Explorer.exe partially stops working

Hello

A weird one.  Brand new Lenovo T530 running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
Machine starts and runs Ok, then go a little strange after "awhile", could be 5 or 10 minutes or hours, just using normal applications of Office 2010 or Office 2013, Windows Live Mail, Chrome, Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer.  Sometimes, using MYOB.
'Strange' always in this case means that by clicking on the start flag icon and typing an application is no longer bring anything in the list.  Just by clicking on start it will display the normal list, clicking on which will bring up the app, but typing shows no results.
Strange also means that, in some of these partial, broken as clicking on an icon in the bar tasks does not open the application.  For example Word
Strange means that when often occurs in Windows Explorer it will display all the photos in the window, still tho also operates to allow you to modify records, select different objects, etc.
Restart this resets until then happens intermittently.  Maybe minutes, hours or a day or two, but still happens.
A quick way to get things working again is to left click on the taskbar (which still works in these situations), open the Task Manager, process open, click left on explorer.exe and end task, and then go to file, new, explorer.exe and everything works again.  Tho if Windows Explorer is opened then that will be closed.
Then work Ok u skills that she then reappears intermittently.
Abreast of updates from Lenovo and Windows.
What the?  Nothing in Event Viewer.  There is no indication the machine think that something happened yet explore acting.
Ideas on what to do know what is happening and how to solve?

Hello

Please go to the Microsoft Community Forums.
You get the error message?

Here are some ways you can follow to resolve the problem:

Method 1:
Check out the link and follow the steps:
Windows Explorer crashes randomly in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

Method 2:
Error: Windows Explorer has stopped working
Note: See "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting"
under more information to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

An upgrade on the spot is the final solution before you have to reinstall the operating system.
Note that it takes as much time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

Hope this solves the problem.

    Hello

The computer works fine in safe mode, I suggest you perform a clean boot in order to check whether a third-party program or service that runs in the background is the origin of the problem.

  • Explorer.exe has stopped working

    Original title: explorer.exe

My explorer.exe has stopped working several times and I tried to start in the Task Manager, but he tells me that he has ceased to work every time

Often, a certain instability in Windows Explorer is due to the defective shell extensions and addons.

Consider using Sysinternals Autoruns or ShellExView. Disable Add-ons and non Microsoft shell extensions and verify the behavior.  If he went, reactivate the disabled extensions/add-ons, one at a time and see if you can identify who may be liable.
Try a clean boot, or boot into safe mode.  The behavior persists?
If you continue to experience the problem, consider creating the hierarchy of following registry keys in the registry:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe\
In the explorer.exe key, create a REG_EXPAND_SZ value named DumpFolder and set the value to%systemdrive%\localdumpsdata.  Ensure that the %systemdrive%\localdumps file exists, and then cause the crash to happen.  It must be a dump file in %systemdrive%\localdumps. Download the dump on your SkyDrive file and provide a link.

Error to ArcSpl.ax as the failed Module points.  This module belongs to the ArcSoft MPEG splitter program.  The module goes back to Wed Jun 14 00:27:26 2006 and is probably not compatible with Win7.

  • Explorer.exe has stopped responding during the slide show.

I am not sure what happened, but I was downloading of images for a slideshow and I didn't notice that my laptop has been restarted due to an update. I thought it would be to find until I started to run into an error with explorer.exe. When I go in the folder of the situation to show them as a slideshow of the pictures, the screen goes black, as it is supposed to and then crashes. From there on, I get a notification that explorer.exe has stopped working. Do you think the problem is a corrupted image file should I remove? It doesn't bother me if I have to because I know where to find them again.

    Hi WyldFyre254,

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

Safe mode is useful for troubleshooting problems with programs and drivers that might not start correctly or may prevent Windows from starting correctly.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If the problem persists in safe mode run clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Step 2: Recreate the slideshow and check that it works very well.

  • WRT400N setup.exe has stopped working

I just got a HP Pavillion desktop computer new with Vista 64 and I have problems installing. Whenever I put the installation disc in the drive it does not load and I get an error message telling me that setup.exe has stopped working and will be forced to close. I even tried to jump the autorun and will my CD-ROM drive and manually select the file setup.exe. The initial splash screen appears and says please wait loading but I never have any more than that because the program crashes. I thought that maybe the drive was defective, but I tried it on a XP desktop and an XP netbook and the disk works fine on both. What gives? I searched this whole Forum and it seems I am the only person with this problem. My new defective computer or is it the user

OK, so I finally understand for me. I did an exploring more of the disc and found a file named setup64.exe and TADAAAAA this file runs. But I still can't LELA to run but hey at least I have everything works now

  • Windows Aero partially stops working

I had a recurring problem with my Windows Vista Home Premium where Windows Aero partially stops working. Some of my open windows lose the glass effect, and some of my tabs look effect. As far as I know, the 3D Flip feature still works in these situations. I wonder what I can do to avoid Aero lose parts of its features... the behavior is strange to me, since I would expect Aero is working completely or not at all, but this isn't the case. In general, I noticed this behavior so that I have more than a single open window and either close an app full screen or return to windowed mode. I read that a sfc/scannow might help restore the Aero feature if it has stopped and I am currently in the running process, but I would avoid the problem altogether, so that must not be repeated in the future (assuming it works).

If it makes any difference, I have a 1 GB Nvidia GeForce 9800GT.

  • sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working

    Summary of the problem

    ---------------------------------------------------

Error message: sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working when you try to open the .sql files

    Description of the problem

    ---------------------------------------------------

Breast of SQL Developer 4.0, I went into Preferences > File Types, find the extension .sql and checked the box that says Open with SQL Developer.  I went to the Associations the value Control Panel in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and confirmed that the current default is set to sqldeveloper64W.  I have used the CMD function for access to regedit, deleted the file associations for .sql and return all preferences.  If the SQL Developer is not already open on my machine and I am trying to open a .sql file, the application starts very well.  If I try to open additional files in the windows or windows Search Explorer, I get an APPCRASH indicating that sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working.  I click close the program and developer sql remains open, but my file does not open.

    Error codes

    ---------------------------------------------------

    sqldeveloper64W.exe has stopped working

Try changing the sqldeveloper64.exe shortcut instead. This will give you the CMD window when it is opened. We'll see if we get interest error messages here when you try to open additional files.

Once you run SQL Developer time away - force look for a 64-bit JDK, you can simply run the main sqldeveloper.exe in the main folder...

  • sqldeveloper.exe has stopped working

I get this message that says "sqldeveloper.exe has stopped working" when I double click on a file .sql using windows Explorer 7. My sqldeveloper application is already running and remains in place and connected to the database server. My two options on this line are 'close program' and 'check online for a solution. " I chose "close the program", but the program does not close. 'find a solution online' does nothing. There is no associated icon .sql files displaying in Explorer. Should there be?
If I use sqldeveloper to navigate to a .sql it will open it. He can't open the .sql files. But I also have to work when you search for files by using windows Explorer.
Anyone have this problem? If so, how to solve it?

You drag the older plants? I don't normally open windows files, but I did the other day and he starts SQL Developer 1.5. I used 2.1 and then several pre-releases from 3 up to production given that I used last 1.5. It seems that associations not updated files.

Maybe you have an old facility, non-working, which is giving you the problem.

  • "Plugin - container.exe has stopped working" error during installation of Firefox 36.0 via SCCM if Firefox is open during installation.

When installing Firefox 36.0 via SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), if the previously installed version of Firefox is open during the new installation, an error, "Plugin - container.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly. Please close the program. This problem occurs only if Firefox is open during the installation, otherwise the installation is successful. Note: I have included a taskkill to 'firefox.exe' in my installation script to stop Firefox runs.

There are new logic in Firefox 36 monitor to stop crashes while the Mozilla Crash Reporter can capture data. This could have the effect of killing her task, I'm not sure. Maybe you have to kill plugin - container.exe before firefox.exe? I'm not familiar with SCCM and it might have a more graceful way to close an application.

  • HPSF.exe has stopped working

My warranty expired on 12/09/2012. HP Support Assistant disappears when the warranty expires. If this isn't what someone has an idea how I can fix?

    Hello

It's nothing to do with your warranty ending, however this can be a fickle piece of software.

    Try the following.

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant using Microsoft 'Fixit' at the following link: this is particularly useful for correcting problems that may prevent resettlement on the machines running a 64 bit OS.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

    Hello

I think that it is a simple case of corrupted registry entries and files that could belong to the TrueSuite Manager software.

I agree with the previous user, and I recommend to reinstall this software again.
You may need to clean the OS before installing the Truesuite again.
In this case, I recommend the CCLenaer. It s a simple and free tool and can be downloaded on most Web sites.

Google and you should find more information.
