Java Tomcat monitoring

Hello!

Management Server 5.6.7 Foglight (and installed FglAM).

Windows 2008 with Tomcat v7 and installed FglAM.

I try to configure java followed, but get the error:

My configuration (in Admin Guide Java) steps, 1 (integrate):

step 2 (services computer name on Windows where installed Tomcat):

3 (nexus - it Management Server Foglight, where FglAM installed):

4 (it Windows Server where FglAM and Tomcate installed):

5:

P:S: Sorry for my English

Try to repeat what I have on my machine.

My tomcat's JVM C:\jdk1.7.0_25\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll so basically, for Fogligh, t Java House is C:\jdk1.7.0_25\jre

I have create a generic configuration

Make sure that I give him the House of Java, note that you must click on 'other options '.

Now, when the integration is completed a file is created for the integration

This file has an embed code. The idea with the ID of the integration is that it give you the ability to distinguish between several types of integrations current running on the exct same machine.

There is a .jar file that was generated for the ID of integration according to the JAVA virtual machine that you gave.

Now all you have to do is to add the following lines to your Java Tomcat option

-Dquest.debug = 0

-Dquest.agent.config =

Xbootclasspath/p:

-javaagent:

In my case, it was lines

-Dquest.debug = 0

-Dquest.agent.config=C:\Foglight567Java2\fglam\agents\JavaEE\5.9.2-20130627-2305\config\integrations\dPYw45L0RMJbbdu\agent.config

-Xbootclasspath/p:C:\Foglight567Java2\fglam\agents\JavaEE\5.9.2-20130627-2305\bootstrap\dPYw45L0RMJbbdu\C--JDK1.7.0_25-JRE.jar

-javaagent:C:\Foglight567Java2\fglam\agents\JavaEE\5.9.2-20130627-2305\lib\performasure-agent.jar

This is how it looks in the window of Tomcat

Now, all you have to do is to restart Tomcat and it must be visible in the console Foglight.

Keep in mind that if you want to give tomcat, a server name or a cluster, you can add the appserverinfo flag

Hope this helps

  • API Java Tomcat 6: UnsatisfiedLinkError (2.4.16 + p1) libdb_java46.dll

On Windows XP, 1.6.0/11 Sun JDK and Tomcat 6.0.18, I get an error for 2.4.16/patch.1 DB XML when the JAVA virtual machine attempts to load the wrong version of the libdb_java46 library.

I have not changed the build type, so everything compiles in the debug version. This means that the library in question is called libdb_java46d.dll (note the 'd' at the end).

It works fine from the command line using javac and java, with the DB XML in the WAY bin\debug directory, of course.

However, when you try to run the Tomcat 6, I see an UnsatisfiedLinkError as the Tomcat load loading XML DB classloader tries to load libdb_java46.dll (note the lack of "d"), which I have never built.

The class responsible for loading dbxml.jar and db.jar charger is the common.loader (for use by the server and all the webapps load classes), which is taken either by adding the pots to $Tomcat / lib or modify the common.loader in conf/catalina.properties include jars.

I made sure the bin\debug directory is in the path or in java.library.path when Tomcat is started as a service.

I uninstalled previous versions of XML DB, while the news is the only one on the machine.

Why is there an attempt to load the version without debugging when all DB XML is compiled as debug version?

    Michael Ludwig

    Michael

Java API for XML DB begins with the first attempts to load libraries release builds, and default and then tries to load the debug versions. If it fails to find the two versions then the UnsatisfiedLinkError is thrown the output library registration, even if she sought the debugging library.

So the question here is not that he's trying to load only the output library, but it can't find your library of debugging for a reason any. You seemed to have thought of the most common mistakes that cause the UnsatisfiedLinkError. So all I can recommend is the thread Unix UnsatisfiedLinkError with tomcat and places that links to, to see if there may be another reason why Tomcat isn't finding one of your libraries.

  • Foglight can monitor the WebSphere Process Server?

You have experience in the monitoring of IBM products like WebSphere Process Server WebSphere Application Server-based? What about Portal Server?

    Thank you.

Technically the Java agent monitors the Websphere server and whatever it is current running on a Websphere server support.

We have customers using the agent Java for trade and Portal Server, I have not personally tested with the bailiff, but if it's a version supported Websphere server it should work.

A couple of things I've seen with Logon/trade:

    1. in some cases, there is a need to play with the settings of the instrumentation to exclude classes called many be instrumented.

2 transformation of URL is necessary because the URLS have parameters embedded in them, which makes the demand model are growing very fast.

An example of transformation of URLS can be found here

  • Foglight APM - JMX monitoring

    Hello

I'm new to Foglight for Java application, monitoring, please bear with me in case I have posted this requirement in the wrong forum and tell me please right forum.

I have obligation to use the JMX Foglight cartridge, aggregate the MBean attributes in different objects MBean and return the details in tabular mode. Can you please suggest how can I do this... ?

    Thank you

    Sunder

It probably depends on the data itself.

The JMX agent is the mechanism for this information.

With Foglight, there are different ways to build custom dashboards to display data.

-The easiest way is to drag and drop dashboards, you can drag node that contains items beneath him and choose to create a table

Then choose what you want to display

You can also drag and drop metric and view as a table or list

-The second way requires more knowledge of the Foglight Web Part infrastructure, in some cases people take courses to get that knowledge, in some cases, they get professional services Dell to help with it and in some cases they follow this tutorial and then join the courage of things.

  • 503 errors after about 3 months w / CF10

Server is not responding at all two days now. The record that they are running. Restarting temporarily solves.

My first thought was that he was a customer variables problem, 90 days purge people causes a lot of problems. But I have confirmed that the source code does not reference "ClientComm". I moved variable storage of customer in a database anyway (nothing is getting filled,) and disabled the global updates. It always crashes after doing this.

This leads me to think the problem may be with Tomcat itself, or with the IIS connector, but I don't know where to go from here, if that's the case. We ran all CF10 update via update 12 and did not initially again the IIS connector through wsconfig.exe and restart IIS, but did about a month or two ago.

We have also adjusted the JVM settings a bit:

    -XX: MaxPermSize =192 m-> 256 m

and set the size of the JVM min and max heap on 2048 (from 1024). We have 6 GB of RAM on the dedicated server.

The rise without any garbage collection operation is the same as we saw the last time that the server crashed as well. I have logs of Fusion analytics since the last crash, if everyone would like to see a specific chart.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

ISAPI log errors seems tomcat at the end of CF does not meet tomcat iis connector. Probably, you will need to make some adjustments or set values server.xml in cfusion\runtime\conf.

What are the values? This blog CF11 entry can help since the details also apply to the CF10.

    http://blogs.ColdFusion.com/post.cfm/ColdFusion-11-IIS-connector-tuning

Keep in mind in making adjustments to the corresponding changes server.xml should be applied to workers.properties in config\wsconfig\N.

You could also do a surveillance with jdk free tools such as jconsole to know what values of adjustment would be based on better load type. Java and tomcat monitoring tho is time and effort if response on thread if you want to know more about how to track.

  • Firefox has suddenly start delay when accessing the secure site

We have an application Java Tomcat 7 on Amazon Web Services EC2 server. The server is configured so that our application is the root application and is accessible from port 80. The application and the Tomcat are configured with SSL, so that whenever someone types in the url of the site (e.g. www.something.net) Tomcat will switch to HTTPS and use port 8443.
This all works fine, but it seems that if for some reason any Firefox expires when accessing the site, it will never reconnect on the site and any attempt to connect using www.something.net indicates that the connection has expired. Yet if you put in the port number (for example, www.something.net:8443) happens immediately.
I tried setting compensation in web cache content, defining the limit of cache to zero and by disabling web content offline. None of this has worked. Re-installing Firefox worked.
We if the question was limited to Firefox, but we did eventually run run in on Chrome too. On Chrome, I was able to get the browser to connect to the site by going to settings > advanced > clear data of the browser and delete the browser history, download, history, cookies and cache of images and files. Once I did the site come immediately with www.something.net and switch to HTTPS as it is supposed to do.
It took me several months to encounter this problem. But other users have encountered immediately (for example, when configuring a new machine).
Anyone can shed some light on this? I saw some issues, but none of them had what contributed to my situation. Can anyone suggest a way to remove all that is prevent Firefox to connect?

Pass port SSL 8443 to 443 has solved the problem. It seems that when the www.something.net url is entered, Firefox remembers that it's an SSL site and automatically add the 's' to get the https. In fact after the timeout, the url in the browser line https:www.something.net. Of course, this is by default the SSL port (443) standard, which does not work if 8443 is used. Join port 443 has solved the problem.

If you read about Tomcat configuration, the default SSL port is 8443. Maybe this is done for the test, but there never seems to be explained that there could be problems with 8443.

  • WebMethods followed with Foglight

Has anyone tried monitoring WebMethods using Foglight? I have the cartridge J2EE deployed and FxM setup on one side of the WebServices and are capable of producing statistics, but WebMethod is the Web service consumer and I wonder what I have to do in order to control that?

I think to deploy J2EE cartridge and also cover the traffic on the probe of FxM WebMethod?

Anything else that I'm missing here?

    Thank you

    AJ Aslam

    Hi AJ,.

Your approach to the use of FxM to monitor web services and the perspective of the user to WebMethods and agent traffic Foglight Java to monitor the JVM WebMethods is good. You can also use the LogFilter agent to monitor the log files of WebMethods, recorder Tranaction Foglight to monitor the application of synthetically and AppMonitor to monitor the process of WebMethods from the point of view of the BONE.

You can add the following snippet to the startup script WebMethods to integrate with the configuration of X-Agent Java cartridge (assuming Unix):

    WebMethods.sh

    # Integration of quest Foglight Java agent

    JAVA_HOME = ${JAVA_DIR}

    QUEST_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY = / opt/Quest_Software/Foglight_Agent_Manager/agents/JavaEE

    If [f ' $QUEST_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY/integrate.sh '] then

    QUEST_JAVA_ENV_OPTS = X-AGENT:. : JAVA_RUN

    PERFORMASURE_OPTIONS = "-Dquest.agent.appserverinfo = WMintegration_$ {HOST}": Generic:3.1.2:Integration ""

    . "$QUEST_DEPLOYMENT_DIRECTORY/integrate.sh".

    on the other

echo agent Java EE not activated

    FI

This block should ba added just before the line that starts the WebMethods server:

    #... to perform integration server

    ${JAVA_RUN} {JAVA_D64} - DWM_HOME = ${WM_HOME} - classpath ${CLASSPATH} ${IS_PROXY_MAIN} ${IS_DIR}/bin/ini.cnf,

The other thing you need to do is exclude the instrumentation WebMethods infrastructure classes by adding configuration exclude attached to the JAVA_AGENT_HOME/config/agent-override/instrumentation.config. Note that this configuration has not been thoroughly tested, but should provide a good starting point.

    Kind regards

  • Test the connection to My Oracle Support fails

    Hello

I am fairly new to cloud OEM control but can't seem to find the journal to solve this.  It seems that CC cannot talk about MOS of my server, even if I can wget and curl it directly from the server very well.  I am Setup-> Proxy Settings-> My Oracle Support.  I do not have a proxy between this server and the web, so I choose "Not of Proxy" and then click on the Test button.  It fails with:

Unable to connect to My Oracle Support, using the URL "https://support.oracle.com". Check the proxy settings. Try using your web browser and has the same proxy settings, to test the URL "https://support.oracle.com". "" If you are still unable to connect, check the logs of WHO for more details about the failure.

Can someone explain why this is happening, or give me a clue where the log would be?  I can't find all the newspapers recently under my location of $OMS_HOME.

In addition, anyone know how CC manages the agents on different subnets?  In other words, my server will be connected to a network VLAN for Tomcat monitoring mechanism and also multihomed on a DB VLAN to monitor Oracle database instances.  If the server can communicate on these subnets OK, is there something I need to do in CC so that it recognizes these networks?

    Thank you!

Thanks for the links of the document, which have been a great help.  It turns out that the issue was related to SSL and fixed by the workaround below:

  • ODS 11 g ds5BeginReplicaAcceptUpdates

    Hello

    ODS 11 g 11.1.1.7.0 on solaris10_x64 platform. 1.6.0_45 Java, tomcat 6.0_35 to DSCC.

I'm in the process of construction of the new directory servers. I serve it built okay and I can configure replication. Seems to be running into a problem with references after initialization.

Warning this configuration server will refer updates customer for replica $SUFFIX indefinitely

Documentation, it seems that I have to do something in the sense of:

    ldapmodify h 389 - D cn = Server Pei manager w-

DN: cn = replica, cn = "$SUFFIX", cn = tree of mapping, cn = config

    ChangeType: modify

    Add: ds5BeginReplicaAcceptUpdates

    ds5BeginReplicaAcceptUpdates: start

However, any command ldapmodify I try to deliver fails.

Attempt to use SSL I get

Failed to initialize SSL: error-8174 (security library: bad database.) even though I am specifying the database correctly.

ldapsearch seems to work correctly with a minimum of options.

Is there another method of definition of this attribute or otherwise allowing updates?

    See you soon

    Hello

I guess that you are referring to the doc below:

    10265
: this server will refer updates customer for replica name indefinitely

    Cause:

This provider has recently been initialized for this replica. As a preventive measure, it comes to updates of the client to ensure that it is updated by all teachers on the topology, with all the missing changes before starting to accept updates.

    Solution:

The server will not start accepting updates customer until you add or replace the attribute ds5BeginReplicaAcceptUpdates inside thecn = replica entry for this replica with the value Start. Before making the change, check that the server is updated in terms of replication and it missed any changes previously native to this server before it has been initialized.

Regarding ldapmodify question. Do you use the ldapmodify supplied with Solaris or one that comes with ODSEE (in dsrk/dsee7/bin)?

Did you try to make this change on the plaintext LDAP port (389)?

You rprovide the eaxct could you order of cause and the error you got?

    Lewis.

The error message in AdobeFlashAccess.log can be ignored unless HSM is used in your Management Server package. It is a known problem, and it does not block the Management Server package contents package.

The real problem here is that there is an extra space in the path of Tomcat (for example, C:\Program Files\Java\Tomcat). I think that it is a bug in Java. We are woking on workaround to the present. Please make sure that there is no space in the path of your Tomcat folder for now. Thank you.

I hope this is the right forum.
I'm doing some coding in Java to monitor a lock. I have a built tool that takes SQL and apply logic to a multi tool so so I never write code more to do what I want to do in our systems - just follow the successive executions of this app and intercept the error codes.
