Reinstall Windows7 ultimate if hard disk fails.

I create my own computers and install my software myself. I bought and upgraded to windows 7 ultimate version and a full version. If the hard drive of my computer goes down, I can reinstall windows 7 without problem. Also, if I decided to move from 32-bit version to a 64-bit version can I still do it?

Yes and Yes.

You may need to reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

(2) press the ENTER"" key.

(3) select your "country" in the list.

(4) choose the option "activate phone".

(5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

What you can do is to create the backup copy of your activated installation.

Have already tried to contact Adobe and they told me to reinstall the program. I did this and the same issue. It's crazy. I can not turn off something that I did not more...

    Thank you.

No - I had, of course, tried all these things. Finally, I had someone (after several days) on the personal chat group that could fix and it did it in a few minutes. Too bad that nobody else seemed to be able to do. Adobe is very soft.

I can't thank enough the other person - it was amazing.

  • Hard disk failed to keep windows 7 for the new hard drive or SSD

Hi, windows told me recently there is a problem with my hard drive and that I would back up my data to an external storage device, in case it fails, but don't want to backup my files because they aren't important. When I tried to access file Explorer the next day I got the warning my computer froze. I'm not him have not restarted the laptop since then in fear that it could make it more worn, since I may still need it.

I try to order a new hard drive or SSD and won't buy windows 10 because it's expensive. Instead, I want to keep my current operating system, which is windows 7 Home premium, which is preinstalled on my laptop.  I have no recovery disks and I didn't do all the backups at all, but here is a windows 7 product key stuck on the back of the laptop.

I was wondering if I can use the product key to install windows 7 on the new HDD/SSD and if yes, how, I would go to this topic. Also, if I can't do the wrench is it another way (because I may be able to use it yet), because I don't want to have to buy any other OS.

    Specifications:

    Laptop: TOSHIBA Satellite A660

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

(Let me know if you need more details)

    Thanks for any help.

If you are still able to boot from the Windows 7 Desktop on the current hard drive, try to create a set of recovery disks. See the instructions in the following article:

    https://NeoSmart.NET/wiki/Toshiba-Recovery-disk/#Create_disc_for_Windows_7

After you create the defined recovery disc, close, install the new SSD, then use the updated recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7 on new disk SSD.

You will need 4 blank DVDs.

  • Reinstall Windows 8 new hard disk

My hard drive failed on my laptop Dell Inspiron 3520 (November 2012).  I'll buy a new hard drive and install it myself.  However, I did the recovery disc for Windows 8.  How can I reinstall my copy of Windows 8.  I don't have a license available either key and Dell are trying to get me to buy their share recovery disks.  Is this necessary?

You need to get from Dell recovery media to reinstall the pre-installed Windows 8. Yes, it is necessary because you do not have a recovery disk.

  • Hardware or software problem? Freezing of Windows and 1 hard disk failed.

My Pavilion dv7 freezes at the windows startup screen.  I can't via safe mode.  It starts and hangs at disk.sys.

I ran a diagnostic and start-up test and hard drive tests showed 1 hard disk had a default ID: PLP773-4SX5SL-XD03GK-60V003.

As I am able to boot and I have run diagnostic test, I would not have thought that the hard drive was not.  I thought it would be a corruption of software.  Unless the hard drive is failing.

What do you think? Software or hard drive?

Don't know whether to order a recovery disc or not.  If it is a hard drive, non-techie can someone order a new hard drive and install?

    Hello

Well the error 305 definetely would indicate a hard failure.

The link on the hard drive in the guide below is for the United Kingdom - I guess that it is where you live as suffix to your model number (ea) is the same as mine, but if this isn't the case, the HARD drive (or a very similar) is available almost everywhere.

    Replacing the hard drive.

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

500 GB hard drive for laptop.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 47 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.

    https://www.best2serve.com/page/rcd_landing?redirect_product_id=21086

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United Kingdom, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

Extraction of files from the hard drive.

The device used by PC World has been a Hard Drive caddy - an example of one of them is here.

However another possible way to try and recover your files (and does not cost anything) a disc non-boot is to follow the process described in the link below.  The CD of the Ubuntu operating system you create can launched from the CD alone (IE it doesn't have to be installed on the hard drive) and I've often found to successfully extract data from a hard failure.  When you created the CD, follow the instructions and see if you can save your existing files.

  • Pavilion 400-034: short DST check hard disk failed

I woke up to a computer with a diagnostic system with a hanging rotating circle. I turn it off; It restarted in the same diagnostic system that hung for hours. Fast test system then showed that check Hard Drive DST short: failed. Failure ID: 60D5U2 - 0007 MN-PXPAWJ-60XT03. Does this mean I need a new hard drive? How do you know that one to get and how to replace it? Finally, how can I get a copy of the operating system to load in the new HARD drive? Thank you.

    Hello

Unfortunately to say: most of the time the 24 tank failure id indicates the drive is defective and must be replaced. It is still under warranry? In the affirmative, please call HP for a replacement.

    In the United States:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/phone-assist.html#section1

or the HP technical support: 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region please click the link below to get help from your region number.

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/W1/en/contact_us.html

You have a set of recovery media? If this isn't the case, you will need to contact HP in your country (above links) to order one.

  • PC all-in-one HP 21z: short DST check hard disk failed

A test of the system resulted in a failure in the Hard Drive DST short check, with the ID of the fault: U4JEW1-7B780A-QFFV6K - Q 60, 103.

The trouble began 10 days after the expiration of the warranty. * sigh *.

I need to replace the hard drive?

    Badrescher, welcome to the forum.

Yes, the error message said you that your hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced.  You should buy a hard drive of the same size or larger than that to be replaced.  Otherwise, the system recovery media will not work.

  • X 230 HARD disk failed after less than 6 months...

    Hello

I have a laptop computer X 230 and I run the Diagnostics and health care system and it seems that the HARD drive has no 2 test here: 'targeted reading test' and 'SMART short self-test.

The same program said my warranty expires in 240 days, but I don't know that I bought the cheaper coverage option, so I don't know exactly, what is covered by the present.

Can you please give me some advice on how I should contact Lenovo to replace my HARD drive if it is covered by the warranty?

    Thank you

    Razvan

AFAIK all ThinkPads are covered by at least 1 year warranty. The HARD drive is covered by this warranty, so you should be able to get it replaced.

I contact Lenovo support and provide them with the results of the health care system and Diagnostics. This should be sufficient to establish that the HARD drive has failed.

I hope that you have already created a recovery media and/or have recent backups of the data on your HARD drive. Lenovo will send you a replacement HARD drive, but you will be responsible for the restoration of Windows and your data on it.

  • failure of hard disk drive necessary to reinstall WinXP Home on replacement HARD drive

I have an of Western Digital HARD drive with my system of operating XP Home 32-bit installed on my primary C: drive.

I have run the Diagnostics tool online to WD for the reader who found intractable errors on the disc, which indicates an imminent drive failure and an email their technical support confirms the disk needs to be replaced SOON before she completely fails.

I copied all personal off the drive failed on another drive good files and am now ready to remove the failed drive and install a new replacement main primary HDD and then reinstall my XP Home on it - so - until I started to do this thinking, I would ask for tips in anticipation of a smooth, re - install on the new drive.

I got a 25 character key and proof of 8-character license key. There is a Microsoft sticker on the back of the pc (that I do not see to read right now, but its there).

So, I remove the old drive and fit the replacement drive and this format and then install my XP Home - can we see a particular problem with activation?

    concerning

Depending on whether you have a recovery CD suitable for activation key for your sticker or not, there are three possible courses of action. Each activation of the path should not be a problem unless this procedure has been done several times or your 25-character key fell into the wrong hands.

If you do not have a recovery CD

I hope that your original drive will have a recovery partition or the means to create a recovery CD. If you can create recovery media do now. In the contrary case and the original disc has a recovery partition make a clone of the original hard disk sector by sector to your new car now. If the clone is successful, i.e., that there are no unreadable sectors, is perhaps the best way to proceed in any case, especially if your PC is in good health other than the imminent failure of your HARD drive. If the clone does not work out, you can always fall back on the new installation. The advantage of a clone is that there is no re-setup software to (updates Windows or Office to give just two examples) and didn't need to be restored. I paid for the partitioning/cloning software and have no experience of all freebies out there to make recommendations, perhaps 10crackers can help with this.

If you have managed to create a recovery media, you can use it instead of cloning.

If you clone successfully you can just use it as is, or use the built-in recovery partition that you just cloned to do a clean install.

If you don't have a recovery media and cannot create an and is unable to successfully clone

You will have to contact the manufacturer of your PC to see if they can provide recovery media.

    Help, please...

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

If nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

    BIOS WARNING-

Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • (Redirected) Alienware Aurora R4 - replacement hard drive failed by disk image

I went to the Dell website and ran the diagnostics for my R4 Aurora. He said that the hard drive had no 2 tests. So, Dell quickly sending a hard drive 2 TB of replacement. I received it today. The bag of the hard drive has a sticker that says "image". I guess that means that a new installation of my Windows 7 Ultimate factory has been installed on the hard disk. I did not receive any instructions, except to say that I need to replace the failed hard drive and return it within 30 days. OK, I can do the physical dominance, but there are a lot of questions, I feel unanswered.

Where are the instructions step by step to do this?

Should I get the ID product, s/serials for Windows 7 and office products that I have on the old drive?

Someone please point me in the right direction. My warranty includes no cat, and Facebook and Twitter are not my best subjects when it comes to getting help.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. The moderators of Dell, plese chime and let me know as well.

    Thank you
