Recently we have heard people talk of "Cisco ASA several flaws let users deny remote Service and bypass the security controls" under the securitytracker. However, as everyone knew, ASA 8.3 need a lot more resources on ASA HW to run. I checked that the bugs associated to above problem "CSCtg69742, CSCth36592, CSCtg61810, CSCte53635, CSCte46460, CSCte20030, CSCtf29867, CSCte14901, CSCsz80777, CSCsz36816" in the Cisco Bug Toolkit. None of them show any information if there is a fix for ASA 8.2 (x).

This means that Cisco starts to stop supporting 8.2 (x) and to push customers to their "so-called" best image 8.3 version (x) as a strategy of "marketing?

Cisco is best to find a solution for this problem on 8.2 (x) rather than push customers to something Cisco "love." It may not be the best interest of the customers AT ALL. Instead of pushing customers to ASA 8.3 (x), Cisco likely to push customers to its big competitor Juniper:)

    Sean,

I did a quick search on the Bug Toolkit for CSCtg69742 and found the following result.

    Fixed in
    8.2 (3)
    8.3 (1.5)
    8.3 (2)
    8.2 (2.15)
    8.2 (2.107)

    100.7 (6.1) M
    8.4 (0.99)

This was posted in the column on the left side of the search results page.

I recommend you research each ID of Bug Bug Toolkit (http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/action.do?hdnAction=searchBugs) for the version name (number) that contains the fix for this bug.

Nothing definitive in this single DMP.  I suspect strongly this is McAfee, but you run the Driver Verifier to confirm

Run these two tests to check your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.  Launch auditor.  You need not run memtest again unless you want to.
If you are overclocking anything reset by default before running these tests.
In other words STOP! If you don't know what it means that you're probably not

  • j2c35PA HP 15 laptop: HELP - kmode exception not handled, kernel security control and 1 other error message

Hi everyone and thanks for your time to read my question.

IV had my hp laptop for about a year now, never had any problems so far. today on 4 occasions to sepearte she stop and come up with an error message. I noticed that it is only upward for example, if I raise my laptop and move from the couch to the table or even to reposition when I sit, even though I am very soft.

When I first turned it on after 20 minutes froze my explorers and then the little flag in the bottom right said there are 2 problems with my computer (spyware was turned off) I've done virus scans and then all of a sudden it turned off again. I don't know if this is a virus? or is my hd to give up?

I don't know much about laptops / software at all! Is anyone able to help me and explain things very simply step by step? Please, I beg you.

the first message that came is the kernel security audit, then one I can't remember, then kernel security check again & then kmode exception not handled.

one thing I found weird (I got the occasional blue screen), is when the blue screen came whenever the background is quite fragile and he's looking for writing overlaps more write? never seen anywhere else! I am attaching the picture that I took.

    Thanks much again for reading

    Hi @smash91 ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked into your problem on your laptop 15 HP and an appearing with a blue screen error message. I find a fix for the error message and it says that there is an incorrect driver installed. So, if you could take a screenshot of your device manager would be great.

If you see something in there or USB Serial Bus peripheral or other devices which have a yellow question mark on it. I right click and uninstall the device.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you.

  • Oracle configuration settings to disable security controls

    Hello

Can someone shed light on this statement from oracle:

"We identified this problem two years ago. It was not a product coding flaw allowing hackers to circumvent the security mechanisms. Instead, the product includes a configuration setting allowing customers to disable security. Oracle has identified that customers have left this open setting and immediately released a patch which is the default setting for customers secure. This patch was released as part of our regular Critical Patch Update clients know to apply quarterly. Oracle has informed all our customers directly that they must apply the patch. This process is common in the industry.

What configuration is and what the patch for it?

    Thank you

CPU/PSU patches are cumulative in nature. So if you use one of the last based on your version of DB, old security bugs will be fixed with it.

  • assessment of suitability of LabVIEW for industrial machine control

    Greetings,

I'm trying to determine if LabVIEW and related equipment are able to meet several organizational needs - which is a direct control of industrial machines as the main driver interface.  Specific IO is quite simple and not time critical, with the exception of a few security control.

I'm trying to find information or use case examples where LabVIEW has been used in a Setup to autostart when the user/operator is ONLY presented with the Labview VI that acts as the user interface of the machine - without access to the underlying operating system - whether it is * NIX or Windows.

Most of what I've found so far seems should be directed to LabVIEW providing a global monitoring environment, where the individual machines of control is managed using dedicated plc and HMI.  I would like to know if LabVIEW and related products can be used in place of traditional PLC and HMI hardware.  If not, what are some of the existing approaches for fusion environments?

If anyone has experience or pointers to information, I would be grateful.

    See you soon,.

    Rob

Industrial control, we do all the time with LV the first thing to understand is that it is a language of programming like the others - what will happen is what you write. Nothing more, nothing less.

The second thing is that there is no "related material". LV code can run on a number of platforms, but the actual IO modules you use could in principle be all devices which you can talk to (which means that they have dedicated drivers or memoranda of support that you can use, such as Modbus).

The third thing is that it is possible to use a desktop for that OS (we do regularly), these systems are not designed for this. Beyond security considerations you mentioned, that must be implemented in dedicated hardware anyway, you should always accept that it is running on a desktop OS means there is a chance of things occur occasionally because preempted or your machine may get stuck in total, etc. For systems that we do, it is generally quite acceptable (and in fact is not often), but it's something to know. We usually leave the UI of the BONE in place, but it is also possible to replace the application from the shell with your own application, and then you will not see the classic interface at all (although users who know what they're doing can access if they really want to). There are different versions of the OS that may be preferable to something like that, but I have no experience with it.

An obvious point to raise is that NEITHER has a hardware PLC-like dedicated that can run your code of LV and is actually designed to do this. The most obvious is the cRIO devices family. These work exactly like robots, with the exception that they are significantly more efficient and much more expensive.

In regard to the mix of things, the classic way is to have the code on the PLC information and using something like Modbus, exactly as interactions with HMI systems jobs. LV is not a HMI program, however. It has some advantages, like being able to encode and do custom things and a few drawbacks, like not being able to do the UIs of basic or logging as easily. There is an add-on for LV that is supposed to add a bit of this, called the DSC module, but I don't really have experience with it. The decision on whether to use a program to HMI or code your own (in BT or any other language) should depend on the system and the implementer.

Again, LV is like any other programming language. You can control applications in C, but you must know C and build the relevant parts. Goes same for LV - you will need to know and to be able to write specific code you want. NOR has some reference designs, they come out on the subject, but I never watched their close collaboration. You can look at the table at the bottom of this article to see this - http://www.ni.com/example/30331/en/

  • I can not get information about the location of the images geotagged - the message is "unable to establish a network connection to Windows Live Local". Previously, I had a lot. Suggestions? Thank you.

After a lot of use of this feature of Pro Photo Tools to secure the location for my images geotagged information, I am not not able to do. The error message indicates, as seen above, I am unable to connect to "Windows Live Local." I have Windows XP Pro with service pack 3. I reinstalled Photo Pro and nothing has changed. My Images are jpeg. But being the difficulty in logging on to Windows Live Local, these things, I think, are not important. Any suggestions? Thank you.

  • Accommodation of the presence on the next information control VCS

    Hello!
    Could you please help me?

What should I do to host the presence information of my domain name SIP not on local control of VCS, where points registered endpoint, but VCS control located in the nearby area?

Disable the server of presence on your own VCS control while allowing the presence on VCS neighbored control server.

Also make sure that your local SIP domain exists also on VCS neighbored control and that the rules of research between these VCS allow presence SIP traffic pass freely between the two (AnyAlias for example).

  • How to "Wisely" lock Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c Release 4 (12.1.0.4)

    Hello guys.

I have a situation where non-technical people "was" and "are" using GRID control to kill session they "think" are originally from the problems of performance based only on the actual color of the moving window of Performance.

When I was told this, I got a feeling very sick in my stomach and said to this person that they are VERY lucky they have not corrupted in the database of PROD AGAIN!

    First Question:

How to recognize these people who kill sessions they run the RISK completely hose PROD and could experienced LOSS OF DATA REAL if something goes wrong.

    Second Question:

Because I'm just sur-monte to this place, should I wait a little before the implementation of new safety standards and to run the risk of harming someone ego?

    Please advise,

    Thank you

    Lady Allora...

The permissions to kill sessions are not provided by Enterprise Manager. EM is just the application they use to do this. They might also kill sessions with SQL * Plus, SQL Developer, or anything else. In EM, they authenticate to the database with an account. It is this database account that offers their privileges to perform this action. The appropriate security controls must be handled in the database.

When I was a new kid in a business, the first thing I did was examine and test backup and restore procedures. The second thing I did was to make my own security audit of the database. I found a lot of articles where I felt that the security of the database was in jeopardy. You have found an item and it is likely that you'll find much more of these elements. I recorded all the elements found in a spreadsheet and ranked in order of importance to fix. I then had a discussion with my directors on my security results. We went through the items one by one and discusses why it is important to clean up this line item. This gave me an action plan which has been approved by the management in the future. In many cases, I had to define corporate policies and create new processes. Those who once could make ActionX in the database still needed to do their job when I revoked their ability to do so. These people would need something new in place to help resolve or manage anything ever ActionX for them.

    See you soon,.

  • FDMEE - map target in HFM - what security?

    Hello

Should be easy. When you create maps in ESSONNE, users can only take members target in HFM when provided as an "Application Admin".

What security is required to allow users to view the members of the target of a HFM application, but not to be defined as a full blown Admin?

Not practical unfortunately. Security by location is necessary.

Turns out, you need to activate the role of "Integrations run" to the title of Shared Services, at the same time to the provision of security FDMEE and HFM.
