Keyboard repair

I use a model of Pavillion DV7 - 1248 NB2344UA CL.  The key "enter" on the keyboard broke and it seems that nothing is wrong, but I can't stay normally.  This can be corrected?  If yes which?

There are plastic caps that must be in place to store the key correctly.  What you need to do is be sure to align correctly and then press the key to put back down to.  If you have lost, or are unable to do so, then you need either order a replacement (or key) keyboard and install it.

HP offers a service where they will send you the keyboard and you can pay to have a technician come out to install it or choose to install it yourself (if available).  Call 18004746836 and talk with the technical support of your options.

  • Laptop keyboard repair center took the picture of is not the same as the one I sent by mail in

A little more than a week, I sent my laptop DV7 in HP for the fixed sound, apparently the sound holes had gone wrong. Nothing else was wrong with the machine.  I had worked with the technician to chat for about 45 minutes, allowing access to the computer and everything he could find it is than its neeed replacement hardware ports. Still, the machine was working beautifully except for the sound. After that I got the box, I've had packed it correctly and picked up by FedEx. After a week I get a support call telling me there is water or liquid damage not covered by the warranty, I want to pay $240 to get it fixed. I knew there were never water damage to my machine. I was talking with him and it came down to fifty percent to $117. I was not happy. But later, when I got the photos, I knew that photo of the keyboard with the tasks of water it was not mine. I called and this person has allowed me to go up the scale to climbing team. I was reminded and fees I paid with a credit card could not be charged or refunded. I was happy about it until...

Until I got this note about repair and parts required for the repair

    FAN - HEAT SINK

    1 685445-001 MOTHERBOARD

    TOP OF 684559-001 - TOUCHPAD COVER 1

    KEYBOARD 685445-001

All these parts were bad, I could not have continued to use my machine without any problems for 2 days, and still less to enable a tech to enter my machine with the applet, I installed to see inside and to control. Everything that was wrong with the machine, I sent was scientifically. The machine they say is fixed is not mine. And, as I said, the picture of the keyboard water tinted / control pad almost looks photoshopped. It was not the machine that I had put in the FedEx box a week before. Everyone has heard something like that?  Still, this machine had no water damage ever while I had it. What HP service set hand on, it is something like this.

I get a machine on Tuesday. I don't even know, after all that be my machine. I know I've had several stickers on the top of the machine, so this will be a test. Of course to find the serial number may be next, not sure about this. I always let HP go in my machine when I chat online to help find all of this information. But, my Lord, the photos sent to me were horrible. As something left outside in the rain for days. This machine has been wonderful and I never would have allowed anything to what HP said had happened. I'm sure, as I said, I would not have been able to use it for several days as I waited for the box so it's like the service center said and sent photos of. I am at a loss. All this would be just a mistake? Again, I will see Tuesday, April 1 and write here what is what.

UPDATE: although not an explanation of the mystery, HP really made up for all the worries and confusion of the mysterious water damage. I am very happy all around.

Thank you. But my HP escalation manager did any good yesterday.

I use hp laptop 2000 for 5 months.

but suddenly a lot of key stoped working like 'g', 'h', BACKSPACE or DELETE.

I checked with HP consultant and conclude that laptop sent to the repair center.

Out of warranty so I would like to know what will be the cost for the repair. Location: Mumbai, India.

    Kind regards

This is the support forum for the consumer, not a business unit of HP. We would have no idea of what it would cost.

Contact the service center and ask them.

Suddenly I'm no longer can use Ctrl + C, Ctrl + Alt + Delete keyboard shortcuts, etc.

I tested it in a live cd of Linux, and reproduced it as well, it is not a software problem.

I tested the keyboard using a keyboard on the screen and all the buttons work, but not when I press a combination.

What is the proposed solution? Replacement of the keyboard will help you?

    Hi zhopon.

    Welcome to the Community Forums.

Based on what you've tried, seems that symptoms showing of material as possible with the keyboard.
So well since Linux live boot same problem would happen.
How about using an external USB keyboard, it works?

Turn off the computer and use the Novo button to turn on (issue 5, page 3). Choose from the menu of the BIOS Setup and the default optimal values for the output tab n then save change and the load output.

    Restart and check.

If the same question, especially if the external keyboard is ok then its accurate that we have the keyboard repaired.
You can check your warranty and call for support (you can also schedule them to call you on your favorite period).

An update on how it goes.

Each key on the keyboard has its share in the circuit without dependence on the other keys.  Just because someone broke a window in your home does not mean the rest are too broken. ;-0

Get the keyboard repaired/replaced.m last time I did it for one person (replaced a laptop keyboard) it took 20 minutes to actually do it-most of the deletion of a lot of small screws and a conservative to avoid losing.  (Not counting the delivery the day 2 of the replacement keyboard.)

What brand / model of the laptop?

  • (Space key) Apple wireless keyboard is repairable?

My old wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard of 5 years was apparently a defective key space bar. The problem is not with the elastic key mechanism, but with the actual connection of keys hidden in the body of the keyboard. I heard that it is NOT repairable. Is this true?

The keyboard had other less critical problems as well. He loved, from time to time, is not to get paired with my iMac, so I had to switch to a reserve USB keyboard. However, when the offender has been almost left that she paired and reconnected himself by himself.

Should I throw in and buy the new keyboard of magic? -I don't like the connection of the USB cable.

Sorry, but your question has nothing to do with Apple networks. I suggest that you resubmit your message in the screen area of the Apple Support communities in order to get a potential solution.

    Hey Buddy

I think you have misunderstood something. This is a forum for a user to... Who should know how long will take the replacement of keyboard...

If you have a problem with his computer laptop then you will need to contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country.

Each service partner/point work and fix the laptop apart from another service point.

Here you will find all the large ASP Word:

You should get in touch with the ASP that repair the laptop and should ask how long will take the repair process

  • Compaq presario CQ60: some of my system in my keyboard butten malfunctioning, please can it be repaired?

It produces noise whenever I have on my system

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

If by "sounds" you mean that you get beep sounds whenever you press some keys on the keyboard, which implies that the keyboard is faulty and that it would need to be replace.

Laptop keyboard, unlike an external keyboard, are supposed to be light, not damaged, so they can't really be repaired; Instead, they are designed to be replaceable.

Problem is with an older laptop that is out of warranty, even if the real keyboard could be as cheap as $25 USD (I replaced a little, me), the price of labor can be very high – to the extent that they exceed the replacement cost of the laptop.

So, my suggestion is that you take the laptop to a repair shop and get them to provide you with an estimate of how much it would cost to replace the keyboard.  Also, you should ask him about running hardware diagnostics in the laptop to see if anything else fails.

    Good luck

    Hello

Looks like you have poorly defined the keyboard layout.

If you have more than one keyboard layout in Windows 10, you can switch between them by keeping the CTRL key and pressing the SHIFT key

You can also change the layout for your keyboard as shown in the link below.

  • Keyboard will not work to start the Recovery Console repair function

I would like to use the repair feature in Windows XP Professional Recovery Console when starting Onboard or USB CD-ROM drive.  My keyboard works very well to enable F12 and select boot device.  Windows Setup starts and then loads bunch of pilots - looking... but then my keyboard won't work for select 'R' to start the Recovery Console repair.  All this started because I uninstalled a Lexmark printer and it seems that the driver Lexmark LXBTtime.dll lack now but still wants Windows to start.   So now Config\System will not load.  I saw some threads in this forum recommend that my wireless keyboard does not work - so I borrowed a USB wired keyboard - but still the same problem.  Cannot select 'R' - the keyboard light turns off and of course not recognised by Windows Setup.  Any ideas or suggestions?  In addition to the purchase of a MAC (it was my suggestion of neighbors :-)   Thanks for the review!

    Hello

In addition to the suggestion of Daavee I would also ask you try another disk of Windows XP installation and also you can try with a keyboard five General PIN and check.

    I hope this helps.

  • Repair of broken keyboard key...

I purcharsed a 2000 HP Notebook PC of my college on December 18, 2012 book store. They offer me for the purchase of any security or anything like that, but today (29 January 2013) broke off one of the keys on the keyboard. Now I'm wondering if there is anything I can fix this. I know that the phone comes with one year warranty, and I would like to know if this kind of repair to be covered by this warranty. Or could it even be repaired? If so, how much will cost me there?

    Hello

Yes, even if this warranty information is not provided that you still have a warranty covered by hp that you just have to contact hp techinical support and let know them that the key is broken because of the wear and tear of the product and give them the details of the purchase if you have the receipt or simply to provide the product and serial number they will help you.only one single key wil not be replace by HP they will replace the full keyboard try this and let me know for further assistance.
