Automation of database startup and shutdown of AIX for several databases
Hi I'm 9i running two databases with oracle different holmes on an AIX server. Now to implement the automation of start and stop database, I found the oracle on http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A96167_01/post-inst.htm#i1035384 documentation.
I'm not sure about step 3
3. Add the dbstart script in the file/etc/inittab:
# mkitab ' oradb:2:wait: / bin/su oradb - c | ' / $ORACLE_HOMES/bin/dbstart.
For example my ORACLE_HOME for the 01 database is /ora_01/product/9.2
and the ORACLE_HOME for the 02 database is /ora_02/product/9.2
I have 2 entries in the initab?
mkitab ' oradb:2:wait: / bin/su oradb-c|/ora_01/product/9.2/bin/dbstart.
mkitab ' oradb:2:wait: / bin/su oradb-c|/ora_02/product/9.2/bin/dbstart.
Thank you
Hi br00klynZ00
No doubt dumm, just stupid answers.
Yes, we should do as root. You are a substitute to oracle ' su - oracle ' so no worries.
Can we consider this question as answered? ;-)

Icons displayed incorrectly at startup, the computer is unusable for several minutes
My computer is less than a year, I'm running Windows 7 Professional, and for several weeks my computer acted strangely. When I turn on the screen displays properly, however some or all (it seems to change every time) of my icons appear as these things white paper folded. It continues for several minutes during which I can't run any programs, but I can use my mouse pointer and the loading symbol when I move the taskbar. After a 5-10 minutes (I've not timed, but it might be compatible), the icons to revert to the normal and my computer seems to work perfectly well. Any idea what the problem might be?
When a Windows computer starts in place, some of the non-Windows installed on the computer programs also starts alongwith. In your case, it seems that some of these startup programs is responsible for the delay. You can disable startup programs and services non-Windows on the computer by placing the computer in what is called a "Clean-boot". If the problem does not appear in the clean boot state, you can track Windows service start defective or not programme following a policy of division and conquere.
This process takes a little time. I would say by following the instructions in the following article to diagnose the problem:

Satellite 2450-201: slow startup and shutdown

I HAVE DEFRAGED MY PC AND ALSO OPTIMIZED MY MSCONFIG STARTUP ITEMS AND EVEN THE BIOS UPDATE.
THE RESULT IS EXTREMELY FASTER WHEN I CONNECT AND ACTUALLY UNDER WINDOWS BUT THE SAME OLD VERY SLOW STOP AND START TO WHAT I DO.THE WINDOWS BAR GOING ALONG AT LEAST 15 - 20 TIMES TO HELP START!
Hello
Maybe you've connected to some external devices to slow down the start-up procedure. You can also try to disable all the hardware components you n t need (modem. IrDA). Also check out which device is defined in a first start time (I hope that the HARD drive).
For slow closing is responsible only running processes that should be forced disconnected. It all depends on your own configuration and you are using external devices.

Startup and shutdown scripts for Oracle R12 in Windows XP
I have successfully installed R12.1.1 in Windows XP and connected to the Vision with no problems. But after restarting my PC, I am unable to restart (I don't know how to restart) services.
I see the other threads that talk about the same scripts in Linux environment.
If anyone knows - how to start and stop the services of R12 in the Windows environment, please let us know.

We have a HP PC with Windows 7, and the normal uses are e-mail, online banking, etc, very few games and these. In the last week, I have been unable to sign my account when I try to do it I wonder an administrator password that I don't have, nor had he ever. I can access some of my files through my son's account but not almost those I need. How can I get my account back once again?
Here you go:
- Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
- Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
- Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
- Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
- Select 'Repair' when prompted.
- When you are prompted, select System Restore.
- Configure Windows in two weeks.
- Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.

Fed up with Mail.
When I open mail it says it is downloading the messages, there may be 2 or 3 messages to load and this is true for several minutes. While showing that it's always getting new messages, Mail displays the message header but not the content, I have to close to stop this lengthy process erratic and reopen it to get the content of the messages. Often Mail load the same message 2 or 3 times, even if I leave the app end its process, Yes, because sometimes it ends.
Is there anyone who has the answer to this?
I am seriously thinking of abandonment of post and take something else to manage my emails.

The problem, or one very similar to it, seems to have something to do with the functionality of cache for the site of DW. A workaround that has helped others is to create a new site and leave it empty then switch to this empty site just before turning off.
If this does not help, I would also try to disable the Cache of the Site all together...
1. go to Site > Manage Sites
2. highlight the site and click the button change
3. go in advanced > local news
4. uncheck the box enable Cache
5. save
6 rinse and repeat for each site

Satellite U - crashes during windows startup and restore cannot fix
Most of the time, but not whenever the laptop hangs when starting windows.
I get a blue screen, a dump file is created and then it restarts and gives me the ability to start windows normally or by using windows recovery. The windows recovery can not solve the problem. When I select the option to open windows normally everything works fine without any problems.
If I restart the laptop, it will never block.
The problem happens about 90% of the time when he walks. The problem started shortly after the purchase of the laptop in October.
Initially, it came with Windows Vista and I was wondering if the problem was with Vista so steeple I've upgraded to Windows 7, but it always freezes on most start-ups. Otherwise, the laptop works very well and I'm happy with it.I suspect that the problem might be with Realtek, but pilots seem to be up to date. My internet security is trend micro.
I was wondering if it might be a hardware problem, when this happens on Vista and windows 7.
Someone has any ideas on what could be causing the laptop to crash at startup?
Hello
To be honest, if this problem occurs on the version of Vista and Windows 7 too that sounds like a hardware problem and it s time for an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop fix it. It of fairly new, so I guess that it s still under warranty and the repair is free.
Here, you can get the closest authorized service provider:

Different behavior between cRIO 'Run as Startup' and debugging run
Hello
I have an application that does a lot of things, including playing a card NI 9213 Thermocouple, which lies on a connected to a RT cRIO target expansion chassis. The application is run on the target of RT. My problem is related to a behavioral difference between opening a connection to the channels of thermocouple in debug (by clicking on the arrow on the VI run) mode and the opening of the connection through a Build specification (by clicking Run as to start).
During execution, the VI wrote in a text file on the hard drive of the cRIO. I enclose the text files, one of the debug mode and a Run as startup mode. I have only two thermocouples connected (ch1 and ch15). From the text file, you can see the connection opens without error in debug mode, but get an error in startup mode. I've also attached an extract showing the VI that I used for the test.
A few notes:
Nothing to do with the VI is changed between each type of race.
The Build specification has the attached VI selected as startup VI, everything else is default
Someone else out there has had a problem similar to this? I feel like the debug mode should act identically to the normal start deployment. Otherwise, what's the point?
Thank you
I solved the problem! Or at least worked around it by setting a different bug. This another bug happened to be the same words that were this bug, to run as a startup. I'll summarize for you:
