K430 replacement of RAM not detected

My original factory installed RAM was 12 GB,... a quantity of three modules of 4 GB installed in 3 of the 4 places available K430. Recently, information system and Task Manager started showing only 8 GB of RAM installed. Using the Crucial RAM compatibility scanner tool, I ordered two matched new 4 GB modules that are compatible with my K430. I removed a single module of RAM OEM of the slot furthest from the CPU and put the modules two replacement RAM in two slots of RAM farther from the CPU (leaving two OEM RAM modules into the two slots closest to the CPU). So, now, all four RAM places available each have a 4 GB module installed. When I powered up and booted up I found that Windows 10 reported yet only 8 GB of RAM installed. It seems that I made a bad assumption and removed a good OEM RAM module, and one of the OEM RAM remaining modules must be bad. Or another location of the replacement RAM scenario is required? I think that I should remove the OEM modules and put the two new modules into the two slots closest to the CPU, and then install all three modules OEM, one at a time, up to 16 GB recognized installed total RAM (which assumes that there not only one of the OEM modules). I couldn't find any installation of RAM (or recognition and RAM refresh settings) in the BIOS K430. I used Device Manager to search for the hardware changes, and that did not help. Any suggestions on a different strategy to get the maximum installed RAM recognition would be appreciated gratefully.

  • RAM not detected in Windows Pro 8.1 x 64

Hello. I hope someone can answer my question.

I have 2 x 4 GB RAM installed in my computer. Everything works fine under Windows 7, but as I have upgraded to Windows 8.1 earlier, I noticed that the computer recognizes only 4 GB of RAM in the system. What is happening and how to fix this?

    Hi Shah,

This behavior can occur if the RAM is not detected in BIOS or the RAM stick is not inserted correctly.

I suggest you to check whether or not the RAM is detected in the BIOS.

Note: Changing the BIOS / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.

  • HP 8500 replaced, software does not detect printer even though I can't ping / connect to the web interface

    Windows 7 Pro 64

    Reference Dell

    Printer connected via ethernet

software worked well until the printer has been replaced by HP under warranty

in the new device, the screen of the wizard to set the time/language etc.

Software HP does not detect the device and so I can not use all the features.

I can connect to the printer via IP and also tried to put the TCP/IP port with printer static IP. Can I print using this, but the software "suite" does not detect the printer.

Removed all software, cleaned the registry, removed the IP port, re-installed the software, does still not detect printer.

Installed HP printer diags and it passes all the tests, but the suite software HP will always be NOT detect printer.

Tried without firewall, tried with, still can ping printer, connect to the web interface, the static value, always the software does not detect the printer... so whats left to please other than an another replacement warranty which is used to solve the problem, as it is definitely bad coding in the suite.

I also tried downloading drivers/full later on the HP site.

Note that all windows updates are met, reconstruction is out of the question that it is a machine of the company and would almost take me 3-4 days to replace all the software on it (Sage, DW, COFFEE, HMRC).

  • HP Pavilion dv6 (3040sl) - RAM not detected

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop RAM Detection. I had my dv6 for almost 3 years. Never had any problems.

Recently, I realized the performance became worse and worse and could not understand the reason.

Almost by chance today I have real system says is have 2 GB of RAM instead of my usual 4 GB (has always been 4 GB).

Nothing has changed in my pc. No major updates or anything. Does this mean that my RAM is broken? Or can we the mobo RAM slot?

I opened the pc and the two Rams (2 GB x 2) seems ok for me. Not sure what I should do then.

Try removing and reinstalling the memory. Also you can do a memory disk (CD or thumb drive) to test and run memtest86 to check and see if one of the modules is bad. You can also replace the modules into the two slots that need to diagnose if one of the slots is bad. If it shows 2 concerts or combining then two modules are good but a slot is bad. In last resort you can try to clean the gold leads modules very gently with a clean cloth and blowing the memory locations to see if, perhaps, dust arrived and does not have a good connection.

  • RAM not detected in the last two Slots W520 (lack of 8 GB memory)

    Hello Lenovo community!

I need help with something grimly. I ordered my Lenovo Thinkpad W520 almost 4 years with 16 GB of RAM. In other words, that he always had the 16GB since I got it. I had recently made the switch from Windows 7 to 14.10 Ubuntu to OS. I like Ubuntu but realized the feature (games lol) for Windows 7 is a no brainer. I started my relocation and when I started Windows 7 it says I have only 8 GB of RAM!

Even the BIOS shows that there are only 8 GB... Why this is happening? I paid a lot of money for the extra RAM then why he would not be save this is beyond me. I did various diagnostics on my memory nothing helps. If this community could guide me in the right direction that would be great.

I tried the usual stuff to go into Device Manager and uninstall control compliant apci and still he has not solved it self. I've also updated my bios to the newest one. I just wanted to know what could I do so I can see how much battery is left, and if the laptop can recognize I..

    Hello

Usually, the new battery should be detected after the first start, I recommend that you charge the battery while the laptop is turned off. Start the laptop with battery only and check if she recognized properly s.

  • Hard drive not detected 50% of the time to start up

I have a model of Macbook Pro mid 2012 with the following changes:

    • Upgrade to 16 GB Ram
    • DVD player, replaced by Bay and old (existing) 500 GB hard drive for storage
    • Hard drive replaced with 250 GB SSD (Samsung EVO 850)
    • Windows via Bootcamp 10
    • Mac OS X Yosemite
    • Refind installed at startup

Recently, my existing SSD drive gave me a lot of questions - so I'm a new and SuperDuper'ed the existing on it. Formatted the Windows partition and reinstalled Windows 10.

I have 50 GB on the Mac drive and 200 concerts on Windows.

The issue that I am facing is that on every other bootup, the Mac does not detect the hard drive.

If I OPTION-press and hold the button, I see only the 500 Gig data drive (which is not bootable).

Then, I need to restart and COMMAND + R (or D) to enter the internet recovery mode, wait until the choice of network is displayed.

Then when I reboot, I am presented with the original hard drive and multiple start options (Mac / Windows) on Refind.

I don't think it's a matter of refind, as happens even with uninstalled Refind.

This does not happen when I plug my old (SSD by default).

What could go wrong on the new hard drive and I can barely turn the question?

    Thank you.

Check with the support to make the game and ask in their forums known issues.

Who is the only drive that can't read or are there problems with some or all?

    ---------------------

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

    After the foregoing:

References to Vista also apply to Windows 7.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  • Tips for when your webcam is not detected

EDIT: If you have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and experience this problem, please read this document.

Here are some tips to solve a problem of webcam not detected.  I see this question get asked a lot so here are the steps you should take to resolve the problem.

To start, you make sure that the device is detected by Windows.  The following instructions are for Windows 7, but should be very similar to Windows Vista and Windows 8.

Option 1: Check Device Manager to make sure that it works correctly.

    1. Right-click the Start button, type "Device Manager" and press ENTER.
    2. Once charges Device Manager click 'View' then "Show Hidden devices."
    3. Locate the section "imaging devices".
    4. Note If you see the webcam here.
    5. If the webcam is listed, click it and check that it is not 'disabled '.
    6. If the webcam is listed and disabled, go to Option 2.  If the webcam is not listed, you will spend on Option 4.

Option 2: Allow Windows to re - install the device.

    1. All remaining in the Device Manager, right click on your webcam and select "Uninstall".
    2. If you are prompted select "remove driver and driver package".
    3. Restart your laptop and allows Windows to attempt to reinstall the webcam.
    4. If Windows detects the webcam check the operation of the webcam.
    5. If Windows does not detect the webcam and install move to Option 3.

Option 3: Manually install the drivers for your webcam.

    1. This site allows to determine your product/model number.
    2. Visit the Page of Support HP and use this product number to visit the specific page of your product.

    5. Restart the PC.
    6. Check the features.

Option 4: Manually re - detect the hardware.

    1. Disconnect all external devices.
    2. Shut down the laptop.
    3. Remove the battery and AC power.
    4. Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
    5. Reinstall the battery and AC power.  Then turn on the laptop.
    6. Once Windows is loaded back to the Device Manager.
    7. Selection 'Action' and then 'search for material changes.
    8. If the Device Manager detects hardware let settle.
    9. If Device Manager does not detect the see material Option 5.

Option 5: System Restore and system recovery.

It is very well described in this document.  Note that all data not saved prior to a recovery will be lost.

    6 options: Repair or replacement.

If none of these solutions worked for you, it is likely that you are experiencing a hardware failure.  It is possible to replace the webcam or reinstall a loose ribbon cable.  However, it is one of most difficult repairs on the laptop.  If you want to try this repair, you can visit your laptop support page and go to the section "manuals".  There is normally a "maintenance and Service Guide" for laptops, this will cover the disassembly of the laptop.  You can then use HP parts Surfer to locate the part for your laptop.

If you do not want to attempt a repair yourself you can ask HP about a repair.  For customers in the United States / Canada, you can call 1-800-474-6836.  If you are not in this region, you need visit the HP Support Site to get contact information for your region.

I hope that everyone considers this information useful!

  • NB100 - 11G - HARD drive not detected during installation of Windows XP

I have a Toshiba NB100 - 11G with Win XP Home and a 160 GB HD RAM upgraded 1 024 to 2 GB. Recently, I tried to install Win Pro SP3. However, it did not work and the message was that the hard drive was not recognized. I have no problem restoring with the provided Toshiba Recovery CD (which has Win XP Home).

Does anyone have an idea why I couldn't install Win XP Pro? Could it be related to my RAM upgrade? (The only thing I changed.)

Thanks for a response. Sincerely, Allan.

    Hello

The problem is that you integrate the driver SATA Windows XP can detect the internal HARD drive. Otherwise, you get a blue screen or the HARD drive is not detected.

With the help of nLite (freeware tool), you can create a new drive to install XP with SATA driver package. This is described here:

    Hello

    You solved this problem?
Could you install system 8.1 Windows on this SSD drive?

I think that the installation of additional drivers during the setting procedure isn't necessary since Win 8.1 should already contain pilots essential.
From my point of view of the few, there could be a compatibility issue (maybe the SSD firmware update could solve that problem).

What another SSD disk usage? You have the same problem with other SSDS from other manufacturers?

    Your comments would be appreciated.
