  For some reason any, whenever I try to run the sequence editor I get a "system-level Exception" followed by "creating an instance of the COM CLSID {(B2794EF6-C0B6-11d) - 939 C-0020AF68E893 component witch} IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80004005"

  I followed the patches published, including deleting stationglobals.ini, running 'Selector of Version' etc almost nothing works. The exception is that, after a PC restart, it will work, but very slowly; the sequence editor closing and restarting it brings error 80004005.

  I also tried to uninstall and re - install TestStand as well as complete re-installtion of 2014 DS.

  Short of re-formatting my hard drive and to go back I don't know what I can do.

  Any suggestions would be most welcome.

  I use Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider for storage in the database file Microsoft 2000 (.mdb file) for the past two months with no problems, now I get the error '80004005', of Exception occurred in the Microsoft JET Database Engine: could not open the database. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt. I study some forums but could not get a definitive answer as to why this might be happening.

  It is impossible to say when the problem occurred, but as Dennis said that Jet is not a robust database. It falls particularly in situations where is is called to manage large sets of data or be accessible from multiple users at the same time.

  Anyone know how to fix error 80004005? I am using Roxio creator and this error keeps coming back.

  In terms of software programmer 0 x 80004005 means E_FAIL. It's a pretty generic error code, as you can see that it can be used in any kind of error.

  I suggest you contact customer support from Roxio, there are not a lot of Microsoft or anyone outside Roxio can do to solve this error code.

  Latest version of KB905866 will install not (error 80004005) automatically or manually.  I tried the regular and most aggressive FixIt for updates.  I also tried to do nothing works safe mode.  I also tried to block the startup applications and tried all th eproceures again no no is made.  At one point my event log indicated that this update is not supported with this computer (not the event log regular I received after most of the trials).  Any other ideas?  I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32)

  Finally found a solution. I write that I have fought on this issue for more than a year! You can create a restore point before in case it does not work for you, so you can easily return to the original state of your computer.

  Go to http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx and download .net Framework cleanup tool. Run and remove all versions of .net.

  Download the latest version of .net - 4.5 right now.

  Go to this folder: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET.  You are looking for a folder called "Assembly". Rename assembly2 (or something diferent).

  Restart the computer.

  Reinstall the .net program. Now should work unless you have other issues (and you can).

  If you have a real win7 dvd, you can try to boot from this dvd and run a repair (disconnect external devices first)
