  • KB963671 update continually fails to install with error 80070652

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop under Microsoft Vista Home Premium (32 bit).  My Windows Update is configured to be installed automatically, but there is an article that fails to install every day.  The update by using the Microsoft Script Editor (KB963671) fails to install with error 80070652 code.  I read this error code indicates failure prerequisite installation/update, but I don't remember that ever happening.  When I run Office Diagnostics, everything comes out very well.  I searched the Microsoft discussion groups and communities, but have not been able to discover a solution.  Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.  Thanking you in advance for your help.

    Hi U07348,

Have you tried to install the update as a stand alone.
Here is the link to download the update by itself.
If it does not install to proceed with the following steps.
    Step 1
Download and install Windows Installer 4.5
    Step 2

  • Why KB2833941 update continually fails to download

Since 13 July, my computer tried to download the KB2833941 update every time I stop. I have tried several times today and it still fails. This is getting very frustrating and I'm getting very annoyed now. My computer is old and running XP. Do I really need this download, and if not is there a way to stop him from trying to download every day?

I have a problem with both XP boxes, and in the past I got it with the other updates.  It is a long and frustrating problem to solve.

The cause was the update has been replaced by another and installed first.  During the update of the former, it checks the versions of the files and since they are not correct it reports once again the update necessary.  It seems that this is caused when MS releases and update an update.

I guess I should start trying to let him go, otherwise you will see your HD will begin to fill in the following directory \WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temp

up to the time your PC breaks down.  Of course, you can just purge all files in that directory as well.

I got different error codes and followed the advice online for each of them. I renamed my temporary folder updated and deleted all temporary update files and folders as suggested advice. The problem is not yet solved. Updates install fine, but then once I reboot they fail and windows reverts the changes. I now get error code 800719E4. Can anyone help?

. Unfortunately that has not fixed.

It's what you tried, if not, please do it might help

The first thing we do is to disable all firewals / anti virus running. This can sometimes block windows update and therefore cause errors like the one you describe.

  • Updates continually fail to load

I heard and experience what many others have told me that they know the subject of their frustration with the failure messages that are received when you try to update an application.  Specifically, I learned that I have 4 applications that need to be updated.   I click on the link and then to about 50% to 74%, I get a message saying that the update could not load but encourages me to try again.  This has happened for weeks.  Why?  Adobe is not aware or may not inform their subscribers that they are the paying problem and try to solve it?  If I have an update and since I am a paying customer, I get it.  So, Adobe, what is the fix and why you are not engaging in good customer service? This is the message that makes no sense.

    (1) right click on the Finder icon and select 'Go - To Folder' option.
    (2) you will get a text box, type in the following command and then press the 'return '. ("Not to be missed ~ symbol")

    ~/Library

It will open the folder of the user's library.

    (3) then navigate to Application Support > Adobe > AAMUpdater.

Open AAMUpdater and rename the old 1.0 folder - 1.0

Once you have renamed the file.

Launch Lightroom cc, click the Help menu and select updates.

    Always the same?

You can reset the Windows Update components by running the Fixit on this page. But if there is malware present, she will continue to reset the connection to the update servers:

How to reset the Windows Update components

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

Suggest you download and save the Fixit. Then configure the system before the clean boot by running:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista/Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once the Fixit has been downloaded and the system is started in the pure State, check that the native Windows Firewall is now on if a 3rd party firewall has been used previously. Now run the Fixit and choose the default mode. Restart once it's done and see if the system can be connected to the update servers. If he can't, then rerun the Fixit and choose aggressive mode. Turn it back on when he finished the race and updates.

I suggest before you stop and install the updates, disconnect from the Internet, first.

It will take you to a page where you can download a tool that allows you to remove .NET. This seems to be your problem.
I recommend that you first download .NET 3.5, then run this removal tool.
Install .NET 3.5 after the tool cleans the old installation and it should fix the problem.
