keep the files get damaged

Corrupter of the Windows files?

Windows dear people,

The problem:
My computer is - apparently at random - corrupter and folders!
The system:
Since November, I'm under 64-bit Windows 8 (for the last few weeks with Media Center Pro) on my new laptop, an Asus Zenbook UX51VZ with two SSDs as storage space.
What happened:
I was very happy with the new system... until he started randomly corrupting files and directories.
First of all, it happened to some Pdf files. When I tried to open, I got an error message about corrupted files and that they open more correctly.
I thought, maybe it's because Adobe Acrobat or because I synchronize my documents with Sky Drive.
Then, a complete record was broken, where I worked on a new website. I was able to restore access to the folder itself after execution of checkdisk. But most of the files inside were defective after that. Again I thought: maybe its Adobe (Dreamweaver) as corrupted files.
But then, I got the same problem with some movie trailers, I downloaded the Apple.com site.
And last - and particularly annoying - incident made to mp3 files of a soundtrack that I recently downloaded from Amazon. Yesterday, I bought these files and they worked perfectly well. Now I can't access the folder of the most...
Is this a known problem with Windows 8? Or maybe a faulty SSD drive? Is it possible to fix it?
I'm pretty devastated here.

I had the same problem, so annoying!  I simply deleted InstantOn and much...

Then I tried to re - install Adobe, but who has turned to a complicated procedure.

After that I don't know what happened.  All my desktop icons are now Adobe icons in place.   that is The Firefox icon is now replaced by an icon of Adobe.  It is the same for several other desktop program icons. (QuickTime, chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.)

When I try to open the program by clicking on it, I get the above message.

I went to the site of help from Adobe and read a complex string of instructions, including

words like '% pdf', "DWROD" and, for me, other nonsensical words and phrases.

I said all that to say this.  I want that my computer back.  What should I do to do?

    Hello ErikAtkinson,

You can try saving the PDF file on your desktop before trying to open it.
See if that helps with corruption problems.

If this isn't the case, then I suggest that you post in the forums Adobe for Adobe Reader. I have included a link below:

They better be able to help with their product.

From what you say, you are probably unable to start Windows.

In this case, when you start the computer, keep tapping the key "F8" on the keyboard until the Advanced menu comes up. Then choose "Safe Mode".

You will see something like your ordinary, here to enter office "chkdsk volume: /f" (replace with your hard drive volume, in most cases, it's 'c') at the command prompt.

  • There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

    Greetings,

I searched the forums, and this mistake has been examined in the context of how to treat a damaged PDF file.

My question is a little different. The company that I am working has a tool to create what we call "knowledge base articles", i.e. product XML authoring with us help topics. They used this tool from 2008. Files can be attached to a topic. The XML files and attached PDF files is stored in a SQL database. Using the TOC Panel or the search function, relevant topics are retrieved.

When there is an attached PDF, users can view the PDF in the browser or download the file and open it locally.

The knowledge base has been moved from an environment of database SQL 2005 in Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6 for an environment database of SQL 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.

Now that we have the following problem: in some subjects the downloaded PDF can't be opened and one error

"There is an error opening this document. The file is damaged and cannot be repaired. "is displayed. The curious is that some PDF files published this error, while others open without a problem. Source file all PDF files open without a hitch before they are downloaded.

Any advice or pointers would be very appreciated.

    TIA, Donna

    Donna,.

as you have probably read in a lot of discussions on this matter, this error message is usually correct, and the PDF file is damaged. As for how it gets damaged, it's something you need to know by poking around in your system. Here are a few general things that always apply when working with corrupt files:

The first thing I would do is open such a file corrupted in a text editor such as NotePad to see what it actually contains. Any valid PDF file must begin with '% PDF -' followed by a version number. If you don't see that in the first line, then you are not dealing with a PDF file and you know why you do not get the file saved in your knowledge base.

If this string is there, then you know that there a PDF file and the issue is somewhere in this file, and is where it gets much more complex. You will need a good understanding of the PDF specification to parse the file to see what is wrong with him.

If you're lucky, you'll actually have a file of length zero (which means also no PDF header). No valid PDF file cannot be zero bytes long. Your second chance case would you find in fact an HTML error in this file (instead of PDF content), that tells you the reason for the problem (but again, this depends on your system).

  • I have a license of a vector, but the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

I have a license of a vector of Stock and when I import it into Illustrator says "the file is damaged and cannot be repaired." I need to edit the vector in illustrator and import it into indesign. I log off CC and reconnected I know sometimes that's helped before with images but that did not work. At the same time, I also registered 2 images that work well, but not the vector. I have the license of your web portal, not the application, but I don't think that should make a difference. Any ideas on how to get this vector to work? Thank you.

The number is #50433877. I had to call customer service and they couldn't get it to work either. They ended up giving me a credit and I've used a vector that is similar to the for replace. Strange preview works perfectly, but when I have a license for it, it broke.

I'm new to Lr, can someone tell me if there is a limit of size PRACTICE to a Lightroom catalog file? Should I keep the file size within a certain range of size of GB and then create a new? Thank you I would be grateful of any advice.

He has no such limit, and in fact some users in this domain and other forums report catalogues over 1/2 million pictures works well.

The idea to create multiple catalogs because you don't want to get too big catalog file size is a bad idea that you should never think of it again.

    Hello Astroguy,

Thank you for your response back!

Good to know that you have done a repair install.  What I would do is run the SFC scan, because you performed the installation of repair recently the chances are that the SFC scan should be good.  If there is a problem, it will signal you when finished.

Then I would go to Windows Update to check if he has new updates and/or try to update all those who did not.  If you still get the updates that do not please let us know what he's trying to put up-to-date and error.

  • DriverStore\FileRepository files get damaged.

I have a very irritating problem with my 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate installation. The problem arises when I need to install a new device/updated drivers etc. and I can't find the root cause.

The problem is that the files that are copied to the \Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository during the installation of the driver are sometimes corrupt: for example, if you open an INF file, it is full of garbage. This can happen right away during the installation of the driver or at the next reboot. Of course, Windows complains so the next time he's trying to (re) install the drivers for this device.

Usually, I can manually copy the files from the directory/correspondents of another installation of 64-bit and the problem recurs not until I use the installer of the device - if I use the Device Manager and point it in the right direction (so that the files are not reinstalled) then it's OK.

I am really frustrated with this, I ran various controls and ultimate disc even re-installed as an upgraded on-site and I am puzzled. Virus/Malware scans reveal nothing. There is no evidence in the files of setup.api/dev.log either :(

This could be the cause of this corruption? I see no evidence of any other files get corrupted in this way.

    Thank you.

    Hi Chris,

Did you try a clean boot?  In this way, you can disable everything and try to install just the driver you need etc.

Thanks for your help, I tried your solution and unfortunately it did not work.  I went on the website and it wasn't much of a help either.  However, I found the solution to my problem!  I don't know if this would be the same for everyone, but when I went to download the latest version of Java once more on the site, I clicked "RUN" instead of "SAVE", after it's over, I installed the download and it was not the mistake bad guy who kept occurring. : D
