Labelling of a backup CD

I have Windows Vista and the automatic backup set. I have the backup set to my reader of CD E. When the backup starts, it stops and asks a disc with a label how to label a disk? I tried to format a blank disc again 3 times and after formatting, none of them work as a backup.

Hello

In Windows Vista, there is no model integrated to create DVD labels however; You can visit this link to create labels for CD/DVD.

This problem occurs if you use the "backup and Restore Center" to back up files and folders on a CD that contains already data or on DVD, which already contains data.

In order to provide a reliable backup, the "backup and Restore Center" point is not compatible by using the media to which data has been written.

To work around this problem, insert a new blank media in the CD drive or in the DVD drive when you use the "Backup and Restore Center" item to back up files and folders in Windows Vista.

This behavior is by design.

For further information, please see these articles.

  • choice list that is a list of users

    Hi all

    I am trying to create a drop-down list that is a list of active users. Basically, what I need is another field of owner. We store salesreps backup on each account. We use the owner as the salesrep field and I would like another field with the same list of choice but labeled as "Salesrep backup." No idea how I can accomplish this?

    Thank you!

    Sharon

    Sharon, you can create a personalized list of users (VRP) choice. However, you must update to the new VRP or when a VRP of leaves. If you want a different field as the owner with search field then I would recommend that you submit a request for improvements to the service customer CRM On Demand.

  • How to avoid a personal URL?

    I just upgraded from PSE 4 to 9. Elements 9 seems to require a login to gain access to most of the help and tutorials. That is would be fine except that connection requires that I create a personal URL. I don't want a personal URL. Never I don't want any file or any other information to be uploaded to or saved to an Adobe server. Several posts I read say that there is no way to prevent the backup of files of PES 9 (what files I don't know but I guess the image files) except on do not create an account, so it is impossible to connect.

    Is it possible to access tutorials and other materials without creating a URL and no possibility that any file or any type of information could all be transferred to an Adobe server? Thank you.

    Hello

    First of all, you can share your data on Adobe servers to your choice. If you don't want to download your files to photoshop.com, you can simply disable the backup/Sync feature. To disable this function:

    -Launch Organizer

    -Press Ctrl + K(on Windows) or command + K (Mac), select backup/synchronization

    -If you are connected, you will see a checkbox labeled on that backup/synchronization is

    -Uncheck this box

    Nothing wiill be synchronized anywhere.

    If you have an Adobe Id, you will get a link "Tips and tricks" on the home screen where you can get several video and pdf tutorials. And believe me they are very useful. You will also be able to access these tutorials by help-> elements still browser... in the Application.

    But if you don't want to create any Adobe id, you can get help from the following:

    -Help and support link in the Welcome screen

    or

    -Start the Application and press F1.

    Thank you

    I hope I am posting this on the forum,

    Hello

    D: is not a partition backup of your machine.

    Acer has a time set up their machines to the way yours is:

    They had a C: drive for the operating system, a drive D: for data (music, movies, etc you would like to register and a recovery partition 'hidden' to reinstall the operating system and to make the recovery discs to do the same thing.)

    You can merge C: and D: as a whole, BUT save all data on D: first because it will be deleted when you merge.

    And YES, you back up the data on an external hard drive in case of hard drive failure, the corruption of the system, etc.

    See you soon.

  • Windows Vista backup and restore: no path to write the disc label

    Original title: Back-up-Windows Vista

    Automatic backup on windows vista provides a label to write on the dvd in the external disk drive. There is no pop-up window to indicate where to write that the label - so fails it AutoSave.

    When I insert a blank DVD RW in the drive E back-up indicates firstly that there is no disc in drive E. When I insert this disc a second time, that a pop-up window indicates that I have to label this disk as shown above, but there is no path [local] who then shows how to label this disc.

    Brucebkb123,

    I would, if I were you, save all the time and the aggravation of the use of DVDs for backup of files.
    Go to a RELIABLE computer store (not Best Buy), ask for an EXTERNAL hard drive for backup of files. Not the 'E' drive that you said. This isn't an external hard drive.
    Today, a drive Ext. hard can easily be done for less than $100. It is well worth, instead of pulling your hair.

    Make sure what you say "external hard drive for backing up files.

  • PC Backup in the iMac desktop folder

    Hi all.  I need help any iMac user who also have a Win10 PC, who has resolved to support problem until Win10 a folder on the desktop iMac computer. Yes maybe that's a problem of Win10 sending data, but I'm looking for help in case it comes to Mac data reception problem.

    On my laptop 2 Yoga Pro running Windows 10 Pro, I connected successfully to the network location \\IMAC27\Desktop\BackupYoga.  (For some reason, Win10 backup labels itself as Windows 7 but I don't think this is related).

    The backup seems to start normally and runs for maybe 10 to 15 minutes without the slightest trace of error and with the progress shown on the progress bar. However he ends up by doesn't end, and I don't know why.  See two screenshots.  Some advice from someone who has solved this problem?  Thank you.

    I guess that's via SMB on the network, that's going to choke when it encounters a file more than 4 GB.

  • Load new Time Capsule with backup t. m.?

    I have an end 2013 27 "iMac running OS X El Capitan, version 10.11.6, with a new 3 TB Time Capsule. In the process of upgrading my original model A1470, 2 TB Time Machine awkwardly, I managed to detach the tablecloth of the end circuit rather than simply ripped hard drive making rubber on the 2 TB hard drive itself. This time Capsule is actually useless now. I installed the original drive work with my TM backups in a USB 3 enclosure with the intention of transferring its contents to my new Time Capsule. When the original Monte drive, it shows as 3 (?) partitions, labeled: APconfig; APswap; and the data. 'Data' has 84,46 GB of data in files "Backups.backupdb" and "ShareRoot. The other partitions are essentially empty-APconfig with a single file "AFP.reconect_keys" to 24 bytes and a total content of 15.6 MB and APswap without files containing 15.3 mb.

    How to use this original TC hard disk to load my backups Time Machine on my NEW 3 to Time Capsule? I only discovered how to load a T.C. from file to archive hard disk, but not the original files of TC.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

    What you are, indeed, now doing is to copy/move an existing Time Machine backup 'network', a local disk to another drive (aka, your new Time Capsule) network.

    Basically, Time Machine uses a different backup format with readers local vs. network drives. You now have a backup of "network format" on a local disk. Time Machine will not be able to use this backup 'local', as it is, because it is not in a format that is "local." Sorry if that sounds confusing. It was confusing for me just to write it.

    A method that would work would be to clone the backup, but it only works when the two backups will be 'local format' ones.

    Worst case, I recommend that you come to start a new backup and use the one as archive.

  • Missing labels.

    Hello!

    Yesterday I set labels for about 100 bookmarks in different folders. Now records obtained 'moved' in the catalog tree, and its propriety disappeared. Why did this happened? Is this a bug or my fault?

    I have the FF 34 version. The structures of the bookmarks tree had two branches, for example. Hots and BranchB. In both branches, there was same directories, but different bookmarks in them. I'm looking for a mechanism for the management of bookmarks (about 1, 5 k and more) and the labels seemed to be the right solution, if they would work well...

    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi Luke, with 1 single Firefox connected to Firefox Sync, you wouldn't normally see changes. I'm not familiar with EverSync.

    Firefox is designed to do a daily backup of bookmarks when it is idle. I will propose trying to roll back your bookmarks to the last backup, if it's the right date.

    First of all, create a new backup in a secure, for example, your Documents folder location. The following article has the steps to do this:

    Second, export your Favorites to a safe place such as your Documents folder. The reason for this additional step is that you have some new bookmarks that you want to keep, and an export can be added to your Favorites restored without replace it completely.

    Well, now we will see if there is an automatic backup of the other night that contains your work stoppage. Use the Restore feature and if this date is available. If you restore the old file will completely replace your current set of bookmarks.

    If you can successfully restore and need something more recent, you can import the file in HTML format that you exported. This can add a new folder in the bookmarks Menu or in the unsorted bookmarks folder. You can use the drag-and-drop Library bookmarks dialog box you want to move to a new location.

    A little luck?

  • How to print labels in my Thunderbird address book?

    I want to print mailing, as Avery 8164 labels, an addressbook or a mailing list in my Thunderbird addressbook. How can I do?

    Thunderbird has the ability to print an address book or e-mail.

    Thunderbird is not the correct software to do something like printing labels. You must use the MSOffice package or OpenOffice.org (free) see link: https://www.openoffice.org/

    Using OpenOffice.org Basic you can choose to connect to an existing database, and then select the Thunderbird addressbook. After the backup at a suitable location, you can then use OpenOffice.org Writer.
    File > new > labels
    Select the saved database filename.odb.

  • Internal structure / JSON bookmark backup file specification

    My current version of Firefox is 28.0.

    What I already know, is:
    -backup of bookmarks (JSON) files are stored in folder
    "...\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < xxxxx >. default\bookmarkbackups
    in the files like for example bookmarks-2014-04 - 27_770.json
    (or in any other place when you manually save).

    -only Favorites export files are stored in any place under HTML (XML) as a Netscape bookmark on your export demand.

    -the main difference between these two formats is that in the HTML ONLY the BOOKMARKS export file (URL / URI) and no. TAGS are stored.

    -the JSON backup file stores the bookmarks (Uri), tags and complete the structure of the tree. Firefox is therefore able to restore the menu bookmark complete with all its information.

    I do a lot of searching for information in internet. To support a work sophisticated with hundreds or even thousands of boomarks collected tags are absolutely necessary. And I often export bookmarks with tags to other browsers or social bookmark sites. So I have no idea why firefox doesn't support tags in the export files - because a large amount of bookmarks without tags is not easy to manage.

    My idea is to program a tool or an extension that reads a file backup JSON and constructs an HTML export file which also contains tags.

    The problem is that the internal structure of the JSON backup file is quite complex. It contains in fact 'id', 'index', information from 'parent' (fully digital) which allows to reconstruct the original directory structure. Same information on labels is somehow related to bookmarks. Actually the file has a complicated structure of lists and trees. And do not think that there is any identifier, e.g. "tags" which precedes the list labels attached to a bookmark (as in HTML export). In fact I could identify some of my tags in the file, but they are not named for example with 'tag' - I could identify them because I know they are some of my tags defined, but a program does not have this information and needs in General, identification tags in the file. Currently, I don't know any way to do this!

    Is there someone who has a better understanding of the structur of this file or know a specification that could be somewhere? Thans so much in advance...

    Tags are basically this structure if you are looking for backup bookmarks for tags JSON:

    {
     'title': 'Tags',
     'type': 'text/x-moz-place-container',
     'root': 'tagsFolder',
     'children': [
       {
        'title': '<tag title>',
        'id': <tag id>,
        'type': 'text/x-moz-place-container',
        'children': [
          {
           'title': '',
           'id': <id of child>,
           'parent': <parent id>,
           'type': 'text/x-moz-place',
           'uri': 'http://',
           'charset': 'UTF-8'
          },{ <more children> }
         ]
       },{ <more children> }
      ]
    },

    Note that easier to inspect a backup JSON is opening the file in Notepad, and then click the print enough to make Firefox display the file in the format.

  • Apple ID asked when restoring from a backup to iCloud

    Hi all

    First time poster, long drive date...

    I just updated from an iPhone (new) 6-6 s (reconditioned). During the process of "ICloud restore backup" on my device of 6s, he asked a password to *, in addition to my password for iTunes/App Store.

    At first I thought it was a remnant of the previous owner still present on the device, but after Googling * it seems that this account is not isolated to my question / unit. It doesn't seem to be a solution or explanation on the forums, but exactly the same problem. Have I possibly bought a reconditioned unit that was previously Jailbroken? Is anyway of deletion * completely from the device/account?

    I tried to erase content and settings a couple of times and yet one time, through the process of installing but * is always asked. Support or people who may have additional information would be appreciated.

    Whenever people download an itunes - song, ringtone, or app, as the software has an identification label. Tag contains information of apple ID, to which it belongs.

    So when you back up old phone to icloud - icloud server sees this tag and to download over restoring the backup to icloud, due respect for copyright Apple it asks you to enter the password for this software. Usually, this is a song/s downloaded illegal in some country file sharing applications. You now have the choice to enter the password if the password is known to you or skip this step and the apple server will not download this software on your phone. If copyright protection agencies read these forums for people like you who would be an easy catch. Has completely no differences this phone, you restore, you can try to restore your old phone - same thing will happen.

  • Backups taking over 130 GB of 160 GB, getting 'Startup Disk Full' and the computer does not. Help!

    I fight for free space on one of my older iMacs work and I am to the point that we cannot use it because the startup disk is full.  I've recently upgraded to Snow Leopard OSX Lion (10.7.5) so I could update our video editing software, Adobe Premier.

    We run all our video projects on external hard drives, which does not have the boot disk space and are always good on the erasure of files from the Recycle Bin, audio, photo and video so that they are not get bogged down.  About this Mac shows my 160 GB boot drive contains 8.87 GB Audio, 7.69 GB, 6,49 Photos GB movies, 6.58 GB Apps and a huge 129.34 GB of backups.  I have time Machine backed up on an external hard drive and can't seem to find out where these files are to be removed from the startup disk.

    Turn off time Machine and restart does not clear space.  I have even made the Terminal kill command no matter what auto backups, deleted device and old library version in iTunes, etc.  and I have no backup label appears when I bring up the screen of star wars of the time Machine. I went through so many stages and suggestions to get this machine working again.  I understand these backups are supposed to remove themselves automatically, but why are there still first place if I save on the outside?

    PS I'm not very computer savvy, but I know my way around.  Additional suggestions are appreciated - please let me know if I need to provide more information.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 810-445qe: specifications of need on 14.79 GB "Disk 1" labelled "Datadrive1 (e).

    I spent the last few days setting up a brand new HP ENVY Phoenix 810 - 445qe I ordered from HP.com. (Information system down in the case, it may be necessary.)

    I did what all the new owners of the system should do after you set up the system: I did a DVD repair system, and am about to do my first image with Windows 7 (64 bit) backup.

    Of course, when you perform an image backup (which is like making a photocopy of your hard drive to a point in time) you can not store this backup on the same drive you're imaging, for the obvious reason that you can not write to disk at the same time you are Imaging it. If the image backup dialog box gave me three options of storage location:

    (1) Datadrive1 (E)
    (2) WD MyBook external hard drive (G)
    (3) Blu - Ray / DVD / CD drive (F)

    I was curious about the "Datadrive1" because I didn't know that's where! I don't me read something about it, then I went to control panel > system and security > ' Create and format hard disk partitions "(under administrative tools on the system menu and security - or the type of management of the computer in the Start Menu) to take a look at the drives and partitions.

    This computer was said to come with a SATA 3 TB and because disk 0 is close to 3 TB, with a labeled 100 MB partition "EFI System Partition" a 2779,01 GB NTFS partition labeled "OS (C)" and an "HP RECOVERY (D)." 15,28 labeled GB NTFS partition So, there we have the bootloader partition, the partition of operating system Windows 7 and the HP recovery partition.

    But there is also a 'disc 1' labeled 'DATADRIVE1 (E)"formatted as one 14.79 GB NTFS partition. I was surprised to see this data disc, because one of my complaints about HP computers in the past (or at least those available through Best Buy) was that they were always set up with one disc for the operating system and data. (It is always a bad idea to host your data on the same drive that your operating system, because the system disks get use more heavy and are more prone to failure.)

    I recognized my Western Digital My Book 1 TB drive disc 2, entitled ' My Book (G) ' and formatted as a single partition NTFS of GB 931,48. It is the external drive only, I am informed, plugged into one of the USB 3.0 ports.

    So I called the support for questions on disk 1. Where is he? Is what kind of drive? Is what brand? Etc, etc. HP support officer did not know the answer to that! She told me that my system only comes with an internal hard drive and therefore that * must * be an external drive belonging to me. I have an external USB drive connected but it's G drive.

    The only USB devices connected physically are: dongle USB wireless keyboard and mouse from HP; My WD My Book drive; and a HP Photosmart C5180 all-in-One printer with nothing plugged into its card reader, who can't stand not anything on the order of 14.79 GB anyway.

    I would like to know the details about this DATADRIVE1, because) I don't really know what it is and if I should write data there and b) do not know how stable the device is. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

    Are you sure that the Bluetooth module is installed on your laptop computer at 100%?
    I ask because I found some information on this unit in the net and it seems that this laptop has been delivered without Bluetooth.

    All laptops with Bluetooth must have a Bluetooth label at the bottom of the unit.
    Please check whether your device has such tag.

    PS: I think that the software can be installed because the A100 was delivered with a different hardware configuration. But the image was made for all cell phones - with and without the BT module.

Otherwise, I get "Error connecting to the folder" with 707701020 error code. If I hit the button 'Next', however, the label of the host turns red and stays red.
