  When you try to add a new computer Windows Vista (hqseven) to a Windows 2008 network, I get the following error message... "An attempt to resolve the DNS of a domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Ensure that this client is set to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain. "Last year, I added two XP, a Windows 7 and another Vista box to the field.  I don't know why I can't add my new Windows Vista computer.

  I am able to get on the internet with the Vista PC. I can RDP to the domain controller (hqserver64) or any client. (using the name of host or static IP)  I can also do a ping of the domain controller (DC) or any another computer on my network using the host name.

  After initial search for information, I found the following error message when you do a nslookup from my new vista box.

  Nslookup mydomainname

  Server: hqserver64.mydomainname.net

  Address: 192.168.0.99

  hqserver64.mydomainname.NET cannot find mydomainname: Server failed.

  I do not understand why I suddenly get these error messages when I was able to reach this area in the past.

• Problem to join a domain with Windows Vista Bussiness

  I have my domian with Windows Server 2008 standard, on my network, I have Windows XP, 2000, Win7 and Vista computers and laptops.

  I have no problem to join all computers, but when I try to join a computer or laptop with Vista it keeps giving me this error:

  "An attempt to resolve the DNS of a domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Please check that this client is set to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target area.

  I already do a little research on the web and try disabling IPv6, I also create the computer in the ad before attempting to join the domain, so far without success.

  I played with workstation 10 for about a day now.

  I'm pretty green when it comes to the DNS configuration. The reason for it, for the experience.

  I created a Virtual Server R2 of 2012 and a VM 7 Win machine. I'm trying to join the VM 7 Win the field laboratory.
  I've already promoted the server to be a domain controller.

  The error I get is:

  An attempt to resolve the DNS of a domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Please check that this client is set to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain.

  Not sure what is the cause.

  In the IPV4 properties, I changed the DNS server to use the IP address of the domain controller that I read but still no luck.

  Also how can I set up the network for the VM?

  Come on come on client machine Winodows 7 > network and sharing Center > adapter set it > right click Local area connection and click Properties

  Double-click PTC/IPv4

  In the preferred DNS server, type the IP Address of the domain controller and see if that helps the problem.

  Also check if the firewall is blocking communication. Disable the firewall and check.

• Outside to join two tables

  I had two Tables.APPROVAL_ROUTING_TAB and doc_issue_tab, where APPROVAL_ROUTING_TAB has more lines. I need to make a join of two tables such as all APPROVAL_ROUTING_TAB lines should be displayed (multiple lines) but always connect with the doc_issue_tab. I did an outer join syntax failed.

  Hi Marc,

  Make sure first that your controller has software code 8.0.x or above, if first better it. Here's the code recommended by TAC

  Then, try the UX above deployment guide to begin. Under Advanced tab WLAN, you need to enable "of the first universal ap' in order to use this app provisioning & connect to the AP.

  If you have more than 1 AP, then you must start 1AP using this application. Other access points that you can feed them upward, while AP original is also powered, so they'll use protocal called NDP & start them automatically

• Amount of access points allowed on a 4402 (50 PA)?

  We habe a WLC 4402 race (SW Version 6.0.196.0) which is supposed to support access 50 points.

  It is a solution of WLAN of comments with 2 Wireless LANs that are tunneled through the FW to a WLC anchor that leads to the internet and 1 WLAN which is directly lead to the corporate network.

  For the moment, I have attached... access 47 points and my problem is, I can't tie up more than that.

  I tried to take one of the 47 offline and then I could attached a new. But the limit seems to be 47.

  What can be the reason why 3 AP licenses are taken?

• 6.0.0 - 3634788 VCSA Installer fails on workstations joined to a domain

  I have Windows 7 and Windows 10 workstations as part of an AD domain.

  I install the VMware-ClientIntegrationPlugin - 6.0.0.exe to the ISO VCSA very well (ensuring that this hosts.bak was not present before the installer.)

  The customer integration Plugin inserts the following two lines in the hosts file:

  127.0.0.1 localhost vmware

  : 1 localhost vmware

  I'm going to install the VCSA using any browser (IE, Chrome, and Firefox all have exactly the same problem) and I see this window first (this used to be a "external Protocol;) (Ask'):

  

  Can I specify the host, domain SSO, etc., and the installation program fails to step 6 with 'error in the extraction of profile data.

  

  I can install the VCSA to workstations that are not joined to the domain and workstations that are attached to other areas.

  Any ideas?

  I have it! It was the Horizon view Agent 7.0.0.3634043 ' blocking ' Installation VCSA to step 6!

  When I removed the Horizon view Agent and RDP'ed on the workstation from another machine, the VCSA Installer worked as expected.

  It makes perfect sense too, as agent of the view of the Horizon is the only thing that has been upgraded all Windows 7 and Windows 10 jobs since the last installation of the vCenter Server Appliance

  I just upgraded view server and view composer 5.2 to 5.3 connections. Always running vSphere/vCenter 5.0, but these are listed as supported in the support matrix.

  My related stocks work fine (XP and Windows 7). I tried to add a new Pool of Windows with the last Agent of view 8.1 installed on it but get "view composer agent error initialization state (18) could not join the domain.  The irony is that he actually join to the domain, but the State of the virtual machine to get in an error state, so it cannot be used.

  I opened a ticket with VMware support, and to my surprise, the recommendation has changed for the construction of parent vm for the linked clones. Now VMware recommends for Windows 8 parent VM, that they are not joined to the domain. (they should be only machines of the Working Group).  I hope this helps someone.

• Join TMS MCU fails with "no ip bandwidth...". »

  We are trying to install a telepresence VTC system. We are trying to register the MCU (5320) (4.5) for TMS (14.6). We use a virtual VCS as the doorman. When attempting to add the TMS MCU, we get a warning "no bandwidth set to the system - system has bandwidth IP or ISDN bandwidth..." MSD displays zeros (0) for Ports and bandwidth. We have defined the bandwidth of the MCU on parameters of the H.323 MCU. There must be some little thing that we have not been configured correctly. We rechecked SNMP parameters, parameters H.323, etc. anything.

  Someone at - it have this problem before?

  Areas are used in routing when creating the Conference schedules.  You can assign areas after adding points of termination or infrastructure in TMS, or while you are being added to them.  You can read more about which areas are in the TMS administration Guide, starting on pg 46.

  Regarding your MCU, if you are devoid of multimedia ports, it is probably the root cause of the problem.  Cisco have added to them, you'd only you you receive the product similar to how you added the activation keys and encryption.  If you go to the Cisco Licensing Portal, navigate to obtain other licenses > license of telepresence to return, then enter the serial number of the MCU.  It returns all the keys related to this MCU option if media ports were purchased, they should appear on the screen.  You are looking for something that says "L-5300-4PL.
