JavaScript to open the PDF file
Hi all. First time poster here. I need to open a PDF file from a javascript that I run using wscript.exe. I also need to fill out some fields in form. I will create the Javascript file on the fly from an application I'm developing. The development environment is a system based script that does not use javascript, but it doesn't have the ability to make calls from the shell.
So my goal is to create a .js on the fly file, and then open a PDF form and fill it out. I have already all the javascript code needed to fill out the forms, but I can't for the life of me how to communicate with Acrobat or Reader itself in order to run javascript.
I can and have created records of FDF and then open the file with the Adobe application and that works very well, but the PDF file must be crafted to open the FDF file from opening, and I want to avoid this extra step. I want to be able to fill out the form directly from my application.
The development environment is NOT C based ot Java-based, otherwise it would be a simple matter of using the API prescribed for them.
Any ideas?
You do not have Acrobat execute JavaScript from a file, but you can ask that it executes JavaScript from a string. Do this, use one of the several APIs, not a command line or shell call. VB is probably the best language as it fits perfectly with JavaScript. Whatever you do, you will need the Acrobat SDK. And none of this will work with the free Adobe, only Acrobat Reader. (I don't know how it would be easy if your environment is based on Java).

Hello
Yes, the Adobe Acrobat Reader for iOS on iPad/iPhone to view PDF Forms.
The problem is that the preview PDF Apple does not make data from completed forms and annotations (Sticky Notes, point climax, drawing freehand, etc.).
When you open a PDF document in an application (Mail, Safari, iBooks) Apple iOS, please make sure you use the feature of "open in" iOS to open it in Acrobat Reader for iOS.
Please take a look at the following documents of the FAQ.

I have a PDF file that shows dotted blue around some of the pages of the document. They weren't there when I opened the PDF file before, and I did nothing for the parameters I know. I don't know why they came, so don't know don't no how to get rid of them. I have Adobe Acrobat Standard XI on my desktop, using Windows. Any help will be appreciated.
Hi Sara,.
I couldn't find "print > printers marks" dialog box in my version of Acrobat, which is Acrobat Standard XI. However, your response has helped a lot in a search that led me to the answer. Use view > show/hide > navigation components > layers to show the layers pane. I clicked on 'the eye' off to the relevant pages, and the marks have disappeared.
Thank you very much!

Problems to open the PDF files created on a PC on a MAC
Hello
Im having issues when I PDF a Word from the Microsoft Office 2010 document. When I opened the pdf file after that is very well and when I send email to other users of PC, it is fine. The problem arises when I send the PDF file to a MAC user and they view the file. The text becomes black lines. The lines are also still visible when they print the document. I'm using acrobat 9 pro. Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks for your help
I was converting a doc MS word to PDF 2010. I think I found a good solution. When you save the PDF file, I chose the 'options' and check the box under PDF options for "ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A). I tried to access this file last updated from my iPad and is no longer the text displayed as black lines. He did, however, increase the size of the file a little... I think it's due to embedding the fonts? In any case, it seems to work now :-)
