Juniper Netscreen SSG20 is directly connected to the Cisco PIX 525.

Hi all, I have a third-party provider to put a Juniper SSG20 VPN device in our network. I want to connect directly to a PIX 525. Someone at - he tried the same thing? Any question, should I be careful?

I have attached a diagram of the proposed provision.

Thank you.

Dmitry

Should not be a problem as long as you know what protocol and ports Juniper use so you can open it on the PIX 525 ACL.

How do I know which is directly connected to an ASA interface? I'm looking for some commands that can be executed on the SAA to find the directly connected Cisco device.

    Thank you

    Boudou

Unfortunately it is not available on SAA for you tell what device is directly connected to it, there is no 'see the neighboring cdp' on SAA unfortunately.

You can check the ARP table and see which is the next hop, but who would only give the layer 3 device, such that there could be a switch between the two institutions.

  • Internet does not connect unless it is directly connected to the computer

    This problem occurred yesterday.

Internet has suddenly stopped working. Things were going to turn power off, then on and distributed. I did check the lights on the modem and the router, but they were all working well. I have plugged on both computers. This does not solve it. I called Charter to see if there was a failure. Unfortunately, it's a message auto troubleshooting which I have materialized with. He had me hang my modem directly to my computer. This solved my problems of the internet.

I went to sleep for the night in the hope that the internet, or what the question was, would fix itself. He did not. The internet still works only if it is directly connected to the computer.

There are other people who need to use the internet here. (Invoices, work schedules and other) So maybe it's very much a problem. Any other computer or phone, will work in the House.

What is a router problem or a cable, or...?

If your connection works when you plug the modem but not through the router, this indicates a problem with the router.   This could be a hardware failure or a configuration problem.  A problem with the cable between the modem and the WAN port on the router is possible, but unlikely.  It wouldn't hurt to check if she.  Most routers have a reset button recessed.  I suggest that you reset the router and reinstall as if new.  If this fails, you probably need to replace the router.

Depending on your technical knowledge, you can also log in to the router and check the status information.

  • to reach a server on a VLAN that is not directly connected to the inside interface

    scénarion

    PIX 515

6506 core with VLAN A, B, c. (intervlan routing is ok)

vlanC is directly connected to the inside interface of the fw

    question

How a crowd outside could reach a server ServerA on vlanA.

    Hello

Concerning Point 1, Yes if the roads required for networks connected inside the network is done on pix.

Concerning Point 2, if the IP address that you use within the network is routable (public IP), the command you gave will work. The command indicates that when 10.10.1.10 inside the network host wants to go outside the network, use the same IP address. Because NAT does not occur, the actual address of the server presents itself as the visible address and the address of the host. So if the IP address you specify is not a public IP address, outside world can't access.

  • Direct connection to the view Agent Linux?

Is there an implementation linux plugin for direct connection from the view of the PicoIP client (I use VMware View on Mac) on a Linux desktop?

I just wanted to put in place a set of virtual machines Linux to be accessible by customers to view, Mac. Also intend to do not use a view connection server. I installed a virtual machine to test with Ubuntu top end and configure the Agent as well.

Direct connection is not supported. You must configure a login server in your environment.

  • "Direct connection to the desktop" and external clients

    Hi all

I'm doing a View 4 u1 installation with a connection to the server and a security server. I just want to confirm with the setting to view administrator, check box "direct connection on the desktop.

I find that if I check it, then external clients of internet do not work - can see the office pools, but at launch, the customer will see appear in the taskbar, disappear. When I uncheck, all external clients work very well.

my understanding is that this check box determines whether RDP traffic will be dug by the connection to the server or it will go straigh from the clients to view offices. I though that this setting affects only internal clients. I don't see how it affects external clients that connect through the Security server.

When you look at 'netstat' of external clients, trying to run the office, I can see the threshold to appear when the customer view disappears, it will also disappear. Looks like when the box is check (direct connection), the client view external attempts to establish the RDP directly on desktop computers, apparently, it won't work. So, how can a direct connection for internal clients only?

    TCP 192.168.20.2:56473 winxp - 04:ms - wbt-Server SYN_SENT

    any ideas?

    Thank you

    Ming

In our environment, we have our external users (Security Server) use a broker who has direct connect disabled while internal users use a different set of brokers that are defined to use direct connect.

  • Unable to connect to the Cisco VPN you use native client: El Capitan

I'm unable to connect to the Cisco VPN using native client server Cisco OSX via IPSec. Before the upgrade for connections VPN El Capitan has worked without any problems. VPN uses the shared secret of group. It seems, I get the error "raccoon [2580] ': could not send message vpn_control: Broken pipe ' during the connection."

When I upgraded to El Capitan, VPN connection has stopped working. I tried to do the following:

    * connect using the old work VPN connection: without success

Config: Hand [server address, account name],

AUTH settings [shared secret, the Group name].

Advanced [mode to use the passive FTP = TRUE]

    * Add new VPN connection using L2TP over IPSec: without success

Config: Hand [server address, account name],

Authentication settings [user authentication: password, identification of the Machine: Shared Secret].

    errors:

"raccoon [2580]: could not send message vpn_control: Broken pipe"

VPN server is high and does not work and accepts connections, this problem is entirely on the client side.

  • Unable to connect via the Cisco VPN Client

    Hello

I have configured remote access VPN to ASA and tries to connect via the Cisco VPN Client 5.0

I am not able to connect and watch the journal on the SAA

ASA-3-713902: Group = xxxxx, IP = x.x.x.x, withdrawal homologous peer table is placed, no match!

ASA-4-713903: Group = xxxxx, IP x.x.x.x, error: impossible to rmeove PeerTblEntry

ASA does not support the K9 i.e. VPN - DES is enabled and VPN-3DES-AES is disabled.

    What could be the reason.

    Concerning

Hi, I had this same problem, here is the solution:

When you perform a debug crypto isakmp 255, so you see that the cisco vpn client does not support SHA +, you must use MD5 + AN or sha with 3DES/AES.

Be careful, this debugging is very talkative, but that's the only way I found to get ITS proposal on debugging.

Well, change your strategy using MD5 isakmp / OF would do the trick.

  • Unable to connect to the Cisco VPN using the branch line

    Hello

We use Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07.0290 to connect to our servers. We have a Sonicwall NSA2400 FW and we have 2 ISPS. We have configured load balancing on firewalls in mode 'Spill-Over '.

So whenever the 1st line is on full charge, it will automatically moves users on the 2nd line.

The problem that we face here is the users who get 1st line ISP, they can easily connect to the client VPN Cisco IP, but the users who receive the IP of the 2nd line of the ISP, they are not able to connect to the Cisco VPN Client. It's really annoying because everyone should be able to connect.

It will be really great if someone can help me as well.

    Thank you

PS: If Exchange us the line of Sonicwall haapens scenario of Vice versa as mentioned above.

    Hello Sam,.

Correct me if I help you,.

In your network that is inside the firewall, you are trying to connect to Cisco VPn client resides outside your network/Public network.

If the above is the question.

Please check the routes and roads of sonicwall priority.

    example:

Isps1: the value of the metric as 1 for traffic destined for cisco VPn IP of the gateway and specify to leave traffic isps1 interface

ISP2: set the metric 1 once again for the traffic to cisco VPn IP of the gateway and specify to leave traffic ISP2 interface

    interface metric 1 source destination

Kindly, please note the useful messages and.

  • Remote Desktop from Win7 not passing is not by the cisco pix firewall, but xp can.

our company lan remote office work like this:

    Win7 for win7 ok

    Win7 for xp ok

    XP and win7 ok

    XP to xp ok

Which leads me to believe that all the parameters and features of firewall and rdp pc work fine.

our remote users connect via the cisco through our cisco pix vpn client business and Remote Desktop works like this:

inside lan xp ouside xp OK

inside lan xp ouside win7 OK

    Here's the problem:

inside to outside win7 win7 ==> does NOT connect to (rdp that is)

inside win7 for xp outdoor ==> does NOT connect to (rdp that is)

External clients CAN of course accept rdp because it works when initiated by the xp machine.

ONLY win7 machines cannot use rdp through the cisco firewall

Yes, the dns resolves properly throughout.

Yes, remote desktop IS active (Yes, some may ask me that...)

Ping is not allowed through the firewall, so it makes no difference.

the result is the same whether the win7 firewall is on or off.

all the necessary pc firewall settings are good, as demonstrated in the first part.

Why can you connect the NO Win7?  but the XP machines?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I think that there are some weird setting in Win7 that didn't exist in winxp.

  • Drivers to be used on networked computers that are not directly connected to the HP Laserjet M1536dnf MFP

Hi, I had problems connecting to computers on the network for printer. The printer is HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf MFP. The computer that is connected to the printer directly via USB is fine. I downloaded solution complete driver installation on the site of hp, them and everything's fine. the problem is with the computers on the network, they cannot detect even the computer to add printer. And I have enabled file sharing and printer sharing advanced options of sharing on all computers. I also tried to install the same drivers I used on the local computer on the network computers, but its does not work. Please kindly advise me on which particular driver should I use or the solution.

for this one, there was a simple solution... I forgot one small thing. After the installation of the complete solution from hp printer drivers on the computer connected to the printer via the usb port you then go to control panel > view devices and printers > click with the right button on active printer installed > printer properties > sharing > click on the list to the Director. that allows other computers on the network to view the printers.  was a bit stupid coz the solution was so simple.

  • NAT9914 - direct connection to the GPIB bus

    Hello

I have some experience with NAT9914xx.  I understand, from various sources, this ASIC is connected to the GPIB bus through a Transceiver ICs, i.e. it SN75ALS160 and SN75ALS162.  While I'm waiting for the part, I wish I can perform some tests.

So here's the question: If the only devices exist on a GPIB bus is my test Board and a GPIB equipment, can I have the NAT9914 on my board test connected directly to the GPIB bus without using the transceivers?

    Thanks & best regards,

    Tan of WH

    Hello

These transceivers are absolutely necessary to communicate with GPIB instruments.  It's why they're in the hardware section of the manual 9914.  Transceivers will display correct tension/line transitions.  Without them, there will be errors in communication.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: printer directly connected to the Internet

I'm trying to register for the HP ink cartridges.  The application calls a code to write on request.  However, the printer tells me that Web services are not enabled on my printer.  How can I connect a printer directly to the Internet.  I use a USB cable to connect the printer to my laptop.  Can someone help me so that I can complete the application of the ink?  Thank you!

    mcbrighde

    Hello @mcbrighde,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand you are trying to join the instant ink program, but need assistance in obtaining your printers code request. I would like to help.

In order to get the printers claim code, you will need to have the printer on a wireless network. An ethernet or LAN connection will also work. This will give the internet access to the printer so that the ink levels can be monitored.

You need not remove your USB connection for the printer on the wireless network.

The following link will help put your Officejet Pro 8600 on the wireless network.

HP OfficeJet printers - printer wireless (Windows) installation

Once the printer on the network, tap the icon of ePrint/Web Services to enable Web Services and acquire the printers claim code. The icon you are looking for is in the lower left corner of the screen printers.

You can also use the following link to view more detailed instructions.

HP - service and using HP ePrint printers

If you need further assistance or have any other questions please let me know.

I'll be happy to help you.

  • View internal, external direct connection in the tunnel?

Today we use XP virtual machines with view 4.0.1 only internal direct connect (need this to our Sun's rays). But now, we want to use our XP virtual machines to internal direct connect and externally by tunnel via the SSL protocol. What do we have to do for that?

My idea is to install a server security in the demilitarized zone and a new second login view without direct connect server, is the right way?

If so, we can allow the same VM XP for internal and external direct connection in tunnel?

That's how we have our configuration of the environment.  You can configure the type of connection to the server by going to the page view Admin, configuration, servers.
