FloFAL_CLIENT is the service Oracle TNS from the local system and FAL_SERVER service Oracle TNS from the remote system.
If you have three bases of the pending primary, then the primary data, you must have three values in FAL_SERVER for archives will be send to all destinations.
and the stadnby database, FAL_SERVER must be the oracle TNS service where receive you archives log files.
Note:-If you have primary CARS then forget every service differentiated by commas, as shown below.
Sleep mode to primary CARS:-FAL_SAERVER = "PROD1", "PROD2".
These parameters are dynamic, so that you can change them at any time.

I used to work with Interbase and Firebird and used databases the keyword "domain".
I am now switchig to Oracle as a primary database and would like to find a suitable
Variant of 'area' in Oracle such that it appears he does ' t support the standard SQL syntax.
for example:
Create the int2 smallint field;
create domain id2 int2 default 0 not NULL; / * for the primary key * /.
create domain rel2 int2 default 0 not NULL; / * foreign key * /.
I tried a couple of approaches to achieve this "area" is:
1. create synonym - cannot be used with the basic types;
2. create the type - type of work, but the implementation is rather clumsy
and can be costly in terms of performance.
Is there something else to Oracle that can emulate the feature "domain"?
Thanks in advence, I got really approciate any help on this.
Alex.
Your best approximation is CREATE TYPE, but their is nothing of what is a 100% adjustment.
For example, if you create a domain with a check constraint you need to implement than separately on each table.

Several primary and physical databases Configuration ensures in Data Guard Broker
Hello
Is it possible to add two or several primary and physical databases configuration ensures in data guard broker?
I have 1 primary databases and two databases physical standby that is
(1) primary that is pri - (database primary)
(2) secondary i, e, s (physical pending)
(3) Secondary2 i.e. sec2 (physical pending)
Practical AM sinister place, my scenario is my pri and dry machines are in seat, if the pri crashed it switch to s that works very well and my S2 is in another area office. Suppose that if my two siege machines pri and sec crashed, so I want to do my mahcine sec2 as primary.
I have two separate computers to the broker a headquarters and a District Office
Use failure of quick start on Data Guard Broker, broker headquarters machine I have configured pri and dry but in sector office broker not able congifured pri and S2 and the machine.
can be done several primary database configuration with data bases on hold?
Has anyone done this before, or has a perform a recovery after loss of place...
need help or suggestion
thanx
No.... It is not possible. When you use the DG broker, the first thing you can do in the DGMGRL utility is to deliver CONFIGURATION to CREATE. You can see on the doc of this command that you define here the PRIMARY DATABASE.
The command to add a DATABASE to the broker, adds a new database pending. You cannot add an another primary.
The broker configuration is explicitly for a primary and all standby databases is supported. If you have an another primary, you create a separate DG broker configuration.
See you soon,.

Visual Studio / Oracle configured with local and remote database
Hi, I developed a database application in Visual Studio 2010 and have installed Oracle Database 11 g Express on the same pc - (Windows 7, 64-bit).
Now, I am faced with should I install then: I saw that Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio is required and recommended, but as it comes as part of the ODAC, he asks if I want to install the client or server. Who does?
And the situation would change if I also need to connect to a remote (Oracle 10 g) database? I'm looking forward to avoid having files tnsnames everywhere, if possible, but I would need a separate Oracle client installation in both cases?
Thank you very much
NickYou must install the "client" of the ODAC option in a separate House if you want that the features of Server Explorer.
You can connect via TNSNames without additional installation. %ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin is a well known place that the customer checks, and you can also specify the directory you want the tnsnames.ora to get picked up for via an TNS_ADMIN environment variable.

can you suggest a better way to store and read Arabic oracle database?
Hello
can you suggest a better way to store and read Arabic oracle database?
My oracle database is Oracle Database 10 g Release 10.1.0.5.0 - 64 bit Production UNIX HP - UX ia64.
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET AL16UTF16
NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
NLS_TERRITORY AMERICA
WE8ISO8859P1 NLS_CHARACTERSET
I currently stored data in field nvarchar2. But I'm not able to view it properly.You're still on 10gR 1, so even when NVARCHAR2 is used, when you insert characters, these are first converted into WE8ISO8859P1, which does not support Arabic.
It is not a problem to read the characters, if they are properly stored.
If you have a fundamental problem with normal data characters. -
What is the difference between oracle and peoplesoft databases
What is the difference between oracle and peoplesoft databases. How the tables of metadata between the two relate?
According to my understanding, peoplesoft database exists as a schema on the oracle database.
Please correct me if iam wrong.user4212454 wrote:

The second statement, I realized that each schema created its specific use.
for example, peoplesoft had 1000 objects (including the peopletools and application and system tables), each schema created above has access restrictions different on these database of 1000 objects. Am I wrong?Yes, each schema has its own purpose and the grant for objects of Peoplesoft. SYSADM is the owner of the objects of Peoplesoft with all rights. PS is the owner of one and same table, PSDBOWNER and the PEOPLE is granted to select three of these tables (PSOPRDEFN and PSACCESSPRFL PSDBOWNER).
In addition, for DB2, what are the patterns of PeopleSoft?
It is located in the installation documentation dedicated to the database you want to work on:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E15742_01/PSFT/HTML/docset.htmlThe first statement, could you please elaborate on the part highlighted.
A "Peoplesoft database" is nothing, it's terms to refer to a database containing everything you need to make a Peoplesoft application running.

Automation of database startup and shutdown of AIX for several databases
Hi I'm 9i running two databases with oracle different holmes on an AIX server.
Now to implement the automation of start and stop database, I found the oracle on http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A96167_01/post-inst.htm#i1035384 documentation.
I'm not sure about step 3
3. Add the dbstart script in the file/etc/inittab:
# mkitab ' oradb:2:wait: / bin/su oradb - c | ' / $ORACLE_HOMES/bin/dbstart.
For example my ORACLE_HOME for the 01 database is /ora_01/product/9.2
and the ORACLE_HOME for the 02 database is /ora_02/product/9.2
I have 2 entries in the initab?
mkitab ' oradb:2:wait: / bin/su oradb-c|/ora_01/product/9.2/bin/dbstart.
mkitab ' oradb:2:wait: / bin/su oradb-c|/ora_02/product/9.2/bin/dbstart.
Thank youHi br00klynZ00
No doubt dumm, just stupid answers.
Yes, we should do as root. You are a substitute to oracle ' su - oracle ' so no worries.
Can we consider this question as answered? ;-)

Database Oracle from Windows to Linux migration
Hey guys,.
I'm database oracle 11g R2 in Windows 7 migration to Red hat 5 (64-bit) Linux using RMAN by transport.sql file. I installed Oracle 11 g R2 on the two system.
But the problem is that my data files are scattered in different locations (I mean that all are not in the same directory) and I did not have enough space to all copy in the same directory. Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to write several locations as value the NAME of FILE DB CONVERT parameter when creating transport using RMAN script, I know the command for a directory only.
RMAN > Convert the new database database linuxdb
script of transport for "C:\test\transport.sql."
db_file_name_convert 'C:\oracle\oradata\orcl\' "C:\test".
the platform "Linux IA < 32 bit >";
This command allows to convert all the files in the database that resides in the orcl directory and place them in the test directory. But in my case, all the files are not in the directory orcl
and I can't copy other files in there because I don't have enough space on the entire system.
I can't create transport script several times because it is incorrect.
I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.
You can specify as many pairs of directories as needed
db_file_name_convert = ('/ u01/ora/files ' ' / u02/ora/files ' ' / u01/ora/file9 ' ' / u02/ora/file9 ')

Despite the remarks about oradim, you will generally need to run explicitly. Take your question at face value, the procedure is quite simple:
1. install the oracle RDBMS software
1.1 you can choose to have a database created as part of the installation, or not. If you choose to create one as well as the installation, the installer will call the utility "dbca" once installation is complete. DBCA is "Database Configuration Wizard" and utility oracle for creation, deletion and some configurations of databases. This makes things easier, but everything can be done manually by calling "oradim", then from sqlplus and issue of an appropriate CREATE DATABASE statement followed invocation of several sql scripts located in ORACLE_HOME\rdbms\admin.
2. to create a database after the software installation is complete (your first database, or an extra), just run the utility "dbca.
The dbca utility will take care of configuring the necessary Windows services.

Doubt on single server multiple vs single-server instances several databases
Hello
Here is my banner for oracle:
Oracle banner:
Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production
PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
"CORE 11.2.0.1.0 Production."
AMT for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
When you use the dbca command, it creates a new database. So is it possible to have multiple databases at the same time running on the same server?
I tried this option where I had created 2 databases A and B both running.
He kept to launch ' ORA-12520: TNS:listener could not find a Manager is available for the type of requested server "intermittently. I have not found any useful document to solve this because of which I ended up recreate all objects in database B to the database A. Data Base A therefore has its own schemas and schemas from database B.
Below are examples of files tnsnames.ora and listener.ora, sqlnet.ora trying this option:
sample tnsnames.ora file.
A =.
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = abc.com) (PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = A)
)
)
B =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = abc.com) (PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = B)
)
)
Listener.ora, example:
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = abc.com) (PORT = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = CIP)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
)
)
ADR_BASE_LISTENER = C:\OracleDatabase
SQL Net.ora:
NAMES. DIRECTORY_PATH = (TNSNAMES, EZCONNECT)
ADR_BASE = C:\OracleDatabase
Lsnrctl status showed services for each database.
All the world is facing this problem? Can we have multiple databases on a server with a listener running on the same computer? So my Tnsnames.ora file would have 2 strings of connections and file listener with an entry of the listener.
Can you please share your tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files?
Also, how to create a single database with multiple instances on the same server? Please tell me about the document that contains an example of this.
Yes, you can have several databases (running different ORACLE_SIDs) the ORACLE_HOME even on a single server.
I suspect that the ORA-12520 error was the result of certain constraints of resources (cpu, memory or i/o) resulting in the inability to create a new database session.

target, auxiliary and catalog database
Hi gurus,
I need to have a few lights on the target, auxiliary and catalog databases.
especially difference between the auxiliary and the database catalog.
Kind regards
Manish
Hello
Your target is the database that you are backing up, and in the case of a duplicate database, it would be the source database. Example below is when I connect to the target database, which is what I want to save (note that below I sign in using the catalog in which case we'll use the controlfile and no catalog).
oracle:/home/oracle:testdb #> rman target / Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on Mon Feb 17 15:24:02 2014 Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. connected to target database: testdb (DBID=2759143361) RMAN>
The auxiliary database is the database which, in the case of a duplicate database, the database that you duplicate would be. So, for example, that if you configure a database ensure using the duplicate database (and maybe double active database database) the main database would be the target and the database pending would be the auxiliary.
The catalog database is when you use a RMAN catalog instead of using the control file... Note below to specify the catalog when you connect and it says 'connected to the datalog retrieval database' once you have connected that he did not in the example above when you signed in using the control file. In this case, the rman information is stored in the control as well as the datalog database file. (Control NB file is always the primary source").
oracle:/home/oracle:testdb #> rman target / catalog rman/password@rcat1 Recovery Manager: Release 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on Mon Feb 17 15:24:16 2014 Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. connected to target database: testdb (DBID=2759143361) connected to recovery catalog database RMAN>
There are several reasons why a catalogue database is used... for example:
(1) it can store scripts.
(2) you have a central repository for all of your databases.
(3) you are not limited as to how long you can store your backup information. Thie is determined by the controlfile_record_keep_time parameter when you use the controlfile and you type can be set quite high but then your controlfile can grow quite large as well.

Creating user in several databases
Hi all
I want to create a user in several databases (100 +)
Could someone can share the script.
Oracle DB Version - 9.2.0.6,9.2.0.7 & 10.2.0.2
OS - Hp Unix.
Kindly help out me of this.
Thank you
