JS/CS4: Create references from XML-Data

Hi scripters.

My problem is the following:

I am importing and scripts of a XML file in InDesign.

Now I would like to Insert a reference (notes) in my text.

The insertion point is after the element < endnotesign >, the endnotetext itself is located at the end of the document (and is also numbered).

When manually editing the document I chose-> "Insert reference" and then bind it with 'paragraph' then I choose a special definition "endnotestyle", it contained all the paragraphs, I now link the first one and inserting 'paragraph number' (which comes from the numbering of the "endnotestyle"). I have to do after each < endnotesign > element

Is there a way to automate this?

I am a bit confused with the IndesignObjects in ESTK as there are references and hyperlinks that are mixed together in this content.

Thank you in advance for your help!

This is my first fragmentary essay:

function processEndnotes() {}
myIdName = "processEndnotes";
This.XPath = "//endnotesign."
This.Apply = function (myElement, myRuleProcessor) {}
var myInsertionPoint = myElement.insertionPoints [0];
mySource var = myDocument.hyperlinkTextSources.add (myInsertionPoint);

How to set the destination in this case?

var xRefForm = doc.crossReferenceFormats.item ("page nr.");

source var = myDocument.crossReferenceSources.add (myInsertionPoint, xRefForm);
myLink var = myDocument.hyperlinks.add (source, destination);
myLink.visible = false;
Returns true;
}
}

Hey franziska.

Here is an example of the way in which in script using cross references end notes:

Someone suggest me a slightly easier way to insert data...

Thank you...

You're complicating things

A simple MERGE statement will do.

create or replace procedure (proc_upd_email_records)

loc_xml in clob

)

is

Start

merge into e emp3

a_l'_aide_de)

Select id

response

from xmltable)

"/ FAX/EMAILOG.

by the way xmlparse (document loc_xml)

the columns id number way "ID".

, path of varchar2 (250) response 'RESPONSE '.

)

) v

on (e.empno = v.id)

When matched then update

Set e.fax_response = v.response

;

end;

/

But there is no value added by using these temporary tables if you are not at least an intermediate XMLType column (storage preferably binary XML).

• navigateToURL from XML data

(Edited for clarity 13:16's)

OK thanks to Greg, I have this with a redirect built in barchart:

This is my simple histogram:

< mx:BarChart = x "561" y = "198" id = "CapitalExpenditures" dataProvider = "{I}" width = "762" showDataTips = "True" fontSize = "12" height = "371" >
< mx:verticalAxis >
"< mx:CategoryAxis categoryField="@type "/ >
< / mx:verticalAxis >
< mx:series >
"< displayName = 'Spending' xField="@balance mx:BarSeries ' fill = race "{sc1}" = "{s1}" labelFunction = "formatNumber.
Click = "navigateToURL (new URLRequest (rptWebsite))" >
< / mx:BarSeries >
< / mx:series >
< / mx:BarChart >

It works very well, but rather than hard code the URL, I would like to get from XML data that are already loaded into the system and assigned to a XMLList "di". My XML file is structured as follows:

<>projects
"< prName work = hours of 'One-project' = '705.50' rptUrl = ' http://www.google.com" / > "
"< prName work = hours of project 'B' = '370.00' rptUrl = ' http://www.yahoo.com" / > "
< / project >

What I want to do, use the URL of the XML file, under the name of rptUrl as the URL path in my re - direct.

I tried to put everything in navigateToURL (new URLRequest (@rptUrl) "> in but could not compile.")

My confusion is the place where to insert the value in the URL variable and precisely what syntax to use? I have to use e4X for example?

I created this function to my redirection:

public void goUrlTFP(event:MouseEvent):void
{
' rptWebsite =' http://www.google.com "
navigateToURL (new URLRequest (rptWebsite)) return
}

It compiles, but I get nothing in the variable.

I'm using the wrong syntax? I have to do something other than a mouseEvent of my function? Should I trigger the function somewhere else to the click event? I have to browse the file and fill a XMLList or something?

I tried rptWebsite=item.@rptUrl and rptWebsite=ceDs.@rptUrl, but those who could not compile

M.

M, without trying to sound like I'm raggine on you (yet), I'm curious to know how you go about detective your way through the API to come up with possible solutions. What is your thought process? I wonder if it wouldn't you get more if you provide some tips on how to use the API correctly. Teach you to fish instead of giving the fish (for setting the proverb a little).

I certainly did not know the answer to your problem just a few minutes ago, but it's literally what it took me to find what I think can be an answer to your problem.

You have defined your features such as:
Click on a bar chart and have it redirect to a URL that does not exist in the dataProvider of the histogram.

How can we get these data to URL? The first thing to check would be click events. We look at the possible events that can be shipped when clicking the chart element (BarSeries) or component BarChart himself. When you look at the 'click' for the two event I wasn't expecting much in the measure where this event carrying additional information that I might be able to use, it's just a simple click event. And if I did event.currentTarget, there is no property that directly gives me the data I'm looking. However, in the API, I see an event type itemClick ChartItemEvent (under events) for BarChart which seems promising.

Then I look in the API to ChartItemEvent and note that there is a property "hitData" type HitData which seem also promising. Now I look at HitData in the API and see that there is a property "item. It's more likely that the element that is used to render the particular BarSeries I clicked on. So I think that I can easily get the related data on an itemClick event.

I tried and it was of course the data that I expect. I can remember something painfully obvious and much simpler to obtain these data, but I think this thought process shows that with a little effort, you can get a few runs in the API that you will probably have your solution. I doubt there is anyone on this forum who knows everything there is to know about the API. Use the docs, they are your friend.

BTW, what is the other language that you are more familiar with what you're talking about from time to time?

• Can I create an XSD from XML data into a CLOB?

Environment:

Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE on Solaris.

Highly an XML newbie so please be nice!

I spent the past few days pouring through the documentation and various articles, including this one, but... I need help.

I am trying to extract XML data stored in a CLOB and produce a flat file for the user's consumption.

They sent me what they think is the XSD for XML data, but when I look at the data in the CLOB I don't see tags in the XSD.

I would like to produce a XSD based on real data to compare with what they sent.

Is this possible?

I am able to query XML data using the tags that I see in data using XMLTable and it works fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

-gary

Welcome to the side of the world, where you're going to love it and curse, like any other piece of XML technology.

So if I understand correctly, the scope of your operation is to extract information from an XML file and then write this information to the disk, correct?

A few questions

-Why did the XML stored in a CLOB instead of an XMLType column? Without knowing the history of the system, it is a pertinent question.

-What size are the XML? I ask this question, it is because when the XML is stored in the columns of XMLType (relational structure object or XML BINARY SECUREFILE format), then Oracle can parse the XML much more easily when it is stored as a CLOB. If the XML is small enough, you can see no difference in performance between the two.

The Oracle DB itself has no built in the ability to generate a schema from an XML file. To do this, you need to use a third-party tool that has this feature in. For example, XML Spy can do. Other tools as well, but that's what comes to mind first is what I use. The only thing to remember is that the scheme he built is only an XML instance. Other XML instances can be different and not valid against the schema you generated, but still valid against the original schema unknown.

You can save the schema in the database and then use the XML to create an XMLType instance related to the schema and then validate the XML in this way. An example XML DB FAQ and here's another one Re: validation of XML schema

Hope that helps you continue.

• Creating sub XMLList Collection from XML data

Hello

I use three TileList components - A, B and C

Get the data as a single XML from a remote XML data function through a component generator HTTPService

for example: simple XML data:

nodes <>

< node id = "1" type = "a" > < / node >

< node id = "2" type = "b" > < / node >

< = '3' type = 'c' node id > < / node >

< node id = "4" type = "b" > < / node >

< = '5' type = 'c' node id > < / node >

< node id = "6" type = "a" > < / node >

< node id = "7" type = "a" > < / node >

< / node >

I would like to create (group based on the XML attribute ' type') 3 sub list XML collection / XMLs using the received XML (see above) to propose it as a data provider for the three TileList component matching

as:

1 XMLA as a data provider for A tileList

nodes <>

< node id = "1" type = "a" > < / node >

< node id = "6" type = "a" > < / node >

< node id = "7" type = "a" > < / node >

< / node >

2 XMLB as data provider for B-tileList

nodes <>

< node id = "2" type = "b" > < / node >

< node id = "4" type = "b" > < / node >

< / node >

3 XMLC as data provider for C-tileList

nodes <>

< = '3' type = 'c' node id > < / node >

< = '5' type = 'c' node id > < / node >

< / node >

How can I accomplish this?
-Sen

This can be done very concise, with the help of E4X, which allows you to work with XML from child's play.

Here is my example which binds the data provider to all nodes of the type 'a' and that specifies the field of the label of the control set to the id attribute of the node:

http://www.Adobe.com/2006/mxml">

• creating graphs from report data series

I want to add the chart to my report and add a control chart on my report.

I double click on the chart and change the chart type in the chart and edit the series in the chart.

I use data from a correction of values and choose the name of the field in the drop of my data source domain name, but I got following error message.

An error occurred trying to create a graph on this report.

Make sure that the columns selected for the series in the chart are numeric values. Error: The graph could not be generated as a result of an error in the graphics engine.

I tried to select query data. I have to build my report query.

I use a stored procedure for this report, so I need advance to build my application once I use the stored procedure, and then Report Builder warn me that this clears all the fields to recreate fileds.

I would like to know what is the correct procedure to create chart for the report.

Your information and help is much appreciated,

Kind regards

Please forgive me, never personally, I used the method described in the link I provided. I looked at how I have done the same thing and I have done it differently.

Click on your chart in Report Builder and in the window Properties give it a name like MyChart.

Then change your CFML as follows:

• Preservation of cross-references from XML

Hi all

I am back and forth of structured Frame in XML format and can not figure out how to do FM restore my cross reference targets.

My edd shows the < xref > element like this:

Element (reference): xref

List of attributes

1. name: XrefTarget IDReference optional

The DTD has been generated by the framework of ESD and shows the following < xref > definition:

<! Xref ELEMENT EMPTY >
<! ATTLIST Xref XrefTarget IDREF #IMPLIED
format CDATA #IMPLIED
srcfile CDATA #IMPLIED >

Read/write rules should not be held, but after that it did not work without specific rule, I've included this one:

element 'xref' {}

is part of fm of reference;

the 'XrefTarget' attribute is fm property reference identifier;

'format' attribute is the reference property fm formula;

}

The XML output (with or without the rules of read/write, which doesn't seem to make a difference) show this:

< xref format = 'NumberRef '.
srcfile = ".. ' / RepGeneral.FM #t - replace - reactive - rotor '/ >

The @srcfile is generated by the framework. What is worrying is that @XrefTarget is not here. And indeed, when I read the XML code in frame, < xref > comes with the correct format but no content in its @XrefTarget. I tried everything and I'm just a little upset by default so-called intelligent behavior of the image. I don't want to enter the API programming, I want to just framework to do what it claims to do by default. If I need to make changes to the ESD rules or read/write, I'll do it, but I'm not finding useful information on what is expected exactly here.

Anyone?

Thank you very much in advance

Jang

Looks like I'm the only one doing this?

In any case, I tried all sorts of things and stumbled upon the solution: the attribute XrefTarget in the DTD, which is supposed to be of type IDREF is completely ignored by framework. Instead, the combined value of the source and ID file that points to the cross reference is written in the srcfile attribute. And the funny thing is: when I change the XrefTarget to CDATA attribute, all of a sudden, it is used for reference instead of the attribute srcfile. I do not see this reflected in the documentation anywhere, but it works, so I'm happy with that.

Ciao again.

in Chile, the decimal point are ', 'no'.', the xml data table is OK for us

You do not understand.

Regardless of the locale, numeric values limited by a type of data XS: Decimal must use a point in a correct XML representation, otherwise, the document is not valid by the XSD.

(3) TO_CHAR (...) the code is part of a procedure

Again, do NOT build a dynamic path like that.

Why not just move through the records returned by the query (if you need close at all)?

FOR rec in)

• Insert XML data from the Table-> back to null

Dear Experts,

-I have table xml as below:

Example of CREATE TABLE (XML_spec XMLTYPE);

Insert in the example
Select ' < name of Message = "dataStaticInvestor" type = "IncomingMessage" >
< name of field = "batchReference" > OPENINGBATCH000000 < / field > < List name = "data" >
< = record name "data" >
< name of field = "externalReference" > 01234567890aaaaaaa < / field >
< name of field = "participantID" > OD001 < / field >
< name of field = "participantName" > EQUITY SECURITIES INDONESIA, PT < / field >
< / recording >
< = record name "data" >
< name of field = "externalReference" > 01234567890aaaaaaa < / field >
< name of field = "participantID" > OD001 < / field >
< name of field = "participantName" > EQUITY SECURITIES INDONESIA, PT < / field >
< / recording >
< = record name "data" >
< name of field = "externalReference" > 01234567890aaaaaaa < / field >
< name of field = "participantID" > OD001 < / field >
< name of field = "participantName" > EQUITY SECURITIES INDONESIA, PT < / field >
< / recording >
< / list >
< / message > ' double.

Select * example;

create table hasil1 (c1 varchar2 (500), c2 varchar2 (500), c3 varchar2 (500));

-This step I create the procedure to insert xml data into the table as the batch.

DECLARE
x XmlType;
BEGIN
Select XML_SPEC in x for example;

insert into hasil1
SELECT
p.Extract('/Record/Field/@externalReference').getstringval (C1),
p.Extract('/Record/Field/@participantID').getstringval (C2),
p.Extract('/Record/Field/@participantName').getstringval () as c3
TABLE (XMLSequence (Extract(x,'Message/List/Record'))) p;
commit;
END;
/

-when the result of select hasil1, the output is back 3 rows and 3 columns, but all data is a null *.

Best regards
Sigcle

You don't explain what output you need, but I guess something like this:

SQL> insert into hasil1 (c1, c2, c3)
2  select x.c1, x.c2, x.c3
3  from example t
4     , xmltable(
5         'Message/List/Record'
6         passing t.xml_spec
7         columns c1 varchar2(500) path 'Field[@name="externalReference"]'
8               , c2 varchar2(500) path 'Field[@name="participantID"]'
9               , c3 varchar2(500) path 'Field[@name="participantName"]'
10       ) x
11  ;

3 rows inserted

SQL> select * from hasil1;

obj.subtxt = node.childNodes [i] Sublst.ChildNodes(1).ChildNodes(0) [j]. Attributes ['txt'];
obj. Subframe = node.childNodes [i] Sublst.ChildNodes(1).ChildNodes(0) [j]. Attributes ['frame'];
temp_array.push (obj);
}
GlobalVarContainer.my_array.push (temp_array);

}

If I add - trace (GlobalVarContainer.my_array); -to code the outout is

[object Object], [object Object], [object Object]
[object Object], [object Object], [object Object],.
[object Object], [object Object], [object Object],.
[object Object], [object Object], [object Object], [object Object]

but trace (.txt [i] GlobalVarContainer.my_array + "array"); or trace (GlobalVarContainer.my_array [i] [0] .txt + "array"); no results.

need advice to move forward from here.

Thank you

What I meant is that if you load the XML e4x, you have to analyze in a table to use it. You can retrieve the syntax of e4x XMLList and use it directly in your code. You can treat the XMLList almost as you treat any array using a for each loop for example.

Take the code below as an example and adapt it to your needs:

var mainMenu:XMLList = this.testXML.menu;

for each {var menu: XML (in mainMenu)}

trace ("Menu:" + menu.@txt);

You can use your logic to create menu main point here

var mynavItem:Navitem = new Navitem (0, spatie * i, GlobalVarContainer.my_array [i] [0], [i, 0], false, true);

this.holder.addChild (mynavItem); ABLE TO VIEW THE MAIN MENU

var items: XMLList = menu.children ();

If (items.length () > 0) {}

for each {var point: XML (in the points)}

trace ("point:" + item.@txt);

Logic of creation of subitem here

var mySubnavItem:Navitem = new Navitem (dash, spatie * (i + 1 + j), GlobalVarContainer.my_array [i] [2], [i, j], true);

this.holder.addChild (mySubnavItem); DISPLAYS ONLY THE LAST ENTRY IN THE SUBMENU

}

}

}

• Combining XML data from a LiveCycle form in original form

Hello

I found a lot of questions on the subject but very few answers...

I create a new form in the designer (Dynamics and grows to the size, etc.) who died and has now been returned (about 15 or 20 copies). Some chose to return the PDF saved for me since I had extended rights of use to the reader, another sent the XML data. I have compiled the form returned (in Adobe Pro 9) and everything looks good, but now I also want to be able to view all THE answers to a given domain in the original shape/model (or at least together in a cell/field any). In the upper part, I can select a line (this is a suite of XML from a returned form data) and Adobe provides information the original model (shown in the lower pane) with all selected form data, but when I select several lines, the data that a single line appears in the form.

Say a field named "Objective_1_2", I now have 15 answers with multiple lines of text in this field and return in the model of origin (or in any other way), I want to see THE answers of "Objective_1_2" together in a single field.

The result I'm after is to be able to show everything at once without the manual work of reorganization and restructuring of the exported spreadsheet (as seems to be the case at the moment).

Is it possible (keeping in mind that I don't have the option to use the server software for all merge...).

Thanks a lot, a lot.

Cory

This is because each line gets a unique name... so from the perspective of tables each is different.

• Creating XML data server

Hi guys,.

I can't create a server of data to XML files. I have XML files in my local directory and I want to import into ODI. Please let me know the steps for creating a root for the same thing. I can't define the schema and URL parameters. If not, please direct me to any example for the creation of a data server for XML files available on the internet.

Thanks in advance

Hello

To generate an XML in a RDBMS table-

1 topology manager - insert a server data (user name, pwd not required), choose the driver in the form of url "com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.xml.SnpsXmlDriver" and jdbc as ' jdbc:snps:xml? d = C: / abctest.dtd "and if you want to reverse a Xml file jdbc url will be" jdbc:snps:xml? f = C: / abctest.xml.
Note that you should have your placed dtd before giving the location... Click test... It should say 'successful connection '. Insert a diagram logical and physical... also to select your data schema and the scheme of work of gout dow.it shud be somewhat similar to your "root element"... a little...

2 Goto designer--> insert a new model--> specifies the XML technology... global context... standard reverse... all your elements in DTD will be visible as data warehouses... to reverse them.

3. to fill each element, you will need to create an interface. Put the source as Oracle db table and target is your store of XML (any element you wish to fill).

4. by default the PK of the root of your item will be 0.

5 create an interface to fill your second... put element element FK root as 0 and fill in the required columns.

6. use "IKM SQL command append", different rest as target area and put it under Oracle db only.

7. now, create a procedure to create an xml file, like "create xmlfile from a scheme.

8 set this interface on the first, then this procedure in a package and run it. It will create an xml file to the specified location.

9. you can create "n" number of interfaces with the elements of "n" and write in the xml file.

Note: by default after overturning the DTD, it automatically creates the PKs and FKs also order some columns... so that you can tell him the order of the items or subitems in your xml file.

Its always a good practice to reward points if you find the answer correct and useful. This would encourage more people to reply to messages.

Thank you

• extract data from blob field containing xml data big

I'm working on Oracle 11 g 2, 11.0.2.0.3. UNIX database server.

my oracle instance receive large xml data service web ftp, I put this file as blob in a table called TBL_ALERT_XML (ID_ALERT NUMBER, DATE of the TIMESTAMP_ALERT, ALERT_XML BLOB).

My goal is to get data of BLOB content e file put in one or more other tables.

I try with the opening of a cursor on

SELECT XMLTYPE (UTL_RAW.cast_to_varchar2 (ALERT_XML)). Extract (' alerts/points/point / / Text () ') threads

OF TBL_ALERT_XML

without any filter on ID_ALERT.

But I get the error:

ORA-22835: buffer too small for to CHAR CLOB or BLOB to RAW conversion

Please help me, thank you very much

Because the web service is deployed in python and my co worker is not able to call a stored procedure with the parameter xmltype, but only with the setting of the BLOB.

If you can't get around it, so be it. All the less, using CLOB would be better.

However, which prevents you to convert BLOB XMLType entry within the stored procedure and store it in an XMLType column.

To do this, simply use the XMLType of BLOB.

create table tbl_alert_xml)

number of id_alert

date of timestamp_alert

alert_xml xmltype

);

insert into tbl_alert_xml

values)

1

sysdate

xmltype (p_blob

, nls_charset_id ('AL32UTF8') - put the encoding of the file here

)

);

Then, you will be able to execute queries optimized using XMLTABLE.
