  Attach to your PC. Launch the desktop software. Go to the Configuration of the Application and clear the check boxes next to what it is that you don't need. Apply the changes. Then close the Desktop software and untether your BB. Then, with power we still BB, remove the battery and wait 5 minutes. Then put the battery back in and wait 15 minutes for it to settle. Then try again the installation you want.

  I'm trying to remove some languages of my Torch 9850. I recently spent the unit from a torch defective 9850 in a replacement as new from Verizon. Entering BDS V 7.1.0.41, loading Applications gets me only for the applications that I installed from Blackberry World, but it does give me no other options as he used to do the last time I needed to change the language, which was in February, two months ago. I checked for software updates and the BDS and the 7 OS is up-to-date (OS7 v7.1.0.755 platform 5.1.0.553). I repair, BDS installed and installed with no luck. Ideas?   If your device is running always on OS 7.0 then try 7.1 any Pack OS carrier that also supports Languages.But of Southeast Asia before opening your computer and uninstall any previous packs if installed OS on it. After that, try this:

  1. download and install on your PC a pack OS with any language by carriers

  • (Make sure you download for the same phone model)

  2. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop from here BlackBerry desktop software software

  Then using software office perform your full backup of your device.

  3. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml (on changing your Pc folders option to show the hidden files/folders ):

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  4. go into C:\Program Files Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For Vista or Windows 7 64-bit, the path will be C: > Program Files x 86 > common files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double-click on Loader.exe.

  Upgrade will continue then after Installation of the new OS restore your BlackBerry Desktop backup

  To use your BB when out of your network home, and if you want to keep your home SIM card inserted, you must have stored with your carrier network for roaming, international data plan if that's where you are roaming to.

  To use your BB on a network of different carrier with their SIM card, you must first have unlocked your BB is carrier home (see above for that).

  Other (applies to both), your BB must be compatible with the carrier data network technology and frequency... If the radio inside your BB does not support the network of the carrier, then nothing will work. If it is compatible, then you should be able to receive voice-level services. But for data level BB services, must still ensure that your specific model BB number is supported by this network of carrier for AutoShip of HRT and maintenance to your BB book... If not, then you will not be able to receive data of BB services.

  It's actually more and less complicated than that. Looking at all the 4 bytes of the version number of the operating system, if the two carriers have the same version, then the package is the same from the functional point of view BB. However, each company tends to "Pack" the package they release with some specific things from carrier, but none of this is really necessary... it's usually just things like icons of teaser for applications that a carrier has agreed to try to push their users. Not important.

  Regarding the language, it is not simply a matter of the carrier you choose. It is rather a question of the OS package you choose, such as governed by this KB:

  OK, with all the foregoing of the road now, the easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do this on MAC):

  (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

  2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.
  • Use the location KB link above as your guide to choose a package that contains the language you want.

  5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

  6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

  • Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC.

  If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue. When installing, be sure to check deeply to all available applications to choose to settle... don't forget to dig deep into each element of multi-level and don't forget that you have selected everything that relates to your language (s) you want.
