Laptop crashes when you run anti-virus Scan

Recently changed my anti-virus. I uninstalled the old and outdated antivirus such as suggested by the guests during the installation of the new anti-virus.

my laptop hangs to this file. c:\windows\system32\drivers\cdfs.sys

I already reported it to the editor of my new anti-virus. Their response was for me to check my video card (I am not a technophile, I don't know how to do this) make sure that I got the last video driver.

What is the problem with my laptop? What should I do?

Thank you

Hello

CDFS.sys is the CD driver so tell them allows you to check the video driver are a mistake. This could be a
false positive, which means that it is incorrectly detected as malware.

Did you run the the site of the manufacturer of your old antivirus removal tool to make sure, that it leaves no leftovers?

First of all, everything started when I was using FAST via a crossover cable. It would stop shortly after starting collect the files. Then it started to happen when I tried to run a scan for viruses using McAfee VirusScan 9. Now, sometimes when I try to encode the video.

I tried to do everything above after the safe boot mode by running msconfig and disabling all startup items and normally. I still have exactly the same result.

I have not installed new hardware or software. I updated my BIOS 1.3. My laptop is plugged when this happens. I have enough disk space. I don't have a clue as to whats happening! Help, please!

    Hi cheekymonkey1882,
seems that your system is infected with a root kit...

get a linux live cd or a victory on cd and save important files!
You must not start from the cd, so no code hard drive will be loaded!

After saving the files (make sure that you can read!, usb device or other)
restore the system to factory settings...

You can try to disinfect the hard drive with the live cd too...
but remember: If a file is infected it will remove the scanner.

    Hello j.d.1882,

    1. you have the latest drivers installed for your graphics card?

I suggest that you update the drivers for the graphics card and check if the computer continues to crash.

In addition, I suggest that you download the dump files to check exactly what may cause the problem.

Athttp://skydrive.live.com using your Live ID and I will check:

    a. Click Start, select run, type '% SystemRoot%\Minidump' (without the quotes) in the search box and press ENTER.

b go to your desktop, right-click on it and create a new folder named "Dump".

    c. copy all the files in memory dump (it looks like Mini092003 - 01.DMP) in Minidump in this folder.

    d. right click on the folder of the image, click on "send to" and click on "compressed file (zipped).

    e. Please download the ZIP file.

  • When you run a full scan on windows 7, it can take up to 9 hours.

I noticed that it takes up to 9 hours to run a full scan in windows 7. Windows Installer seems to be very important when it comes to scanning, as well as others. Is there a way to clean up some of these files, as well as the analysis does not take as long? Or 9 hours an acceptable amount of time to run a scan completes. It seems more 1 million files, is this normal?

    Hello GarryHall,

The analysis of the file system by using a virus scanner can take hours depending on the number of installed software and drivers. If you have many programs installed on your system, it can really take a lot of time. There is nothing bad about it.

I did not have this problem when the DAQ card is in an office with a regular PCI slot. So, I guess that the problem is related to the magmabox.

    Hi Nick,

The problem could very well be linked to the magmabox, but before that can be determined, I need more information about your hardware.  I already know about the PCI-6132, but I don't know anything about your laptop or magmabox cardbus connection.  Can you tell me the manufacturer and the model number of your laptop and the magmabox so I can check their specifications? Thank you.

  • Computer crashes when you run the program

    Hi all

I have a 5 year old computer that directs that a measure based Studio 6.0 program Visual C++ using 6071E PCI data acquisition. I did not modify this program but tried to install Labview 8.6 so that I can run some based Labview programs that I wrote recently. In the process, I had uninstalled Measurement studio accidentally but it then reinstalled back with the data acquisition driver. This program of Visual C++ 5 year, written by someone else, now causes the computer to freeze at random times once it begins to run. I tried everything from audit of spyware, lack of RAM etc but have not been able to fix it.  Could someone help me? I was faced with this for more than 15 days now...

The former C++ program using NITimer (measurement studio provides it?) to do a function call every 25 milliseconds which checks the values of voltage DAQ and update the screen. Change the timer event to be generated every 75 millisecs led to the fall of 100% to 60% CPU usage. Accidents produce is no longer. How this incorrect code, used to work without crashes earlier remains a mystery to me. If someone knows the parameters to the MAX, or a place that makes a program to run in real time priority and therefore cause these programs to run without crashing, let me know.

    Thank you all,
