  I work for a newspaper and tries to create a very rudimentary system to integrate with the web printing.  Very, very basic.

  My idea is this:

  All items on our site have an ID number, with a corresponding URL, so an article can be something like " " http://www.ournewspaper.com/articles/83920 ".  From there, there is a button Edit, you can click on (if you are connected to the Web site), which will take you in the back, where you enter all the metadata for the story (title, author, captions of images, related links, tags, etc).

  I thought I had every story InCopy linked to its corresponding article on the web, so that people could click on the history of the page layout InDesign (either InCopy or InDesign) and run a script that would give them the identification number of the history in our website CMS.  This identification number is registered as a label of the object of the story.  Once the person who is editing history has access to the web page for this same story, they can start typing in all of these metadata, and after that the paper went to print, they can download the story itself (processed by another script I wrote).

  If worst comes to worst, I might have just the script provide the user with the URL for the story, and they can cut and paste into a browser window.  But I have a feeling it won't happy editors.

  So my question is: does anyone know of a way that we can have the script, open a browser and that it points to the appropriate URL?

  Also, if anyone knows of simple and inexpensive solutions that have already been created in this sense, I would be happy to hear.

  FWIW,

  doScript() works in CS5, even when the application is in a modal state and I do not write files unnecessarily...

  This is the approach that I use:

Now, I have a MacBook with the latest version 10.11. I wanted to copy the programs on my MacBook to work also on this computer. I copied the folder with the programs 'Programs' and the folder of the "Library / Application Support / Adobe" on my USB key and pulled on the MacBook in the program folder and the folder of Adobe.   Avoid copying files from one computer to the other. It won't work. You run out of hidden files scattered around the hard drive and interrupt the licensing mechanism.

  Uninstall, run the cleanup tool.

  Reinstall from scratch and enter your serial number.

  -Open

  -the textual elements of loop

  -make the contours

  -Save to PDF

  -Repeat

  If you are not familiar with the scripts, try to save an Action, it can work.

  Whenever we have upgrading Indesign, each document is open, should be saved as. But save as dialog box never displays the folder where the document is stored. Is it possible to configure Indesign to save in where it came from, without us having to go back to this folder in the dialog.

  Because the new versions create new files formats that are not compatible with the old ones. It is a feature to keep you from accidentally overwrite an older file will always be opened in the old version.

  And I just tried with PowerGui (same versions of PowerGUI and PowerCLI you use), no problem.

  Must be something local on your desktop.

  Maybe try a uninstall/reinstall of PowerGUI?

  We currently have a tool that, through the system of script, merges the layers by mask layer groups, exports and then moves to the next group of layers.  There is a custom logic and channel fusion that sometimes occurs in the fusion of a group of individual layers.  These operations occurred in the scripting system (in fact, c# through make calls of direct function through Photoshop), and there are pictures where these operations take about 30-40 minutes to complete on very large images.

  Is there a difference in performance between the actions in this way rather than having these actions occur in an Automation plug-in do?

  Using the DOM or the ActionDescriptor, ActionList, ActionReference API? There is a significant slow down using the DOM when looping through the layers. I have that as something to improve, but for a document with large layers, I would recommend trying to get the layer + layer 100 + value County via ActionDescriptor and loop them in this way. It is however a lot of work! I hope I can improve quickly and you won't have to deal with the drafting of a workaround.
