Kiosk Mode FX100 mode

Does the Dell FX100 kiosk mode?

Require an update of the firmware?

Anyone know where I can find the firmware update?  Please give the link

Read this article: http://www.burdweiser.com/?m=201104

They point to a link where you can get the firmware. The author suggests that this thin client is intended to connect to a Dell PC blade. I don't know how true that is, but it can be interesting to your inquiry. We use thin clients Wyse P20 and they do not have built in Kiosk mode. I hope this helps.

    rKiosk is not designed for mobile Firefox. You will need to do your own hacking to get what you want.

  • I want to configure firefox in kiosk mode, but I need to have the Back button (and before) and the available home button.

    The computer will be used only to access online catalog in my library. I need to remove the location toolbar, but keep the "back" button and the "home" button. If I use the Kiosk mode, I do not have the "previous" button. I can set it up so that I have the buttons but not the URL, but a user could right-click on the menu bar and reactivate the address bar. I need to stop them from doing it.
    Thank you!

    Users can always bring up an address bar with the shortcut Ctrl + L if this bar is hidden.

    One possibility is to hide the toolbar elements and elements of (context) menu with code in userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #openLocation, #urlbar-container, #CustomizeToolbarWindow, #toolbar-context-menu {

  • Kiosk Mode with User Login

    I'm running Wyse V10L under RDP for a response service.  Each light Wyse client connects to a virtual machine specific, based on Mac. the customer once connected to the Windows virtual machine, the operator is prompted for their username and password.  This combination allows each user to have their own personalized desktop, while each virtual machine software is configured to connect to the right line for the wired headset located at the counter.

    I have performance issues with RDP, especially the loss of sound so that operators do not hear the ringing of incoming calls.  I thought that I would try PCoIP and the first tests look good, and the general 'feel' the improvement of the machine is amazing.

    But I am running into a problem.  I need every individual to connect to a specific virtual machine Wyse P20.  If the operator seated at the "station 1" Gets the appropriate virtual machine.  I thought that the Kiosk mode would solve that, as it may be based on the Wyse client MAC, but he also writes Windows using this cm-* user.

    How can I ensure that a specific client always gets the mapping to the same virtual machine, while allowing users to connect to Windows.  Worse, is that a user can sit at any station, so even by assigning a subset of users for each machine is not going to work.

    Thanks for any help.

    Disable the SSO should give you your desired result. Your portion of the booth you will get by the broker and the allocated VM. With disabled SSO it breaks down at the Windows logon. Then, the user must enter their user name and password for the domain.

  • VMware ACE - kiosk mode

    I'm looking for a solution to a problem we encountered with VMware ACE emergency.

    The CEA was conducted with Workstation 6.5 for Windows, set to enter into "Kiosk" mode, which prevents all access to the host operating system.

    What I'm trying to understand, is how to get the virtual machine starts automatically (done) and delete the obligation click on the dialog box "mode kiosk enter".

    I assume that there is a command line switch / or line of file vmx for this, but I can't find it anywhere... any help you could give would be most appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Kind regards

    Alan.

    Hello

    to avoid this dialog box simply use the '-k' option to switch to mode-kios.

  • the desire of firefox kiosk mode when the mode full screen allows a URL one exit (other than ALT + F4) required for the enterprise timesheet entry. No opt. No navigation.

    using win 7 SP1, firefox 18 with kiosk software component snap-in r_kiosk - 0.9.0 - fx.xpi to x 86. Mode full-screen kiosk uses a URL to the entry of company time sheet. Firefox is not company standard and should only be provided for this purpose. We are apt to virtualized delivery via AppV and have a solution, BUT... Really like the absence of toolbars providing no other choice to the user. Do not click no right, no navigation. Perfect except there is no fence or exit option except STROKE keyboard such as ALT + F4. I'm not talented enough to modify the XPI file to provide a booth full screen BUT with an option to close simple enough for 3500 users. Advice appreciated.

    Hello

    You can see the kiosk for Firefox modules. A quick search on addons.mozilla.org gave me this result: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/r-kiosk/. Have not tested it myself, but I hope that it is close to what you are in demand!

    See you soon,.

  • Windows 10 in Kiosk Mode

    I have successfully assigned kiosk to a user account Mode in Windows 10 for classic Windows Application using the Shell Launcher. My question is, can I do the same thing through a desktop connection remote?

    This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • How can I stop Firefox toolbar pop up when the mouse is above the screen mode full screen (without kiosk mode, please)?

    I don't want the toolbar always there (so disable auto hide does not solve the issue). I would prefer a right-click or use a combination of keys to retrieve the toolbar. The toolbar arise at any time that the mouse is near the top of the screen is too distracting. It should be an option, users can enable or disable or card for anything other than the mouse hovering. The only solution I've seen mentioned is to go the full kiosk with something like R-kiosk, but it's really a too extreme solution to a simple problem. Is there a setting already hidden in the topic-config for this problem or is it a feature request? Thank you.

    There is no built-in way to disable this feature to display the toolbars when you move the mouse to the top.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #fullscr-toggler { display:none!important; }

    The file userChrome.css (UI) customization and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the folder of chrome in the Firefox profile folder.

    You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

    • Create the folder chrome (lowercase) in the .default < xxxxxxxx > profile folder if the folder does not exist
    • Use a text editor like Notepad to create a userChrome.css (new) file in the folder chrome (file name is case sensitive)
    • Paste the code in the userChrome.css file in the Editor window
    • Make sure that the userChrome.css file starts with the default @namespace line
    • Make sure that you select "All files" and not "text files" when you save the file via "save file as" in the text editor as userChrome.css.
      Otherwise, Windows can add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with one does not not userChrome.css.txt file
  • How do you turn off notifications that appear at the bottom of the page when you request a page ("waiting... ', 'connection... '. ») ? I am trying to launch Firefox in Kiosk mode and remove any indication that content is online.

    I have a layout with an iFrame that displays a page for a while, and then the source of the iFrame is updated via Javascript. Whenever JavaScript updates the page, a small gray notification window appears for about a second indicating the change of URL for iFrame ("waiting... ' or 'Looking up... '. ' or 'connection... '. ("track of the URL). I would like to disable these notifications so that page changes URL in the iFrame without notification of the change of browser.

    You can use this extension to hide the ToolTip that indicates the URL for a link on hover and other data that was previously in the status bar.

  • Kiosk with automatic Windows XP (other user) connection mode

    Greetings,

    I'm having some trouble getting kiosk mode to work with automatic sign next to windows xp.

    Kiosk mode works if I disable autologon (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231), but when it enabled it gives an error saying that all desktop computers are in use.

    The strange thing is that when I enable autologon and I manually log on with another user the username that is customized to the kioskmode can I disconnect and reconnect on the desktop, all I want. But at the point where I have activate automatic login with another user that the custom user name he gives all desktop computers are currently in use error.

    Does anyone know if the Kiosk mode with automatic logon to another user than the user username custom work?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bram

    Might work if you turn off automatic logon, and then use the view GPO to disable the SSO, then allow the user to connect with the name of user and password you want.

  • Workstation 12 exclusive Mode

    Product: VMWare Workstation Pro 12

    Host: Windows 7 SP1

    VM: Windows 7 SP1

    Use of the VM: SCADA HMI - essentially the Kiosk Mode

    I'm looking for a way to have the virtual machine to start in exclusive mode automatically, essentially creating a kiosk environment.

    I am currently deploy 12pcs industrial workstation at the manufacturing plant. These computers are currently configured as follows

    • Automatic startup and connection of the host operating system
    • Autostart and VMware mode connection full screen
    • Automatic start of the SCADA software that has built-in filtering of CTRL, ALT, Win key for OS VM

    • Host operating system use Sharpkeys to turn off CTRL left and disable the ALT right as method of obfuscation to prevent accidental exclusive mode
    • The value to hide the edge of the toolbar of VMware
    • VMs will be protected to prevent changes to VMware

    If an engineer starts the system, they are asked to put the virtual machine in exclusive mode. Obfuscation prevents most operators to discover the correct method of CTRL + ALT key to take the virtual machine in exclusive mode. We can both sets of CTRL, ALT keys if necessary, but it is not the purpose of this post.

    However if the user reboots the machine, which they have been known to do, the virtual machine does not start in exclusive mode, which represents an opportunity for operators interested in search or access the desktop of the host. It's not supposed to be an analysis of standard operating procedures and documents indicating the operator don't not to 'play '.

    Is there an integrated method, or by the use of 3rd party software, by which we can ensure the virtual machine starts in exclusive mode?

    Workaround to exclusive mode and create a nickname Kiosk Mode

    Use vmware-kvm option.

    With VMware Workstation 12, you can run virtual machines with VMware KVM, which allows you to use

    shortcut keys to switch between the execution of virtual machines and the host, as if they were attached to a KVM switch

    By default, you will not have a toolbar. In the KVM mode preferences (run vmware - kvm.exe - preferences), you can disable the CTRL + ALT key capture, allowing you to host. Since it allows the switching key you will take care to set the key to something like F2 switch, then use a free program like Sharpkeys to remove the assignment of the F2 key on the host. This essentially locks the user in the guest operating system by trapping the F2 key to pass. You do even if you don't have that 1 virtual machine running as the default behavior is to switch to the host operating system.

    There is one last caveat, Ctrl + Alt + Del is always available. It will activate the host and guest OS Secure Attention sequence (SAS). This can be bad. Never fear there is ways around this problem. Registry keys using following you can disable/remove all options on the screen Ctrl + Alt + Delete.  The user sees only a Cancel button. You may need to do this in your OS invited also based on this software is running. I use Wonderware that allows only keytrap mechanisms so only the host was necessary for me.

    In this file (saved as a .reg) applying it will do the following:

    For the computer Local - all options enabled (do not want to lock other users, such as recording manually as an administrator)

    For the current user (assumed there is auto login user by default)

    Disable/remove the following options:

    • Hide the fast user switching
    • Disable Task Manager
    • Disable Lock Workstation
    • Disable change password
    • No logoff

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    ; This disables the CTRL ALT DEL Secure Attention sequence (SAS) options

    ; anti-pop filter

    "DisableChangePassword ' = -.

    "DisableTaskMgr" = -.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem\\\]

    "DisableLockWorkstation =.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

    "DisableTaskMgr" = DWORD: 00000001

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

    "DisableLockWorkstation" = DWORD: 00000001

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]

    "DisableChangePassword" = DWORD: 00000001

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

    "NoLogOff" = DWORD: 00000001

    You can also use sharpkeys turn off Ctrl, Alt, delete (6 total) function keys but you must do so within the host and the guest, and this could prove problematic.

    There are other ways to accomplish this as removing the shell from Explorer to the host operating system at startup and its replacement by the VMware - KVM.exe (it's another registry setting), Ditto for the guest operating system.

  • Launch vmware player in hidden mode?

    Hello

    Could you please help me?

    How I can run in hidden mode vmware player?

    Please explain your question a little clearer.  What exactly do you mean by running the player mode 'hidden '?  Having a virtual machine running in the context that the user does not see, or a virtual machine running in Kiosk mode so that the host operating system is hidden?

  • Vista (kiosk) user account number

    My parents bought a laptop from Costco, and they got an agreement because it was a machine of the display. However as a screen machine that was apparently the installation program to run in a sort of store-use Kiosk mode.  I was able to add new accounts that work very well for them, but I can't figure how to remove the kiosk of the machine account.  It will automatically try to connect to this account of booth at the start.  When I go to the "account management" in the Control Panel, I don't see a "Kiosk" account, but I certainly see a login screen.  I think it's probably some sort of registry thing trying the automatic connection, but I would not dare to start messing around with it unless I got professional help.  I appreciate all the advice I can get.

    Hello

    Follow these steps:

    1. click on start, type control userpasswords2 and press ENTER.
    2. under the users tab, check on "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"
    3. If you see the account name "kiosk" listed in, select the username and click on remove
    4. click on Ok

    Kind regards

    Thank you very much!

    Found. Asked our supplier of TC to give us a helping hand. devtools. WebConsole.Enabled False did! It turns off just the Web console all together none of these tools are available.
