How install the vista upgrade when disc is destroyed?
Computer vista of my son had the virus and tanked. Best Buy said computer necessary, new drive hard as former disc destroyed. Then Best Buy said they needed vista install disk to the new disk. The single disc there is the original upgrade disk. Best Buy now says he has to buy a new vista or win 7 disc original system because they cannot install it on a new hard drive with a vista upgrade disc. They also forced him buy $ 200 worth of virus protection before they would do anything.

The requirements for the multimedia upgrade is to have an operating system already qualify as installed Windows XP to use it

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP and let it do the verification of eligibility.
You can try the following:

Hello
A few months ago, my computer (HP Pavilion a6700f) decided that he no longer wanted to live. The hard drive is corrupted and I could never get anything from him. I tried many ways, sent him, put it in another computer... it is as if there is never nothing about it initially. (Sad because I stupidly did not save my content). I have come to terms with her being gone, and I'm now looking to reinstall and start over.
I tried to run the install disc and it won't go to the point where she wants to give me drivers... my question is, because I had updated the computer to its original operating system Vista to Windows 7 when they offered the free update, I have to reinstall windows Vista, and then upgrade again? Or it will allow me to install drivers windows 7? Also, is there somewhere where I can download the installation for my specific computer disks? I used the upgrade disk to reinstall, but he wants than signed drivers.
I know that sounds a little crazy, but I want to fix it than to buy a new HARD drive. I have my windows for Vista key... Although I don't know if there was another key for the upgrade to Windows 7, as on the package or something... like I did that more.
I hope this makes sense to someone! Thanks in advance!
As you have no recovery disk, you will have to order them from service to HP customers in your country if they are still available for a nominal charge:
http://welcome.HP.com/country/W1/en/support.html
If you decide to replace the hard drive, to have one that is not less than 500 GB SATA 7200 RPM like the one you have now.

How install the 10 items when the Setup program retains back to shared technologies?
I tried several times to install Adobe on my new computer laptop under Windows 7 64, without success. I first tried installation version 11 on the box - which OS is crashed out and led to the 'blue screen of death' and my brand new computer will not restart the computer. After removal of this version, the computer went very well and I was able to install other things. After having now tried several times to install 10 items, I have brought to a stand still by pure frustration. Whenever he gets to the point where it is the 'Shared technologies' installation, Setup cancels the installation. I tried deleting any reference to elements of the registry and hard drive and copy all the files installation on the hard disk and then reinstalling - none of this has helped. I don't know what to do and have discovered that Adobe has apparently decided to abandon their clients - can - we in this forum help?

I want to know why I have to spend more money on an upgrade to Windows 7, when I spent I believe 200.00 with microsoft in end 08.My on an upgrade vista ultimate on an older laptop.i have two other computers at home that I bought two full win 7 ultimate copies when this operating system was first released in oct 09 microsoft site does not allow me to install the vista upgrade because it has been disabled.i the feeling that in the future if I create another computer or buy a laptop, I'll buy the version complete, because the updates for win 7 can have the same result then win 8 fate within a year or so.and probably in an all too short time
Hello
you have a post very confused as to what you ae trying to do
you don't have to get windows 7; It's up to you whether you buy it or not
and the upgrade of operating systems is different from the upgrade of the editions in a particular operation systyem
and if you upgrading vista from one edition to another and the installed operating system vista had SP2 and upgrade does not, you uninstall SP2 upgrade then reinstall SP2

Hi Jeremy,.
Thanks a lot for your help. I felt that I should not uninstall the updates of security, and the Defender update can not be uninstalled. It made no difference.I also checked the graphics card and told me that I had the latest version of the software. Then I checked the configuration of the monitor and graphics card configuration and found I could set the configuration to full frame. I did it and now all is well again. How and why the full frame disappeared April 16 remains a mystery.Thank you very much for your information without your help I would have been unable to delve deeply into the system. I learned a lot. -
Qosmio F30-127 is unable to read the Vista upgrade disc
Hi guys,.
I have a Toshiba Qosmio F30 (127) with the standard front load Mat * a DVD-RAM (model UJ-846) Player.
I have for months without any apparent problem burn a variety of CD DVD & (R/RW) and recently received my expected Vista Express Upgrade DVD which I assume adopts the format DVD RAM.
After the upgrade of the BIOS to v3.4, I successfully installed upgrading startup, but only one of the hard drives (RAID) which has been recognized in my windows session (with the recoil, I would simply have used administrative tools > computer management > disk management) ;-(
I reinstalled XP using the recovery disks provided original in preparation to retry the Vista upgrade a 2nd time to correct the alleged no recorded 2nd hard drive.
However, on the startup of XP, the Vista Upgrade DVD doesn't have to be recognized at startup (i) or (ii) in the case of a Windows session, without a visible change in the drive icon to indicate the usual recognition.
If I try to double click on the drive icon, I get the error message:
"D:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an i/o device error.
I have read a number of threads of support which advises: (i) changing some registry keys, which seem to be unnecessary following a procedure of recovering costs of system; (ii) the transfer mode to DMA to PIO on the primary IDE channel in Manager devices, and (iii) the offending disk and IDE/ATAPI controllers Device Manager uninstall followed by a restart of switching. I tried (ii) & (iii) independently several times resulting in Windows Installer automatically the drivers for the hardware newly found followed by a final reboot, but the Enigma DVD persists.
I tried to install the latest drivers for the DVD RAM driver, including vF103 firmware update in the Toshiba download pages, but the status quo remains.
Ideas or current symptoms are swinging more and more towards the likely hardware malfunction?
Thanks for listening...
For me, it looks like a hardware problem, maybe the lens of the player is not clean or not can not calibrate correctly in the right position
But try first to remove the drive from Device Manager and restart the laptop.
The operating system should recognize what it again automatically. If you want to read from this CD, and then try again. If she will not change the situation, then I presume that it s a failure of the equipment.

Satellite U300 unable to operate after the Vista upgrade installation
A couple of days, I did a Windows Vista upgrade on my laptop Satellite U300 and since that time, my computer does not work. He tried to self-diagnose this himself, he told me to shut down the computer and restart. I do that and then the! 0xc0190036! 4099/69249 (Security-Licensing-SLC-Component-SKU-Home...) appears with a black background. I tried to launch the product recovery disc but computer wouldn't it.
Can someone offer me some tips?

Hello
It's very strange
How have you tried to install the operating system recovery disc?Boot you from the CD and have you followed the instructions on the screen?
Or what is exactly happening?Usually, the recovery disk must format the whole HARD drive and the laptop to the factory settings.
In addition, the Vista is already activated and it s not necessary to put keys series.I see in the error message something about safety licenses. I m not very well what this may be, but perhaps could be a problem with activation, who knows? :|
But as I said above, the Vista on the recovery disk is already enabled. -
Need info on the Vista upgrade
Fact Toshiba suppy an upgrade from Vista or can I just use one of the stores?
I need no special drivers or the new installation will resume the drivers already on the system?Hello
As much as I know Toshiba has nothing to with Vista upgrade option.
When you open the options of the system (Control Panel), you will find basic information about your computer and there are placed link Windows Vista upgrade.Either you can use this option or get Microsoft DVD facilities and install the Vista-specific option. All available drivers, tools and utilities Vista can be used on every version of Vista.

Windows Update is now always ask to install the Vista SP2, which was installed years ago. When you try to install through Windows Update, it concludes the installation like ok, then once again it shows in Windows Update. When I try via stand-alone, it is said that SP1 is not installed. Of course, it is. In any case tried to reinstall and he wrote is already installed. I'm sure I installed both SPS long ago, but none of them show in the updates installed. It's probably something in the registry. Properties system shows SP1. Ah, I use Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
