  OK, I've corrected this BS... found the preferences > language setting by looking at the old installation on laptop... pick any other random language, restarted Lightroom and was in Italian... I could now give a sense... went into preferences > language and English selected, rebooted and now everything seems to be OK... come on Adobe!... this shouldn't happen.

I just updated my desktop PC and reloaded Lr 6, I've been using (and backup) on my old drive for several months (Sept. 15).  After wearing all my files across to the new drive before loading Lr 6 I was surprised when the Prog prompted me to upgrade my Lightroom Catalog 5 catalog at 6, I had assumed that he would have discovered my files catalog 6 already created?  Secondly, and probably related, she forced me to re import these images in Lr 6?  Can someone shed some light on these challenges please.  Bravo, Simon.

  6 Lightroom detects that the catalog already in use previously installed version of Lightroom. If you know where your catalog Lightroom 6, follow these steps: -.

  • Open Lightroom
  • Select file > open catalog
  • Are looking for, then choose your catalog Lightroom 6.
  • Select open

  More recent versions of software Adobe crash rarely older versions. They usually install side by side.

  Sometimes the plugins for older versions do not work on newer versions and often people want to be able to choose when they uninstall the old version.

  If you do not use Lightroom 5, feel free to uninstall it.

  As you have installed SyncToy until you have created the required permissions, uninstall SyncToy, reboot, then reinstall SyncToy.

  If you have a preinstalled OEM license (Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee.

  Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

  Tethered shooting works fine with Lightroom 6.4 on El Capitan.

  You can then go ahead and buy Lightroom and perform the tethered shooting.
