Keyboard type in windows. Help

I was typing on my Asus laptop, when all of a sudden the keyboard starts acting weird.  My mouse zoom instead of scroll wheel.  So stupid me off the computer, well now I can't get back in.  It won't let me type my password.  "M" key acts as an enter key and BACKSPACE fills space password but I don't know with what.  Being that it's an asus they have this secondary system, I can get into that and type perfectly, absolutely no problem.  If it is a windows problem, as far as I can tell, but I can not understand how to fix it.  I can't start in safe mode, because it won't let me type my password.  Please phone computer help.this has my life on it.

I realized that this should be in the devices, originally published in performance, sorry

Hello

First you must connect to your laptop, then only certain diagnosis can be made for software problems but before this essay presents first

Try an external keyboard and check if youy can enter your password or go to ease of access control panel (you can find it at the bottom of your login screen left extrem), choose use the computer without a mouse or keyboard, see use on-screen Keyboard, click Ok.

If yes then follow the following steps

1. go to control panel-> region and language-> change keyboards or other input methods

then click change keyboards... tab and select the default input (United States) English language

2. check and update your drivers keyboard and mouse in Device Manager

I hope this will solve your problem...

  • What is the shortcut keys to switch the display type in Windows Explorer

To change a folder in Details view in Windows 7, I hit Alt->-> D V. This does not work in Windows 8 because the active / disables the details pane rather than switch the display type. There is that no letters hung over the types of display (icons, list, details, etc.), seeming to imply there is no keyboard shortcut to change the display.

Am I missing something, or is there really no shortcuts for this in Windows 8?

Original title: registry problem affecting system restore etc.

The system restore calendar is empty, I can't put new points, and I can't use Windows help because I can not type in the dialog box. If the problem is described in the doc #313853, the solution he proposed did not. Defeating my cleanups registry also seems not to help. Any suggestions?

To all of you who have tried to help me with this problem, I recently came across a solution - I had to reinstall Internet Explorer, which I think had been compromised by my registry cleaner. I never use, so it didn't occur to me that there is something wrong with it. But that seems to have fixed all the problems.

  • HP Pavilion 550-127C: HP is KU-0316 keyboard compatible with Windows 10?

Just bought a new HP Pavilion 550-127C desktop computer, but I hate the keyboard that comes with it.

My old Gateway keyboard will not work with it.  I love KU-0316 keyboard of HP but can't find it in the store and do not want to order unless I know it will work.

If not this one, which will make?  (which is easy to use Delete and Backspace keys and keypad digital)

    Hello TxCalico,

When you say 'old keyboard gateway", which was not working because it was wired as a PS2 and not USB?

There are adapters available PS2 USB if you were really want work-specific keyboard.

The KU-0316 is just a basic USB keyboard and should work just fine as would any other USB keyboard.

There is no special driver related to keyboards USB and Windows 10, unless the specific keyboard had special hot keys that depend on the software prior to use.

    Hope that helps.

You can completely disable Windows XP search for a single user.  If you just want to do it for the current user, follow these steps:

    ===========
    1. Select run from the start menu.
    2. Type "cmd" and press ENTER.
    3. Type "reg Export HKU backup.reg" and press ENTER.
    4. Type "reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer /v NoFind /t REG_DWORD /d 1" and press ENTER.
    5. closure of the session and log in.
    ===========

You'll notice that you can't find any options to search anywhere in Windows, after you follow these steps.  However, it is only good for the current user.  If you want to do this for each user, you must follow these steps for each user listed in the hive HKEY_USERS (include. BY DEFAULT).  You can find these users by typing "reg Query HKU" and pressing Enter.  You can ignore all of the Scriptures that end in '_Classes', but for each other, replace "HKCU" in step 4 with 'HKU\ '. By DEFAULT' (replace. By DEFAULT, with the user, as required).

    Hey dhender,

Looks like the file association is messed up. Change the file association for help and Support and see if it works.

Here's how to fix the associated file.

    a. Click Start and type default programs in the start search field.

    b. click default programs list programs.

    c. click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.

    d. find the .hlp file.

    e. Select .hlp file and click Change program.

    f. Select Windows Winhlp32 Stub list.

    This should be it.

Detailed explanation of the file association is available here.

  • Windows Help and support stopped working error8E5E03FA

using Windows Vista and supprt worked Ok but stopped for some reason error 8e5e03fa, also impossible to install critical updates. any help?

    Hello

    You can view these methods:
    Method 1:
I can't open the help that was created in Windows Help format (WinHlp32.exe)
    Method 2:
Try the SFC scan on the computer.
SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary.
Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows. In view of this, plus the fact that the SFC/scannow is completely automatic and very easy to use, the tool should be usually one of your top not troubleshooting.
    Reference:
How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7
    Windows Update problem:
    You can view these methods:
    Method 1:
Access the link below and run repair to reset the Windows Update components on your computer. Try to install the updates.

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, you can try the steps below and run Windows Update on your computer. It could help us solve the problem.

1 restart the computer in safe mode (to restart in mode safe keep pressing F8 on reboot).

    2. click on the start menu and in the search box start type CMD.

    3. in the list right click on CMD, and then click Run as administrator.

    4. at the command prompt, type net stop cryptsvc.

    5 rename C:\windows\System32\Catroot2 Catroot2.old.

6 open the C:\windows folder, and then rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution as SoftwareDistribution.old.

    7. at the command prompt, type net start cryptsvc, and press enter

8 restart the computer in normal mode

    9. run updates and check if you are able to get the updates without any error.

  • Windows help keeps popping up

Windows help keeps popping up in any programme of work to im. I work in MS WORD, it will pop up and when I open the Task Manager to check it out, it appears to help with the Task Manager, I see a few people have had the same problem before, is there a solution for this and for the record, my F1 key is not stuck...

You'd read the other thread of similar problem. This question is on a XP machine.
If you also have an XP, please do not take into account the following.
If you are using Vista, please read on...

This happens for some time or since the first day. If it's not too long, and if you remember a good date when you did not have this problem, do a system restore.
Choose this good as your restore point date (it is your list of points of restoration as far behind).

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Disable the Dvorak keyboard type option left?

I use an HP with Vista Home Premium, SP2 computer.

I had a nephew to use my computer for a while and he installed the Dvorak keyboard type option left just to see what it was. Now, we cannot uninstall or disable it.  We went through the steps in linguistic environment several times and for each user on the computer (there are 2 more guest account, where the power is off). HOWEVER, the Dvorak option appears on the default login screen and I am required to change the layout of EVERY single time that I connect. It's maddening!  Is there something beyond delete language option and the keyboard that can solve this problem?  How can it be so simple to install this option, but it is almost impossible to get rid of?

I even bought another keyboard (USB) and let that settle at the start, but the default Dvorak layout is always making fun of me. Please help me find my sanity.  Thank you.

However, the tab help and Support Windows automatically opens & can not be closed before reopening. Also, I rarely use Internet Explorer but choose to use Google Chrome & Mozilla Firefox also. Sometimes, but not always, after connecting to the internet from hundreds of particular web browser help pages load at a time. I can only close out of the browser by pressing Alt + F4. Hello

Once up and running, click on start and type regedit. Hit and click on continue in the UAC prompt. Navigate to this key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Click it, and then double-click the string "shell" in the right pane. Change the content a little:

    Explorer.exe

Click ok, then close the registry editor and restart the system normally.
