to what extent the industry of Adobe will this problem or if it's specific to Starling (I posted there too, same thing, 0 replies in 3 days).

    Edit:

I graduated there with a problem of github and it was found that a bug and fixed:

  • WhatWhere is the plug-incontainer? happened to the plugin container? He disappeared with the latest version and now firefox crashes several times a day.

I do not see the plugin container in the task manager of Windows since the last update of Firefox and now FF freezes several times per day (since the previous update, before yesterday). It takes several minutes after that I see this until it thaws, and it is faster the "end task" and restart Firefox to wait. This most often seems to happen when the computer has been idle for a certain time, rather than when I use it.

Be sure to let the process of plugin-container in the firewall.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.

In the Firefox Safe mode, these changes are effective:

    • all extensions are disabled
    • the default theme is used (no persona)
    • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored
    • the layout of the default toolbar is used (localstore - safe.rdf)
    • the JIT Javascript compiler is disabled
    • hardware acceleration is disabled
    • plugins are not affected
    • preferences are not affected

If it is not caused by an acceleration of material or extension, then try disabling the JIT compiler.

Try disabling the JIT ionmonkey compiler by defining these jit false prefs on the topic: config page (search: jit) to see if that helps.

I can go in chrome without any problem and watch any video without any problem. the second I get into firefox, nothing does. I had this problem on and off for years. I really don't see why you can't solve the problem, if anyone can. I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and flash player several times. nothing seems to work. I am really really tired of this same problem for years, I stay with firefox, because you are aware of privacy and are always more. I don't know what other details to tell keep you other than that just to be and it makes it very difficult to do anything on firefox, when I can't use something simple like the flash drive. as I said, if other browsers can remedy I see no reason why firefox can not year after year. I hope there is a solution to this problem because it basically stopped a lot of my work on the net that I will no longer use google or microsoft. Thank you

If you use extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) which can block content (e.g., Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that these extensions are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
