Computer crashes constantly and now videos take forever to load and play.
When I look at where they come from, my computer hangs like a madman and half the time, I just videos, case is not giving up the video. My computer freezes constantly, and yet everything is updated and functioning. I could be reading a news article and all of a sudden the whole system goes black and white and then after about 30 seconds the computer turns off. I cleaned it with canned air and everything recommended. Can I go back to Windows 8 and abandon 8.1? I need assistance with these issues and in other words please. Why this keep happening? What are the viable alternatives are there for all these problems? Nothing started happening until my computer updated automatically with 8.1 and now has been a year of nightmares constantly. Help, please.
Helpless and needs fixing
I'm no expert, but I think that there is a problem with the Windows updates for 8.1 and HP desktop computers, dragged my mouse, its has been staticy with snoring and crackling and video would freeze intermittently. What finally fixed my machine was a complete restoration and blocking the windows updates. Now my machine is perfect except for the fact that the heartbeat sounds terrible. The beats are working fine now, they sound just terrible.

Every time I play a video game on my computer crashes. How to solve this problem or better to diagnose the problem? Sometimes when I play a video game in the steam.
Windows 7
64 bitHP e9300zProcessor: AMD Athlon II processor 4 620 X 2.60 GhzRAM: 4 GBGraphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 220It does not give me an error message simply stops and restarts auto. When it reboots it just tells me that Windows has stopped unexpectedly.First - check that you have the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset, your video device, your audio device and your network devices. The first place to look for those who are on the Web site for your computer model & specific brand:
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=4148392&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&lang=en&cc=us
When you select your operating system (Windows 7 64-bit) I see that HP ony supplies those who they provided with the system originally. It's practically worthless.
Yes, where to from here? I would say that you should at least install the latest video card driver - as more modern games can use those strongly...
http://www.nvidia.com/object/Win7-WinVista-64bit-301.42-WHQL-driver.html
Download and install it. If possible, you still have the original driver installed - this is more recent than most 30 months.
It's an AMD 785 G chipset card mother configuration, if their site is correct. Looks like you can download and install latest drivers from AMD for this also:
http://support.AMD.com/us/gpudownload/Windows/pages/raid_windows.aspx
I'd say it's a good start.
What else? It could very well be a heat problem. Since it is a desktop - I suggest she get everything, buy some canned air for cleaning electronices and opening of this case and blow off any dust. It can be quite the accumulation. After blowing out, make sure that all the components that look like they 'plug' firmly/well connected. Carefully. Then, put the cover on and connect.
Make sure that there is enough air around the case - put a fan in front of him if you have to.

the computer crashes when video Skype calling
OK, so during a video call, the other night, my laptop Averatec running Windows XP home overheated and shut down, I restarted, since then when I go to the video conference on Skype, my computer crashes, restarts and gives me several different answers, for example a blue error screen, malware, software spies ect in conflict.
Since this place has started, I took the following steps and not to find another solution.
- check disk
- updated Sytem
- Update driver
- Update directX
- Uninstall / reinstall Skype
- installation of mcafee
- Disk Cleanup
- removal of unwanted emissions
I can't understand what other solution to use
Other that the timelysupportof the right answer, you could do things * methodically * and in the following order:
- Uninstall Skype.
- Update your web maison.* of manufacturers motherboard chipset driver
- Update your audio device driver, since manufacturers web maison.*
- Update your video device since the manufacturers driver web maison.*
- Update your network from the Web pages of manufacturer (s) device driver. *
- Reboot and install CCleaner. Run and cleaning of loose files it finds.
- Download and install MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware (FREE for BOTH) and run scans of complete system with each of them (one at a time) and remove all found each of them.
- Open the registry and find the Skype entries and remove them. Everything you find. HKLM and HKCU areas in particular.
- Reboot again.
- Run a CHKDSK on all readers
- Perform a defrag on all readers
- Reboot again.
- Visit http://winodwsupdate.microsoft.com/ and install all the updates that are not optional (optional and hardware software optional can be ignored) and who do not update anything you don't want to update (such as Internet Explorer, etc.)
- Restart and repeat 13-14 until you have updated not more not optional, you need to install. Reboot once more for good measure.
- Download the latest version of Skype and install it. Reboot before running it.
* If possible, go the real manufacturer - not the whole machine - but the device. For example, if you have an Intel chipset based motherboard, download the drivers for it to Intel. If you have a video device nVidia, download the drivers for it from nVidia. If you have a Broadcom network device, download the drivers for it from Broadcom. If you have a RealTek audio device, download the drivers for it from RealTek. And so on...
If, after doing all this in this order, it still does not - it is probably a hardware problem or a Skype number. However, you might try ONE last thing. SFC/scannow. You will need your Windows XP CD-ROM.
After that - you are really left with material/Skype or something messed up so you might resign yourself to try a full installation of fresh erase (although I wouldn't do if I couldn't have my disk image and send it to where it was before I tried.)

Hello!
I have ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series (2 GB of Ram, Pentium R Dual Core CPU E5200 @ 2.5GHz, Vista SP2, 32-bit operating system. I don't know if it's important). Lately my computer has been crashing when I watch videos or play a loner, but not every time except solitaire. It freezes, green squares are everywhere, then it goes black and turns. I've updated just as much as I can, I cleaned everything as much as I can. It does not crash when I play games suitable as mass effect, and that seems to work very well.Description

When I try and play a video or a dvd from my computer crashes.
OT: Media Player-related problems.
When I try and play a video or dvd my computer crashes and I have to close, a blue box appears in the upper right corner, saying: I have new applications that can open this type of file, but not how to use them or what they are called or where to find them.
I down loaded VLC media player but it also refuses to play video clips and DVD and locks the computer as well.
I don't know much about computers just how to use it for what I need, any help will be appreciated.

Because it was not mentioned, which was the source Image formats with what you are / have been working?
http://explore.live.com/Windows-Live-Movie-Maker-file-types-FAQIf VLC can't play the file, it can be owner or damaged. In addition, VLC should have no problem with a standard DVD playback.
You can always try to convert it.
Freemake Video Converter is one of the most recommended video converters to help users to convert their SOURCE of videos in WMV. Freemake Video Converter is extremely easy to use, but there are a few ' opt-out ' the software provided with the installer that makes the user nervous. I created a post to illustrate the process of downloading the application, installation step by step, explaining what options are optional. I have also provided some screenshots on just how it is easy to convert your videos into WMV.

To help you, we will need files DMP to analyze what exactly happened at the time of the accident, etc.
If you don't know where the DMP files, here's how to get to them:
1. go to the Windows\Minidump folder.
2 copy all the DMP files in the Minidump folder on your desktop and zip then those files.
3 download the zip containing the files DMP to Skydrive or a Web hosting of your choice and paste in your answer. If you plan to use Skydrive, but do not know how to download it, please see the following:
http://www.WikiHow.com/use-SkyDrivePlease note that all "cleaner" such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc., default will remove files DMP when using because of their place too.
If your computer doesn't generate DMP files, follow these steps:
1. start > type systemroot which should show the Windows folder, click it. Once inside this folder, make sure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to create a new folder and name it Minidump.
2. Windows key + key Pause. This should appear in the system. Click Advanced on the left system settings > advanced > performance > settings > advanced > make sure there is a check mark for "manage automatically the size of pagefile for all readers."
3. Windows key + key Pause. This should appear in the system. Click Advanced on the left system settings > advanced > startup and Recovery > settings > failure > ensure there is a check mark next to "Write an event to the system log" > make sure that "automatically reboot" is unchecked.
Ensure that the partial memory image is turned on and make sure the path is % SystemRoot%\Minidump.
4. check that the viewers is ENABLED:
Start > Search > type services.msc > on the name tab, search for Windows Error Reporting Service > if the service status is not started, then right-click and select start. Also to ensure that, under Startup Type set to automatic rather than manual. You can do this by right click, select properties and under general selection on 'Automatic' startup type and then click on apply.
If you can not get into normal mode to do this, please do so via Safe Mode.
Kind regards
Patrick

My computer crashes when I look or make a video on MS movie maker
I have received some MS updates and downloaded into my computer. Now evertime I watch or try to make a video on MS movie maker, my computer crashes! I can go online, by email, you tube, everything except Word, news sites, use MS movie maker. WHY? How can I fix?
If you think that it happens after installing updates then go for a restoration of the system. Select any restore point when everything was working fine.

Hello
The first couple of line indicates a problem with your Nvidia video drivers, so that would be the starting point. Download and install a fresh game, update for your system here:http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
Uninstall the current set through the configuration/programs and features Control Panel, then reboot and install the new set. Do not install only the new on the 'old'.

Computer crashes when reading custom sounds
After downloading any file using Download Manager or DownloadThemAll, Firefox will freeze my computer. The hard disk completely stops. The keyboard and mouse are unresponsive; not even the caps or NumLock can turn the lights on my keyboard.
I did a disk check and a memory test, which found no errors.
When to disable the download completed sounds for two of these addons, Firefox functions normally.
This is not only a problem of addon, however, because TBird has developed a similar problem at the same time. (See my report this error, please go here: https://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging/topics/freezes_computer_when_playing_custom_sounds )All other sounds play very well, on YouTube and local actors.
To better solve this problem, I really need to know how Firefox (and TBird) play sounds. This problem appeared out of the blue without updates or the other program. I recently had to install java 7 64-bit, after already running only 32-bit on my 64-bit machine. I heard that this program is very buggy and could have caused serious problems. I uninstalled java and reinstalled java 6 32 bits, but that does not solve the problem. I think of a sound driver can have gone wrong, but it makes no sense that I can player other sounds seems fine, even Java take like Minecraft.
I have yet to discover another method by which I can reproduce this accident and I have tested intensively.
Thanks for your help.
Obsolete pluggins were:
Java - I rolled back to version 6 I thought it might be my problem.
Adobe Reader
QuickTime
Google Earth
I also have the VLC Player web, which was up to date.I recently came across a YouTube video which could cause in the same way to the crash site, so apparently, players can have the same effect.
I'll check my audio drivers as well to see if they could also be at fault.
- couple of days later *.
After updating the drivers, the problem disappeared. We are assuming that the problem was corrupt, drivers may be caused by 64-bit java 7, but this is just speculation.
Thank you
Problem solved
