keeps trying to install the Vista upgrade

Vista is installing the upgrade (kb955430). I can't get him to stop. When reboot it says installation upgrade 1 1, do not turn the computer, but I have to pull out the plug that he keeps trying to do something. hard disk activity is high all the time. Whem I restart after having pulled the plug it is said: configuration installation 1.3 and then he returned to the usable state, but always with very high diskactivity, try to install the upgrade. The pc is very slow because of it. try to uninstall updates it tells me that it cannot do as the facilities program is busy.

Hello Peterkragh,

Thanks for posting on the Community Forums of Microsoft Vista.

First try to restore system to a previous date when the computer was working fine.

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.
4. click on finish.

The computer restarts and system files and settings are back to the State they were in when the restore point was created.

Access the link below to learn more about system restore.
http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/9f6d755a-74bb-4A7D-A625-d762dd8e79e51033.mspx

Later, download the standalone version of Ko 955430 on your desktop from the link below:
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=b1746a64-2bb5-4058-B133-d8264a0122cb&displaylang=en

Once the download is complete, start the computer in safe mode and try to install the update in safe mode. Once the installation is complete, try to boot into normal mode and check if everything works well.

It will be useful.

Thank you and best regards,

  • I keep trying to install the latest version of firefox and it does not work

I am running firefox 3.something, I think, and I keep trying to install the latest version on my mac. I have through save, open, drag the icon to my apps file... and when I drag my apps file, it takes a few seconds to do * something *, pings to me and then nothing after that. I try to open it and it tells me that I have to close firefox first, so I didn't (restart even) and when it opens again it still opens to the old version.

Looks like you are trying to install the latest version by downloading it from the Mozilla site. What happens if you try and install by choosing Firefox > Firefox in the Menu bar? Yet you say that Firefox is not updated?

Also, have you tried to uninstall Firefox using CleanMyMac or AppCleaner, for example and then install again? Please do not do this until you are satisfied you have saved all the information that you want to keep, first (passwords, etc.).

  • Windows keeps trying to install the same update

My computer keeps trying to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86. Hello

This problem is caused by corrupted windows update system components.

    For Windows Update revived question follow this troubleshooting;

Power the computer in cleanboot to disable unnecessary services running on the background.

    Follow the instructions here: http://www.tech4windows.info/2013/09/make-your-windows-pc-boot-faster.html

Click Start - > in the search box type 'cmd'-> right click on CMD and "run as Administrator"... Press ENTER...

    Type the following command;

    net stop wuauserv

    CD %SystemRoot%\System32

    Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

    net start wuauserv

    net stop cryptsvc

    Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2

  • Damaged HARD disk, need to reinstall windows... but I had installed the Vista upgrade 7!

    Hello

A few months ago, my computer (HP Pavilion a6700f) decided that he no longer wanted to live. The hard drive is corrupted and I could never get anything from him. I tried many ways, sent him, put it in another computer... it is as if there is never nothing about it initially. (Sad because I stupidly did not save my content). I have come to terms with her being gone, and I'm now looking to reinstall and start over.

I tried to run the install disc and it won't go to the point where she wants to give me drivers... my question is, because I had updated the computer to its original operating system Vista to Windows 7 when they offered the free update, I have to reinstall windows Vista, and then upgrade again? Or it will allow me to install drivers windows 7? Also, is there somewhere where I can download the installation for my specific computer disks? I used the upgrade disk to reinstall, but he wants than signed drivers.

I know that sounds a little crazy, but I want to fix it than to buy a new HARD drive. I have my windows for Vista key... Although I don't know if there was another key for the upgrade to Windows 7, as on the package or something... like I did that more.

I hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks in advance!

As you have no recovery disk, you will have to order them from service to HP customers in your country if they are still available for a nominal charge:

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/W1/en/support.html

If you decide to replace the hard drive, to have one that is not less than 500 GB SATA 7200 RPM like the one you have now.

  • Cannot start Windows after trying to install the Vista SP2

I just tried to install Vista SP2 and now whenever I try to turn on the cpu it gives me a blue screen and restarts. It does allow me to start in SafeMode either. In addition, it seems to be impossible to find my restore points. I was able to stop the screen using the F8 menu and it gives me this error on the blue screen

    STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0X81C223BB, 0X803998F4, 0X803995F0)

For some reason, when I go to the cmd prompt to advanced troubleshooting guide, I can do, he says that I am the X and not the C drive, if that has something to do with my restore points does not.

I tried to get the menu of the restoration on C manually through C:\windows\system32\restore\, but nothing was there.

Any help would be appreciated. I will not lose rather all my data in a reformat.

    Thank you
    Matt

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you installed SP2?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Can I install the Vista upgrade to my system if I erased the hard drive?

I recently struck out everything what one of my hard drives. Can I install an upgrade of Vista on it?

The requirements for the multimedia upgrade is to have an operating system already qualify as installed Windows XP to use it

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    You can try the following:

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows Vista Upgrade disc.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows Vista DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your Windows Vista key product and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

  • CS5 Update Manager keeps trying to install the old updates

Yesterday, I installed CS5 Master Collection on a replacement computer and used ' Check for Updates ' in Photoshop to download and install the latest versions. This well, but only updated Photoshop 12.0.4 and Illustrator to 15.0.2. I downloaded and installed the PS 12.0.5 and HAVE 15.0.3 manually updated and everything went well (or so I thought) - reports 12.0.5 PS and Illustrator reports 15.0.3 in their dialog boxes "about".

Tonight, I found an Adobe Update icon in my tray and clicked on it. He tells me he wants to install PS 12.0.4 and HAVE 15.0.2 (a single patch back on each level). I let him run, thinking he would notice that everything was up-to-date. He didn't - he downloaded and tried to install these updates, reports of update failed for both. If I check the updates again, I again offer these two updates.

I found this old thread http://forums.adobe.com/thread/714043 that deals with a similar problem with Dreamweaver. I tried to delete the C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0 folder and restart as indicated on this thread and it does not solve the problem - the continuous update manager to try to download and install the updates necessary and obsolete.

How Update Manager to understand that these updates have already been applied? I don't want to just disable checks for these products update, that I'll miss future updates. And I prefer not to disable and uninstall all CS5 Master Collection and reinstall if I have to - that seems a hammer to crush a mosquito.

I don't want to just disable checks for these products update, that I'll miss future updates.

There will be none. CS5 is now 2.5 years old and nobody does not return in support of these older versions when CS7 knocks at the door. The day.3 update has been made only after that the public cries largely misinformed on that together major security with certain types of files that has been a complete non-issue for 90% of users, anyway...

    Hello

you have a post very confused as to what you ae trying to do

you don't have to get windows 7; It's up to you whether you buy it or not

and the upgrade of operating systems is different from the upgrade of the editions in a particular operation systyem

and if you upgrading vista from one edition to another and the installed operating system vista had SP2 and upgrade does not, you uninstall SP2 upgrade then reinstall SP2

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    2. do you get any error code or error message?

    3. do you have Sonic software installed on your computer?

Sonic is the CD burning and packet writing software that comes with your system. The mistake itself probably comes he uses the installer, Install Shield and his Manager update is not installed.

I suggest you to start the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists. If the issue is not persistent then try to put the computer in a clean boot state in order to determine the program that causes this problem.

Step 1: A description of the sure start in Windows XP Mode options:

Step 2: How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State:
