join to the domain host seems to break my auto deploy?

This is the second time that this has happened.  Add a host computer to a domain, update my profile host to host to reference, and then everything starts to go wrong.  It is said the HA agent is disabled and after reboot etc he fails to apply the profile of the host to host more.  I had to start all over again with my data center last time... this time I got lucky.  My other host was always counted with the join the domain, I changed my host of reference to the host who does not join the domain, updated the reference host profile and reapplied while the profile for the host that I joined the domain, restarted and all is well again.  Was wondering if anyone else had this kind of problem?

Never, I came across this problem. But it seems that there is something wrong with your original host profile.

Especially, if the BIOS update fails, the laptop cannot start and assistance of the ASP is required upgrading the BIOS is always risky and should be done with care.

Our server (SBS 2003) crashed and I had to rebuild it and then I had to join a laptop in our area and now all the files for this person is missing.  We use the option synchronize folders when this person was missing and now I wonder where all these files are gone?

Yes it should be no problem to joing your Windows 2003 virtual machine to the domain - this will not affect your VC server.

  • Computers Dell laptops E5520, joined to the domain with the applications installed suddenly forget everything and goes back to the first bootup users

I have a Dell laptops 5520 during the first boot, I created an Admin account and set the timezone, etc.  Then I joined laptops to our AD domain, software installed, such as Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe.  Laptops have worked for a few weeks and now containing several profiles of my domain users.  All of a sudden, some laptops from start-up to the original Admin Login (the first user created).  When I connect, the NetBIOS shows is more that the laptop is part of a domain, and none of the applications that are installed are listed in all programs more (programs and profiles of school boards, however, still exist on the hard disk).  I have system restore disabled by GPO, and I limit the applications of the Panel as well.  I contacted Dell and they have never heard of this issue.  If I join the laptop to the field, he finds the original computer account but this does not all installed software and profiles will reappear.  Here is Windows 7 Professional on a Windows 2008 domain.  Any ideas?

  • VCenter should be joined to the domain?

Is there a reason to join vCenter in the field? I don't want Windows Server it works on but in vCenter itself? Windows Server is already part of the field. I just took the VMware class and remember it being a setting in vCenter to reach the field or something similar, but I can't. Can someone tell me where this setting is and what exactly its used for?

  • What happens if my computer (XP) joined the domain network?

Hello.  I would like to know a little better on the domain network.  My computer is currently the Working Group on my home network.  I read on the domain network and it is said that

"If you have a user account on the domain, you can connect to any computer on the domain without needing an account on this computer." (from windows help and support)

Does that mean exactly?  This means that if my computer joined to the domain, other computers on the same network of domain can access all the files on my computer (the files that I have has not yet implemented to share)? or does this mean that other computers on the domain can connect to my computer as remote desktop? (I do not want that to happen...)

It seems like a lot that the office uses the domain network and I would like to know how it works.  I read some articles on the field and how to put in place and other things, but I couldn't specify my question.  I appreciate if anyone can help my answer.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Using domain causes a topology around real server (like Windows 2008).

Companies use this topology because of the size of their system and the need for central control.

There is no advantage to using such topology for small home network.

If you use the parameter field and that you do not have a General with your network domain server will not work correctly.

  • Unable to join u1 VCSA 6 back to the domain. Error messages are not found anywhere online.

I was wondering if someone can help troubleshoot me SSO with a VCSA to 6u1 running. PLEEASE!  This has been updated about a week ago of 6.0 and had no problems until he decided to collapse Monday. At this time, that we had problems with our domain controllers, I don't know if it was related.

Monday Veeam backup by using a domain account to access VCenter has stopped working. Authentication failure. Try to connect to VCenter WebClient with SSO that weI made for years also failed. Signature as root for web client has as well.

Signature to the C++ client worked for connections without any problem, but really limited what we can do. So I spare the domain and attempted to join without success.

I can sign into the web client with [email protected], you try to join the domain as we did before the results in "Idm client exception: error trying to join AD, code error [31], user..." " - no reference to error 31 anywhere. Yes the username in the form of [email protected]. The computer account has been recreated on the field. Connectivity to the domain controller is fine, because if I put the password wrongly, it tells me that authentication has failed. All services on the VCSA are started with the exception of the function Auto-déployer.

I tried via SSH connected as long as root (it tells me that [email protected] has no shell access) domaine.net/opt/likewise/bin/domainjoin-cli join [email protected] translated by ERROR_GEN_FAILURE [code 0x0000001f], yet once a mistake that relevant results.

I am unable to create beams journal via the web client or via the C++ client, I suspect because space on the VCSA which I was not able to solve. Execution of the VSAN performance monitoring seem to chew place until I turned it off, but haven't found all the resources online as to where to find them or how to remove.

I have a snapshot that was done before I got updated to 6u1 8 days ago, but I'm afraid that everything I have done since then will crumble. This VCenter manages a VSAN production, and I can't get him off.

Please can someone untangle me this mess? With the lack of informative error messages I don't know where to start!

    Thank you

    B

Woohoo! I finally thought to it.

To start with I've implemented a new VCenter server as a trial, nothing configured, just deploy the iso 6u1. I found that it was not automatically joined to the domain and has attempted to do. SAME ERROR! So the problem is not with VSphere. In recent weeks, we introduced two new DCs R2 2012 and retired from one of our 2008 R2 domain controllers. I closed the DCs 2012 and tried again with only the old DC on the network. It worked! I was able to join the VCSA test to the field, and after a reboot because the button leave available domain.

So I she disjoint and then attempted to join the domain when running wireshark on 2008R2 domain controller's NETWORK card. Then, I grew up a DC 2012R2, waited 10 minutes or so close the 2008R2. Yet once, I ran wireshark but this time on the 2012R2 server's NETWORK card. I compare the results of a successful or not join and I saw that the 2012R2 DC has been a lack of outgoing SMB packets to the VCSA. The Server service is running on the domain controller in 2012, but the Microsoft recommendation has been to change startup srv.sys from automatic to manual on 2012 R2 server. I thought it was odd at the time, but we have changed when we put in place the new domain controllers to meet the BPA. I compared it to the registry setting on the 2008R2 domain controller. which has been set to automatic startup.

So to allow VCSA to join the domain when you get the error 31, cancel it

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/21104.SRV-sys-should-be-set-to-start-on-demand.aspx

on your server 2012R2 DCs if it has been applied it causes domain join failure.

Command prompt: sc config srv = auto start

    or

    Register: HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\srv\ from 3 to 2

I hope this saves someone else the time it took me to understand! I guess I can cancel my request for support now...

  • Cannot join Windows Pro 8.1 to the domain

    Hi all

We run a Server SBS 2011 Standard, a few weeks ago, all machines Windows 8.1 invited to authenticate to access the network mapped drives when connected. I tried hard to pull the issue with no luck. I deleted the machine to the domain and received the error "the specified domain does not exist or could not be contacted", but he joined the field and after the reboot you can connect to mapped drives, but when you restart again the problem is back you must enter your credentials and a password to access the mapped drives It does not work after the first restart when the computer is joined to the domain.

    Here's a few thing I tried?

1 Verify that the dns server address is correct

2 tried to join the domain with a static IP address

3 added manually the DNS server address in the NIC

If anyone has any suggestions, please help.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

Test again today and I have checked that the virtual machine used to clone took the INVESTIGATION period out of the machine before I stopped him, but still getting the same problem. I also disabled the XP firewall (this shouldn't cause a problem) and I still have the same problem. The virtual machines created, accounts created in the domain, but the machine is still in a working group. ??

It may be a stupid question, but you have not explicitly stated this: is the snapshot of parent for virtual machines already joined to the domain? It is a difference that often gets overlooked for linked clone pools during their implementation for the first time. For more details, please see the Guide to Administration of View Manager 3.1.
