  It looks like a double post of the forum OBISE.

  Anyway, the area of OBIEE Client tools available only on Windows OS. Catalog Manager does not come with the commissioning customer.

  Several order lines are availalble in the catalogue on Linux. Look under the following location on your installation, C:\oracle\fmw\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalogmanager

  There should be a file .sh or. sh.tmplt file that will allow you to run some CLI commands for the Catalog Manager.

  I have not tried this on Linux, but using the equivalent .cmd file from this location on a system operating Windows works fine.

• Maximum simultaneous tasks available under Linux.

  I used the converter for a few weeks now.  I would like to be able to set up a queue of tasks to have the converter to start now.  However, I'm unable to change the maximum number of virtual guests on a linux vmware converter standalone installation.

  When the demon of converter is linux on a machine, I connect via another machine with the customer installed linux or a windows with the client box is installed.  When I select the Administration, simultaneous tasks Maximum is not available.  The same result occurs when I connect from the client linux for itself (localhost).  However when I connect to the converter of windows server, the "Maximum simultaneous tasks" option is available.

  Does anyone know how to set this option for vmware converter for linux server?  I tried editing /etc/vmware-converter/converter-agent.xml and /etc/vmware-converter/converter-server.xml and replace the parameter of vmacore - & gt; threadPool - & gt; TaskMax 40-to-1.  The result being that the client could not connect or demon is deceased early solange, respectively.

  Go to a command line, and then run the following as root.  Root is the only one who has permissions to modify the file that contains the number of concurrent tasks.

  /usr/lib/VMware-vCenter-converter-standalone/bin/VMware-Converter-client

  I doubt that web sites use the widget 'Check now' to check the latest version of Flash Player.  Content providers more to define their content to use a specific version of Flash, especially if this version contains some features that they use in their game/application, not necessarily the most recent version.  One option is to use Google Chrome which incorporates Flash Player and use the latest major version (21).  PPAPI plugin is also supported on Ubuntu for Chrome browsers (Opera, for example).  If you use Ubuntu and are not opposed to the opera, it is another option.

  I read in other threads that VMware has deleted the VMware Tools GUI in VMware Workstation 9 and that command no longer exists so that Tools-vmware-cmd box .

• MainMem.useNamedFile is available in Linux Workstation 7.0.1?

  I'm trying to optimize the performance of the virtual computer.  I found a suggestion to move vmem file in RAM virtual machine by placing it in / tmp, with / tmp defined as tmpfs.  It's supposed to be accomplished in part by adding the mainMem.useNamedFile = false option to vmx file to the virtual machine.  I did it, but he seems to have no effect.  The vmem file does not move in / tmp, he remains in the directory of virtual machine data.

  Where my question.  This option is no longer available?

  I use Linux Workstation 7.0.1 build 227600.

  I saw this formatted option in many ways.  I tried all the:

  mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE".

  mainMem.useNamedFile = "false".

  mainMem.useNamedFile = false

  I tried the option in vmx file both the virtual machine and/etc/vmware/config.

  forget all the advice of setting to workstations earlier - they do more work for Linux and WS 7

  mainmem.useNamedFile is only used on Windows

  The new parameters for Linux are:

  mainmem.backing = 'swap '.

  It only works on 64-bit Linux hosts and produces a similar behavior on Windows hosts with mainmem.useNamedFile = "false".

  This parameter can result in improved performance for the unique virtual machines - but it has the disadvantage that you can run as many virtual machines at the same time because without it!

  mainmem.backing = 'name '.

  This example uses a mainmem file in the same directory as the vmx file

  This is equivalent to mainmem.useNamedFile = 'true' used with older versions on Linux hosts

  mainmem.backing = "no name".

  This example uses a mainmem file in / tmp

  This is equivalent to mainmem.useNamedFile = 'false' used with older versions on Linux hosts

  These settings should work inside a vmx for the special VM file only - or in the global configuration file for all virtual machines

  I installed jdk1.6.0_25 in my 15 fedora and redhat linux Server 5 using the rpm package... all cooomands work except javap command... when I give this command it is significant command not found... If I have installled by using the bin file then javap command works... can you give me solution for it... Thanks in advance

  The way that Linux find commands has nothing to do with the CLASSPATH; This has to do with the path.

  Try

  export PATH="$PATH:{full path to directory containing 'javap'}"
  

  and then run it again. Once you have it in your shell, I suggest that you add this line to/etc/profile.

  I met another problem.

  1. Installed Linux 6.5 on 3 machines
     1. VSS-DB-SERVER
     2. VSS-OTM-SERVER
     3. VSS-BI-DB-SERVER
  2. The VSS-DB-SERVER installed Oracle 11 g DB. (Able to access any part of the world by SqlDeveloper) $ORACLE_HOME is perfectly set and the database is running
  3. VSS-OTM-Server I installed the below in the respective order successfully.
     1. JRocket
     2. WebLogic Server
     3. OSH
     4. OTM 6.3 (no FTI)

  This is where I am facing the problem.

  This server how to use sqlplus / as sysdba

  As I need to perform a certain activity post installation.

  Why are you trying to run sqlplus on a server that is not running the database? Just run it on the database server. However, if you really need to run sqlplus on another machine, you must install it. Look for the Oracle Instant Client and install the Basic and SQL * Plus packages to get the client works. You will need to use the forum of the database for more information on how to set this up, however.

• Expand the space available for Linux OS

  I cloned a VM from a template.

  The model had a single 40 GB of virtual disk.

  The model had a directory/tmp is 5 GB size

  I went in vsphere client and made the 100 GB of virtual disk.  There is always a single virtual disk

  After commissioning, the directory/tmp is still 5 GB in size.

  DF h shows still all original directories according to their original format.

  Should what steps I take for on the partition, volume, file system, etc. to enable the directory/tmp 50 GB?

  File system is ext4 and OS Centos 6

  Note: some times, for Linux OS, restart the virtual machine is necessary due to a bug in fdisk.

• Command not available via SSH?

  Hi all:

  is there a difference when I SSH into ESX host using a regular user account (since ESX does not root to be SSH'ed in default without changing the configuration file)

  I needed to restart the service so I typed

  restart vmware-mgmt services

  for example

  the SSH session (I did a root able to run the command as root) recongize used this command but in the ESX Server console, it is allowed

  am I suppose to have some changes in access within the SSH or what needs to be done

  These newspapers are specific to the ESX Server and is in the SC, hostd.log will probably be the most helpful when you try to add the host and might get an idea about what is the question.

  You can do the following before try again you:

  tail -f /var/log/vmware/hostd.log
  

  This will allow you to communicate with the host and vCenter, if there is in fact... a few keystrokes back before trying again then paste that here. You can do the same for the other newspapers by settling perhaps the last 30 40lines if there is nothing of obvious on what maybe causing the problem. There are moments where it takes a restart of the vCenter service, which could be a last resort, I had to go this way sometimes.

• sqlplus: command not found on Linux

  I have installed Oracle 10.2.1.0 in Ubuntu 10.10 My Setup was fine, I could even open isqlplus([http://ubuntu.ubuntu-domain:5560/isqlplus/workspace.uix]) and run queries...]) But, back in the terminal when I try to connect to sqlplus I get error

  sqlplus: command not found

  What could be the reason for this?

  -I switch tells grep to filter case insensitive. It will also pick up your WAY, if it includes (as it should) a reference to the oracle bin directory.

• Sharing of active command not available for users

  I searched all day for some reason why my non-admin in Contribute 3 users can't insert images via the Insert-> option of Division of property. The command is dimmed. Their role permissions have "authorize unlimited edition", so I can't understand why they would be excluded from this shared good feature. I REALLY want to give these users full administrator privileges. They become tired to rerun new connection key everytime I try to chance a new setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  It seems that by disabling the ability of the user to insert images (with the exception of shared property) is the way to go. As long as an administrator I was spoiled as I can insert images any way I chose (insert--> images, cut-and - paste and shared property). As a normal user, it's one or the other, either shared assets or Insert--> Images, not both.

  So in order to give users the ability to access shared property, you must go and set "Allow unrestricted editing" then check the option 'prevent users to insert images. After that they activate the connection key it then only allows them to insert images in active sharing feature.
