Keithley drivers 3706

Hello

I am a new user of Labview. LabVIEW 2013 SP1 (32-bit) is installed on the computer. I use a Keithley 3706 with a map of 3740-ST. However, Labview does not recognize the keithley and so I can't receive any measure on labview. I don't know what drivers to install, I tried to find on the site of NOR, but it seems that the drivers are made for earlier versions of Labview. Where can I find the right drivers please?

Thanks for your help

You do not pay attention to a previous answer. The DAQ Assistant has NOTHING to do with the instrument control.

Use the functions of the driver. You should have a palette for them if you installed correctly.

  • Keithley 2601 - VISA READ 0xBFFF0015 (VI_ERROR_TMO)

    Dear people,

I hope you can help me with this problem which has been haunting me for days. Please excuse me if it's a rookie mistake, as I have no experience with LabVIEW.

I'm trying to control a 2601 Keithley uses LabVIEW drivers provided by the manufacturer (http://www.tek.com/source-measure-units/2635-software/keithley-series-2600-2600a-2600b-native-labvie...).

The connector I use is a NI GPIB/USB and communication seems to work well with interactive control of NI-VISA, writing and reading the output of "* IDN? "\n" perfectly:

    1: write operation (* IDN? \n)

    Back County: 6 bytes

    2: read operation
    Back County: 54 bytes
    Keithley\sInstruments\sInc.,\sModel\s2601,\s1078308,\S1.1.1\n

When you try to run the example 'KE26XX factory Pulse Usage.vi' However, after having managed the initialization of the device and to write a series of settings, it still shows error 0xBFFF0015 (VI_ERROR_TMO) in the CITATION READ in 'Config Pulse V measure I.vi':

I had that before with a serial cable, so I changed the thought of GPIB/USB it re-establishes a possible problem of TermChar. Does not work, the error is still the same. I tried to add a wait function with up to 5 after the WRITE VISA, without success. Tried to increase the number of bytes to READ VISA, without success. Tried to manually add "\n" to the string of Scripture, without success.

    Using Windows 7 Enterprise, LabVIEW 2014 SP1 f3, NI-VISA 15.5, OR-488. 2 15.5.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Diego

It looks like to, this is caused by something else. The other cause of VISA time-out for a tester is usuaully when you call a VI to do certain things which need more steps to take before calling them. For example, you may need to call one another VI Keithly to initialize the device and then put it in a certain mode, configure something using an another VI then call the Subvi. If you do not follow such a sequence, you can ask something that the instrument is not able to do and so he will not respond and will trigger a timeout. To do this, you will need to consult the manual of the instrument, Keithly examples or try to contact their support.

  • I use an IEEE-488 GPIB connection to a keithley 2400

I use an IEEE-488 GPIB connection to a keithley 2400. I get an error - 111 an error header seperator and a header not defined-113. I need to know how to fix this problem and install this keithley with a probe workstation. I'm new to labview and uses old code that I attached below all information on troubleshooting, the block diagram would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Why are you using the old code? Go to help > find instrument Drivers. Follow the directions.

  • Keithley 2400 and 2000 to Windows 7 computer connection

I have a Keithley 2400 sourcemeter and a 200 Keithley DMM connected to my computer via IEEE-488/GPIB KUSB of Keithley. When I plug the USB in my computer it does not recognize the connection, and in fact my program OR measurement and Automation does not recognize that they are connected at all. Using the help function in LABVIEW I also installed the drivers appropriate for the 2400 and 2000, but without effect. Someone has advice on how I could get these to connect to my computer? I intend to use for a test of Van der Pauw.

    Tried to contact Keithley?

It is their equipment and I know from past experience, that they are familiar with the software NOR.

You will get results much more quickly.

Many people here use software and hardware. I have no personal experience with the KUSB.

  • Keithley model 2400 example vi do not work? Error-1073807346

I'm new to LabView and have a new installation of LabView 2010.  I made different tutorials and have been reading about LabView (I'm not new to programming of GPIB, just new to labview).  I found the drivers of instruments through the NI Instrument Driver Finder on the Help menu, and when I select the 24xx model in the Instrument Driver Finder, it shows me the window "Start an Instrument Driver for help".  When I double-click on one of the listed examples, say, 'Keithley 24xx Read Single.vi', for example, it loads the diagram before the Panel and the block of the .vi.  I'm assuming that they are * example * files, I don't need to make any prior configuration in the code before running it. However, when I press "Run" or "Continuous run" the same error message appears for each example .vi I.

The error message is the following:

1073807346 error occurred while opening VISA in Keithley 24XX.lvlib:Initialize.vi-> Keithley 24XX read Single.vi
    Possible reasons:
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF000E) the given reference of session or the object is not valid.

What exactly goes wrong?  I have VISA installed 5.0.3, it came with either the drivers for my USB-> GPIB cable or with the installation of LabView.  All the sample files .vi are located in "C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2010\instr.lib\Keithley 24XX\Examples".

Quite difficult for me to follow the examples when I can't run them.  Thanks in advance for everyone entered.

    Hello

Never run continuously except when you want a vi to start and stop very quickly more and more.

Select the resource of visa before you press the arrow of the execution.

  • hardware error Keithley 2410

    Hey, guys.
I am very new in this LabVIEW, do some programs still use drivers to control instruments. So, recently, I work to control a Keithley SMU 2410. I make a simple program to constant voltage source and measure the current vs time. This program works wells in short periods and Keithley functions very well. But last week, I used for 20 hours, the problem was that 45 minutes of operation, the front screen of EMS unit exploded, the labview show an IO error that can communicate with the instrument, and when I reboot the instrument, he can't do anything, and the labview is not able to communicate with the instrument. The device is made when works as a source unit and can not be damaged by high currents, and therefore the last measures was about 100 my when the level of compliance was at 1. When I turn on the camera, I only hear the fans and I can't do nothing, I look for the fuse but it was ok.

So I know that it is a hardware error Keithley not associated with NOR. But I got the idea that maybe something that I put in my program to damage the instrument in a certain way. I master the instrument with a serial cable, and I used the drivers I downloaded from a page of NOR, don't remember which version was. Just need help to see if it's a bad thing that I do, damaged the instrument

    Greetings to all.

Although there are a few bad choice of programming in this code, is nothing that should have caused injury to the Kiethley in code.  Something in the material should be suspected.

  • Keithley 2400 tension question

Hello, I use Labview 2010 to try to control a Keithley 2400 Sourcemeter by GPIB.  I use drivers labview the Keithley 24XX driver package that I downloaded from the 'instrument Drivers to find' in Labview.

I am trying to use the device as a current source to power an electromagnet.  I have the system put in place and it will output current, but any height, I adjust the value of compliance, the output voltage of the sourcemeter will not exceed 2 volts.

I am sure that this is not a limitation of the device because when I adjust the compliance and current manually the device has no difficulty.  For some reason when I have control the device with labview he just won't go more than 2 volts. Any help would be great.

I have included my program here.  If someone needs screenshots to diagnose this problem, let me know.

I think I got it.  I made a small change to "configure surge protection.   "I changed the string in the GPIB command of ' %. ; "SOUR: VOLTROT %g" to "%.; "SENSE: VoltROT %g" which changes the compliance of the range.

  • Keithley 6221 pilot - upgrade to labview 2009 to 2012

    Hello

I use the Labview drivers provided by Keithley, to control a power supply Keithley 6221. They provide for LV 8 and 2009 versions, and I currently use 2009. However, I have to spend to LV 2012. Compatible drivers 2009 will be ok with LV 2012? This who should I look for?

As you have to connect to the Web of Keithley site to download the drivers, I have attached to them.

The drivers are provided with VISAS, so I don't expect upgrade problems around 2012.  The thing I noticed is that the files are set to read-only.  Disable via Windows Explorer so that you can compile mass screw before use.

Hi, I have a keithley 2100 6 1/2 Digit multimeter and I need to measure temperature with her but I don't know how, I only find how custom DCV ACV resistance etc, but I had not found a way to put my PT-100 alpha, beta and delta configurations for my pt-100 and read temperatures.

    A little help please?

    Thank you

Hi, for most drivers, there must be a Tree VI...!

    For Keithley 2100: C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\instr.lib\Keithley Series\Public\VI 2100 Tree.vi

This VI lists all functions (public) library (well I can't see "Configure Temperature.vi" under configuration)...

You must use one of the functions of the data.

  • Pilot of limited VISA Keithley 2400 resolution

    Hello

I have a sourcemeter Keithley 2400, what I use in the range of +-1mA, as a current source. This is the driving part of PID control.

I use the official drivers of VISA, and everything is OK, except that it seems that I can't use the specified resolution of LabView.

In this range of low +-1 milliamp, the usable resolution is 50 Nanoamps. In manual mode, everything is ok, I can put for example a current output to be:

    -0.245450 mAmperes.

But when I use LabView with the .vi set up the output of the package official llvlib (I have attached it) he rounds for microamperes:

For example, the double value above would become:-0.245 mAmperes.

It's really bad for my project, because I need the resolution 50 nanoAmp for really fine control.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance!

Change the format string to"%.9f; ': ' and see if it works.  It seems that the default precision is 6.  Why the original programmer used %s I have no idea.

  • Keithley 2000 not identified NOR Measurement and Automation Explorer using GPIB

    Hello

I recently used NI TestStand and NI MAX with IVI drivers to get my working(using USB) peripheral. He has worked successfully for TG5011 and TDS1002B Oscilloscope function generator.

Following the same procedure: I started with 2000 model DMM of Keithley with GPIB.

I am facing difficulties in finding my camera on OR-MAX devices and interfaces. I use a GPIB KUSB - 488B USB adapter to connect.

I can interact with the device of VISA Interactive Control and KUSB diagnosis tool and you can see the device in the device Windows and KI-Configuration Utility Manager. Surprisingly, I don't see GPIB Board in the NOT-MAX.

    Help, please.

System details: NI-VISA 5.2 installed on Windows 7, KUSB-488 driver installed in command compatibility mode OR. (only ieee_32m.dll is present), installed UN NOR-488.

    Thank you

To help all those who have read this thread:

I had the Keithley 2000 NOR-MAX and NOR-Test Stand using IVI Driver (for Keithley 2000 of NOR) using the KUSB - 488 B (GPIB to USB adapt from Keithley).

Layer of keithley installed IO Keithley and I can see the unit property. I then followed the procedure for IVI MAX and TestStand pilot program and IT WORKED!

Please find attached the screenshots for Visual clarity.
