LabVIEW courses

Hello guys,.

Our company use labview for the development of SCADA systems for our clients and I am the new addition to the team. I learned labview just by practicing, the help tutorials and his colleagues. I can say that I know the basics... Now I'm planning to take courses labview but I'm confused. Should I start core1 and 2? Basically, I want to learn in real time projects, management of databases and reporting methods etc. Can anyone suggest what courses I need to take? is it necessary to first grade before jumping to the advanced level?

waiting for the answer.

Thank you

Looks like you need:

-Core 2 (design template, file I/O etc...)

-Connectivity (databases, server of VI)

-real-time (there are some courses RT and FPGA)

  • Shut down the PC after the release of the labview application.

    Dear friends,

I want to make application in labview so that... when somebody will start PC this labview application should run. and PC shouldn't be able to do any other task instead of running the labview application. and PC should get the stop after the release of the application in labview. Please tell me how to do this.

I think you're able to rebuild on a photo (I can't record to 7.0). If this isn't the case you take a Labview courses such as 'introduction to the introduction to the Labview programmers' and if you see in my first post to you, you will find the description of the shutdown command.

  • can labview call a test module

Problems with a test dll that works in testing, but I get an error when you try to use the Assistant in labview, however I can use the protypye call library function node there.  Problem - the openComserialPort function (char * comPort, ErrStruct & err), how can you difine the parameters for the ErrStruct & an error of the game.

Next Question, because this Dll runs in the bench trial, is their anyway export to work in LabVIEW.

This Dll runs in the test bench, as export their anyway to work in LabVIEW.

Yes it will work in LabVIEW course.

How can you difine the parameters for the ErrStruct & an error of the game.

It is a "pointer to a structure. You must specify the structure of the ErrStruct. Please include the description of this dll to help you better.

  • Record class in binary with TypeDef Enum object

I'm curious to know if this is expected behavior. I'm trying to save a class object to a binary file. In the private class data, I have an enum of the def type. If the type def change once the data has been written to disk, the data back out restores the default value of the enum.

I have worked under the assumption that "Labview automatically creates algorithms to change data from the old format to the new format when you change your private data" (cited directly in the section on storage of objects of the class on the disk in the oriented object programming in labview course). It doesn't seem to be valid in this case. I've attached an example that illustrates. To reproduce:

    1. run "Write Binary.vi" and a binary file will be saved with the value enum Val3.

    2. make run 'read Binary.vi. ' The results should be Val3 as expected.

    3. open "TypeDefEnum.ctl" and remove Val2 from the list of enum.

    4. make sink "read Binary.vi". The result will now be Val1, Val3 not.

    EDIT:

    Should have added, I'm on Windows7, 64-bit, sp1 Labview 2012

It turns out this is a known issue and it has been documented in CAR 48516.

  • Use of Custom Device or lvmodel real-time Module utilities

    Hello

I tried to understand how to use the RT Set processor pool inside of a custom device or lvmodel vi. My idea is to use one of my multiple devices customized to configure CPU pools in the VI Init. I added my custom for the device project PXI chassis, but does not know how I can put these functions in my custom device. Otherwise, I thought I could use a RT project and then to generate a model for VeriStand since VI, but this does not work either. LabVIEW impossible to compile the VI containing the RT module functions.

    My question:

How can I use the utilities of RT in A) a custom device or B) a lvmodel?

    Thank you

    Brent

Assumes that the solution is quite simple. All I had to do was go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\Targets\NI\RT\vi.lib and add the library to the project.

Note If you add an RT target to the project and create screws under the lens of RT and move to the top of the library is automatically added... with a few errors of path of difficulty.

Still familiarizing myself with labview course.

  • 6009 USB + encoder Lika I41 - how to connect?

    Hello world

I'm new to this forum and I'm new to Labview so. I started to learn a few weeks ago and I have to solve a few problems. I am not able to come up with my own, and that is why I ask. I went through very simple LabView courses and now I'm in more serious trouble.

I have first - the NI USB-6009 device and an incremental encoder Lika I41-h-500ZCU46L2. He has 8-cable and is described here: http://www.lika.pl/pliki_do_pobrania/QR%20I28_I40_I41.pdf . And now - I know the basics on the encoders so the description of cables is understandable to me. I don't know how to connect it to the USB-6009? I need to do a VI that will count the pulses and the output of the camera each X impulses. But I want to start by counting pulses.

Any help will be MUCH appreciated.

    P.

Hi you can connect power 5V to encode. Connect to the encoder output to PFI0 encoder for the event USB6009 GND GND line do VI count on PFI0 and USB6009.

  • signal analog aperiodic acquisition

    Dear Sirs,

Excuse my English, this is not my mother tongue, but I can't get help on the forum in my language.

I have LABVIEW courses are 2 but have not taught on DAQmx acquisition. I use LABVIEW2011, a card/CB68LP connector OR PCI-6229 and I want to buy an analog signal that should be considered as non-periodic.

An engine is spindling to nominal 20 Hz with an uncertainty of 20%. 2 ara attached to this engine sensors and send digital signals:

    S1-> 1 rotation, reliable signal (f1 ~ 20 Hz)

S2-> 1024 teeth in 1 revolution (f2 ~ 1024 * 20 Hz), but must consider lack of opportunity to teeth

The analog signal must be acquired for periods of 20 or 40 (counter on S1) on every edges falling from S2 and I want to store each value with the time in microseconds (relatively at the beginning of the acquisition) and the index of the counter on S1. Is it possible to do without switching to LABVIEW RT?

Have managed to acquire an analog signal from a function generator, I am unable to go further.

Any help would be welcome to Setup Wizard DAQmx on these points:

-Dev1/analog ai0 must be triggered by inputs of S1 or S2 PFI, trigger of reference? Advanced settings of the timing?

    -counter County entry/edge on S1?

-line input / digital for the S2?

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Stone

The Basic (from the task) configuration would look like this:

Task 2 and 3 are indeed very similar, using a PFI line for the source, while the other uses the time base of 80 MHz (or some time base internal you prefer).

    Best regards

  • user id password

How to create a user name and a password just like in the case of any website?

Suppose a new user is there, in a first step, it must create its own ID and password that is stored in a file. Then, whenever the next time he tries to open the VI and seized his ID and password must be sought and paired with that stored in the file, and then must be granted access.

And there could be a lot of users.

    Hi Sunny,

"Create a user ID and password, & read the file - Ok."

-How may I suggest anything when you don't tell how your file is organized/formatted?

-Even saying "I use an Excel file" is not enough, because there is a huge difference to use Excel (xls, xlsx) files or plain text (CSE, txt) files that can be read by Excel too.

I can only suggest to use a csv file, read it with ReadSpreadsheetFile, use Search1DArray to find the UserID column for your user name and the index of the column of password for password verification. It's pretty basic, requiring only 5 or 6 functions ready to use LabVIEW. If you are not able to implement on your own I recommend to go through basic LabVIEW courses offered by OR...

  • How do you give each iteration of a loop IF %

Subject: Send a signal to step to a stepper motor driver at regular intervals.   My first try to use a loop was a failure because the data is only passed on a loop when the loop ends.   Instead this application requires the data to be passed on a loop on each iteration.

What happens if changes can be made to a loop for output at each iteration?  Or, if a loop is not suitable for this application which is preferable?

    Howard

A loop looks like a reasonable approach. But you will have to send the signal to each iteration of the loop, then talk to the stepper motor inside the loop on each iteration. You can also think of calendar of loop (how fast you want to send commands to your engine) and stop the loop (for example, the user clicks on a stop button).

Another concept, you can familiarize yourself with are state machines. LabVIEW courses cover these, and there are many messages about the machinery of State here on the forum.

  • Unsigned integer to Boolean 8 Cluster

I developed a basic counter for an FPGA program and fight with the conversion of the unsigned integer from 8 bits to a cluster of 8 LED façade.

The goal is to portray the binary value of the counter with a set of 8 LEDs, but a whole number to a cluster of 8 Boolean values are considered to be incompatible.

    Any suggestions?

Do not use the cluster.  Instead, press ctrl + space and type 'to boolean array.

This should convert your integer in an array of Boolean.  Just be aware that the first item in your array is the LSB.

Also, before you get too in the development of this application, you should take a look at some of the basis for LabVIEW courses.  I'm guessing that you come from a background of basic text.  It would make sense that you define struct bob and tell more later bob = 3?  It is not sensible in LabVIEW either.  That's why your son are broken.  If you want to convert data types, you must do so before connect the two wires together.  Otherwise, you'll have data conflicts.

  • How to explain the error in the executable file?

As everyone knows, there are 3 parts to the cluster of error: status and source code. The State's flag, the code is the error code and the source is where Labview think that the error occurred. Normally, when I'm in the environment labview course I can just right mouse click the error and click "explain the error" and a description and detailed error possible cause rises.

However, when I create an executable I don't know how to explain the error to the user, such as labview.

When an error occurs that I wish I had a popup that says code error, source and EXPLANATION. The code and the only source is so enigmatic sound quite panic inducing the user, whether or not the error is unrecoverable/crash-inducing. Also this would save me having to search the online error code.

How to make the explanation of the error code? There is a vi that I can enter an error code and get the explanation string?

There is probably something simple I forget but I couldn't find the answer in my research. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • How can I control a similar shift of output

    LabVIEW dear gurus

I inherited code which allows an analogue output signal must be generated with a delay.

I tweaked and it seems to work, to my surprise.  I'm not sure of exactly how he does it well.

I'm wiring apfi 0 to 5V reference, my initial expectations were to see an offset 5v.

I want to know is why it works. Anyone know where I can find a guide to the user about this feature.

I use a PXI6289 and trying to generate resolution sub milivolt with a 2.5V signals offset. (in this example, I use larger tensions so I can measure with a multimeter)

    Here is my code

    Thanks in advance

[edit] I think that his may be a questionNot of labview course how change.

    Timmar,

Please use the Forums.  I was able to duplicate your system, and I think I know what the problem is.  When wiring the + 5 V to the PFI line this will hit the Central tension up to 5 V.  Put the 2.5 V in the offset of value actually subracts 2.5 V to 5 V and if it looks like 2.5 v.  If you were to - 2.5 V to happen to 7, 5V.  That being said, in the choice of 2.5 volts to move the tension down actually increase you your stove for the next Beach over big that would be 5 V if you do not get really more resolution.  The best way to get the resolution would be input voltage of 2.5 and then put your value of offset to 0.

    I hope this helps.

  • Old Vi (version 5.1)

    Hello everyone,

We have recently updated our 7 lab computer to version 8.6.1 and apparently two of our [attached] essential subVis that we used in the past, cannot be loaded. The error message indicates that its version 5.1 is too old to be converted into our Labview courses. Someone you will suggest a way around?

    Thanks in advance

If you have a version of LabVIEW between 6 and 8.2, it open it and save it.

Otherwise post your request as a new message in the forum Conversion of Version .
