LabVIEW Analysis multicore and empty matrices in applications Applications Toolkit

As well as several other toolkits, "in 2015 the analysis multi-core and Sparse Matrix Toolkit moved to the LabVIEW tools network."

In previous versions of MASM tool, a runtime engine was necessary to the execution of applications applications used the Toolbox. With the move to network tools it seems not be any support for applications applications.  Builds work very well, but can not run on systems that do not have a LabVIEW development environment and the Toolkit of MASM installed.

Everyone has tried to build a LabVIEW application in 2015 using analysis of Sparse Matrix Toolkit and LabVIEW Multicore?

I contacted my local support staff and applied for online support, but until now I'm stuck on the first level of the AE group, and I really need to talk to a developer of the tool of MASM. Is there a developer reading this forum tool? Could someone at OR who reads this please pass it on to a suitable developer?

Thank you!

Matt

Matt,

We have published the installer of the MASMT runtime on the next page of the LVTN

http://www.NI.com/gate/GB/GB_EVALTLKTLVMULTICORE/us

You can click on "Download of FTP" on the section 'Download NOR LabVIEW Multicore analysis and Sparse Matrix Toolkit Run-Time Engine' to get the Runtime setup. We will know if you encounter any problems. Thank you!

  • limitations of memory of empty matrices

    Hi all

I am using the Toolbox multi-hearts and empty matrices in order to create a n x n matrix with n = 1048576 identity. However, I get a memory error. No appears not the goal of this toolkit to store empty matrices using techniques of storage memory? I would like to prémultiplier a vector of n x 1 by an n x n diagonal matrix. Someone at - it alternative approaches?

You use the plain (= not are rare) matrix tools (just optimized for multi-hearts).

The (rare) special matrix to create is located in the subpalette "Sparse Linear Algebra". It has a different icon.

  • Computers multicore and reading large-format ASCII in LabVIEW.

I have a question on LabVIEW and multicore computers.

Earlier, I used LabVIEW 8.2 and had problems reading large size with labview ASCII.txt format. The 'out of memory' error was a 1.8 GHz with 2 GB RAM computer.

Now go buy a new computer, and again, I need to read the ASCII.txt or EDF format with large size and an updated release of labview. So my question is: ' will be computers multicore-quad (quad 2.0 GHZ with newer processor) surpass duo-multicore (2.7 GHz with a bit older processor) or is it only the amount of RAM I should?

Depends on your file size and data types, but I think so.

I know I'm repeating myself, but again, when it is possible I would avoid to read that much data in memory. Code is not portable on another machine with less RAM.

And if you use the toolkits LabVIEW 64-bit is not an option when even given that most is not supported.

In addition, the code compiled on LV 64-bit won't work on 64 - bit systems.

Hi, I m a bit new in LabVIEW and I'd like to ask a few questions...

-Power supply Wich can recommend you control with LabVIEW? (some chip solution witn 0 - 30v / 0 - 3A DC)

    Elena,

I know raspberry, so no comment on that.

    For the rest:

-Do you want to create tools for developers? If so, we must look in the API of project VI and VI server. If this isn't the case, please compile your application LV as executable and call this one using a batch file.

-LV prefer specific supplies. LV is a programming language. There are several power supply providers (including OR) which provide directly the LV API for their power supplies. So, essentially, the approach is:

    1. choose food that serves your needs.

    2. check if the power supply has a standard interface for programming (such as Ethernet, GPIB, or if the power supply is PXI, is already providing a programming interface!)

    3. check if the LV API (so-called "instrument driver") is available for the device. In the case of a PXI system, get you a device driver (for example NI DCPower).

    4. check if the LV samples are available (for example in the Finder for example LV once you have installed the driver).

  • In Labview 8.6 and MAX, I can change a scale for a voltage read the string in a task once the application has been built and installed.

In Labview 8.6 and MAX, I can change a scale for a voltage read the string in a task once the application has been built and installed on a second PC. Where's the info of the scale which is held?

    Hello

Once you have built your VI and compiled into an executable file and deployed on another machine, it essentially becomes a file read-only, which means that you will not be able to change the balance in this deployed application.

  • MAC - impossible to find "Pictures folder" / Iphoto photo library and open the Iphoto Application at all

    Hi all

I have Apple devices for a few years now, but I still find it difficult to understand the system. I want to put an end to that, so I finally registered.

I try to look at the tutorials and read the forums, but I can't find concrete answers to my situation.

First of all, in my application of Photos of my MacBook, I remove hundreds of photos and videos, then I go to recently deleted screen and I delete them all permanently.

However my disk space is the same before under 'Storage' summary when I check "to about this Mac". I restarted the Mac and waited for days, the space does not release upward.

Then I read in a forum and found the following answer:

Your photos has not deleted because they still exist in iPhoto or Aperture, whatever you use. Photos saves disk space by creating links to the already existing files in iPhoto/Aperture, rather than duplicate. This means that if you want to delete a file, you must make sure that it has deleted all.

If you can live without ever using iPhoto/Aperture once again, go to your Pictures folder and delete iPhoto Library and Aperture Library . In this way, the only copies of your photos will be those photos, and removing free space on your computer.

    The questions are the following:

    (1) after reading this, I decided to look it up in my pictures folder in the Finder to locate the iPhoto library, however it is not there on the left side, after reading the forums, I still cannot locate the iPhoto library anywhere.

    (2) in case I finally find my iPhoto library and delete it, are the images that I see now in the deleted Application Photos?

    (3) another curiosity, when I try to open IPHOTO, the following message appears:

And then after trying the 'search App Store':

I did not need to actually use my iPhoto or App Photos in particular, I do not yet fully understand the difference. I want to just my photos to be stored in ONE place and when I take hours to remove them permanently, get my rear space and do not learn, they still exist elsewhere (iPhoto library).

Also please help me understand what am I supposed to do with the iPhoto application now that gives me these error messages.

    Thank you very much!

The images folder must be manually added to the sidebar.

    Open the Finder preferences:

    • Click anywhere on the empty office to bring the Finder to the front, then go to the Finder menu in the main menu bar, open "Preferences".
Click the tab of the sidebar and add all the items to the sidebar, you want to see.

Now, open the images in the sidebar folder in the Finder.  Is your photo library in iPhoto there?

Then drag it to an external drive to make a backup copy, then delete it and empty the trash.  Accidentally delete the photo library.

    (2) in case I finally find my iPhoto library and delete it, are the images that I see now in the deleted Application Photos?

No, the photos in your library of Photos and the iPhoto library are separate files.  It was created by hard links.

Hard links are new files, which use the same entry in the table. They store the contents in blocks of same on the disks, so the entries are not duplicated, but if you remove one of the linked files, the others will remain. The storage will be released, when the last linked file has been deleted.

  • LabVIEW run engine time included in the application exe

    Hi all

Back in LabVIEW 5, we could create a single LabVIEW application exe file that included the execution engine (all in a single exe file). Now, we must install the runtime engine in its own right + the LabVIEW application exe. I don't think that someone knows a way to create LabVIEW application exe files which include the execution engine in new versions of LabVIEW.

I know that we can install the runtime automatically during the installation of the LabVIEW application.

I know also it makes more sense to have the execution time separate from the application of updates etc, but in some cases its nice just have a program obviously installed on the system - the application of interest.

    Any soloutions neat known?

    -Martin

The time of applications from a single file is long gone. The current LabVIEW runtime engine is a great combination of many files, including DLLs, interface model files user etc. It is not always necessary, but even the most trivial LabVIEW application today takes several tens of these files at startup even. That's how things have changed, and although there are indeed efforts to get apps to run from one place to put them on a USB key for example, LabVIEW is not really a system that lends itself to this. In LabVIEW 7.1 and 8.0, you could include virtually all of the files that make up the runtime system in the same folder as your executable file, no NOR never argued that neither they will probably move to make. With some trial and error, you can start deleting files and see if your app still worked then, but it's a tricky procedure since the application could often start very well, but suddenly encounter display problems if you have opened a subscreen or something with this subject-specific objects.

You can probably try to simply copy all the files from the LabVIEW Runtime folder in your executable file and there is a chance that it still works, but what for? The size of the facility remains basically the same and if you happen to install both applications on the same computer, each contains a copy of all of the runtime system, so there is no gain more but in fact a setback.

The interdependencies of these modules are complicated and some need additional components and registry settings to work properly. By offering a way to configure individually that you want to include, and what would be a total pita for the end user that nobody would really understand what is needed for what and why. Experience would be so especially try it doesn't work once, and never use it again.

I never thought to look into this latest version of LabVIEW. Time to figure it all out is simply average too much punishment for the small gains you get. Installers are the norm these days.

Another issue that followed, is that you need to monitor all the Security Advisory reports NOR and other bugfixes and act on them yourself whenever a component that you have added in your application must be updated. As it is now, the NI Updater can and will update the plant installed according to enforcement system and all is well.

  • Space required on target RT for LabVIEW Control design and Simulation

    Hello

I want to run a DLL file on an RT target using LabVIEW Control design and Simulation, but I'm not sure of the required amount of RAM on the RT-target. My RT-target options are respectively cRIO 9002 and cRIO-9004 with 32 and 64 MB of RAM. Is this a sufficient amount of RAM to run the simulation? ¨¨

    Thanks in advance

This will depend on the size of your dll, the size of the rest of the code, you can create other necessary drivers/modules, memory use when your application runs, etc.

9002 and 9004 have not a lot of RAM on them and the minimum software installation to run a control application Design & Simulation (CD & Sim) will take around 22Mo of it (the majority of RAM available to the 9002). It would be possible to run your application on these two controllers if you keep it small but it will depend on what you want to do.

  • Use autoit in labview to optimize and define the upper window does not?

You start using autoit and most window control commands the excellent work, but I can get WINSETONTOP AND WINSETSTATE functions work.  Everything seems good but keeps showing missing terminal wiring.  I checked to see if I could change my writing, but is not available.  Also tried using SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED and SW_MAXIMIZE properties.  I join the Labview 10 code and, hopefully, a snop shot here.  Can you send me an example of work or provide details as to what may be the problem.

    Thank you!

    Shannon

    I have it.

You were right, necessary to the empty wire CHARAC StrTxt value to get rid of the error of wiring.  Use the node property as shown.  Not sure if that's how it is supposed to be coded, but that's the only thing that has worked so far.

StrTxt is optional for others that I use.

It seems to work very well.

  • How can I change the privileges of sharing and permission for certain applications and software?

I need to change the permissions and settings for sharing applications. I find the custom preferences not defined by myself as well as many of those who are don't give me "read and write" access for them. When I go to "get info" to change these settings, it says I don't have permission to make changes. How can I solve this problem and make sure that it doesn't happen?

Nothing should write an application, so I don't know why there is a problem.

Protection of the integrity of system (SIP) in El Capitan prevents you from changing all the apps.

For preinstalled applications, the system must have a reading and writing and group / everyone should be read-only.

They will also have an access control entry, "group: everyone denies delete" which will appear as usual in the window read the information.

Install apps via drag and drop, you will probably have as owner with Read and Write, but the other group is going to be read-only.
