  • Lenovo y40-70 battery drain

I'm assuming that this thread does not yet receive all responses based on the time that I tried to get assistance from any professional within the community of Lenovo. I'll give it a shot anyway.

Hello, I got my Lenovo y40-70 for a little over a year (so that my warranty is expired - ways don't tell me use my guarantee to solve my problem). After the Windows 10 update, I had the terrible battery life. He would go from 100% to a State of hibernation in time. Previously, I got the battery performance acceptable with maybe about 3-4 hours of use. I tried to update all my drivers and play with the parameters of battery etc. I uninstalled the application of energy Manager and am not prepared to perform a gauge reset due to potential negative effects it could have on the my system. Anyone has an idea on how to solve this problem in addition to roll back to Windows 8.1?

Oh yes, I also tried calling Lenovo support but I was literally on the line for 2 hours while listening to a song. Any help is appreciated. You may end up having a different phone if this problem persists.

  • Carpet mouse and keyboard Lenovo Y40 - 70 do not work

    I have a Lenovo Y40-70 running Windows 8.1 64bits.

A couple of days, I restarted the laptop and it installed updates. After you install the updates, the keyboard and the mouse do not work (I had to use a keyboard external usb and a mouse to open a session and to this forum post). There was no physical trauma on the laptop. It worked fine before I restarted, and after that it didn't. It has been literally sitting on the table all the time.

The keys don't work either outside the operating system. I started using the Novo key and could not select all options because none of the keys work. The Fn + F2 combo that allows you to rotate the display does, however, most likely (I presume) because it is a direct physical connection to the screen.

It could be a coincidental hardware issue.

I think that there is an option in the BIOS you have disable called "BIOS backflashing" or something that allows you to downgrade the BIOS. This option can also prevent you to install the same BIOS version ontop of itself.

  • Lenovo Y40: Must only press the power button two times to turn on

    Hello

A few months ago, I bought my Lenovo Y40 on the Lenovo Web site and recently, to turn on, I have to press the power button twice. When I press that once, the Lenovo logo is displayed on the screen, but after 2 seconds it turns off. On the second attempt, finally the laptop turns on and the windows is started.

In addition, rarely the phone stucks on the lenovo logo screen, is necessary to contain the power to reset.

Someone had some problems like these describe above?

    Thank you.
    Pedro Lopes.

    Hello

I contacted Lenovo's Support and they recommended to perform a full recovery of the system. Apparently, it worked because I did not suffer these problems since I got windows. Probably, there was a problem with the partition that has been responsible for the initialization of the system.

    Thank you, Pedro h. Lopes.

  • Lenovo Y40 graphics drivers?

I currently have the drivers AMD catalyst directly from Lenovo y40 support page, but the problem is that these drivers are quite old. I was wondering what other drivers you guys with radeon m200 series r9 use. I'm looking for the latest drivers that are also stable. My current catalyst control center is getting really old and is not optimized for new titles.

PS Si you have tips to extend the life of the battery on the y40 do not hesitate to let me know.

I thought that new drivers were not compatible, it turns out that I had to install the drivers through the Device Manager, then make them Crimson. Just try to install crimson would result in an error. Everything works fine now, the games work fine.

  • Lenovo Y40-70 battery problem

I had a battery problem (the known: battery says 100% and suddenly falls to 0% and close) and in September, I sent my computer to Lenovo. It takes about 6-7 weeks so that the battery needs to be replaced. My guarantee also had to be extended, but was not. Now, my battery has exactly the same problem. I don't want my battery to replace again: it takes too long and I can't wait that long again. Can someone help me please to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

  • Sometimes, the Lenovo Y40 gets stuck on the Lenovo screen?

The Y40 I bought in July sometimes gets stuck on the Lenovo screen where the laoding circle does not appear. It happens only intermittently, but occurs more often after long use (more than 45 minutes). Technical support already tells me to reset the BIOS and restore windows. Do you know the guys from any thing that can cause this problem? Would it be a HARD drive broken or damaged OS? Thank you!

I've already sent my laptop in for repair. The technical support representative said that it was either a HARD drive or motherboard problem

  • Lenovo Y40 Audio Jack broken

Hello, I recently bought a laptop Y40 (and he received just two days ago). Today was my first try taking audio combo.

However, I quickly discovered to my dismay that the combo was broken. I plugged my headphones that fit loosely and fell out of the plug as soon as I took the pressure off of him. I then tried one variety of other headsets, headphones, etc. Each of them is out, having notably mount enough vaguely.

While I pressed my helmet (to keep them in), I got a notification on the screen that I plug somehting. When I pulled my helmet (they fell), I then had a noification I have disconnected something. So I don't think that it is a software problem.

I've seen previous posts (about the Y50s), asked solutions seem unlikely to help.

All advice would be appreciated - I'm heading offshore to College soon and would like to have the situation under control, before that happens! A bit panicked.

    Thank you!

  • Disable the touchpad on Lenovo Y40 forever

I tried all the things that have been suggested, nothing works. I want to disabe the touchpad forever that I won't ever, ever use it. Just got my laptop Y40 yesterday and it drives me crazy.

    Here is what I tried:

    1. I tried using Fn + F8, absolutely nothing happens.

    2. I tried using F6 which was offered elsewhere.

    3. I tried to manually change the thesettings but there is no setting to disable all.

    4. I tried to install the latest driver and it does not offer anything that said anyone on the posts I've seen.

Here is a screenshot if what I see when I look at the mouse settings.

    Link to photo/image

How can I fix it? The laptop has Windows top 8.1.

The momentum type there is such an option to automatically disable the touchpad if a usb mouse is used. But as you can see in your image, there is none for the synaptic type. Even with the Elan touchpad, there is no condition to disable permanently there.

BTW you only said Y40, Y40 - 80 Fn + F6 user guide is therefore the key combination to toggle the touchpad.

  • Lenovo y40-80 temperature

Hey everyone, I bought a new laptop to y40 - 80 a month ago. So far, I'm pretty happy with it, but I have a few questions about concerns about overheating.

I have done a few games with it (namely Skyrim) and noticed that the fan gets very hard whenever running on the AMD Radeon GPU. The keyboard and the chassis also get very hot after about an hour (on the left side, where I presume the GPU's). The fan is also strong in general, even when opening things like Chrome and Skype for the first time, but it will usually calm down if I do only light web browsing.

I used HW Monitor of CPUID to check out some of the internal temperature in the machine. With only a few (mostly inactive) programs, the CPU is averaged at about 39 C.

During the execution of Skyrim, I noticed that it culminates at 70 C, maybe even more high, although he never exceeded 75 C I can say.

I can't get the HW monitor to get a read on my GPU. In fact, all of the programs I've tried so far do not seem to support playback of temperature on the GPU - he's going or not appear at all, or it will give me C 511, which I know is impossible.

I have downloaded the GPU driver directly from the site Web of Radeon, and I'm pretty confident that it is up-to-date, so I don't know what I can do to be able to get an accurate reading on the GPU temp.

Is this cause for concern, or the y40 - 80 made to withstand these temperatures?

    Thank you.

Did you try and download GPU - z?

Time CPU for the games are fine as long as they are below 90 degrees celsius.

    My CPU times are between

73-79 for Fallout New Vegas (evolving) - 79 max

    Dragon Age Inquisition - max 85 80-85

75-80 for the shadow of Mordor

for most other games of the CPU remains within the range of 70 to 75. Inquisition is the most intensive graphics of that game I play.

Time GPU is generally between 75-85 depending on the game.

My ambient time are higher at this time (28-30), resulting in these times.

In short, your times are quite normal.

  • performance y40 Lenovo problem

I bought lenovo y40 ago 30/11/2014... I am not happy with that because his slow running on day 1... I tried many way to solve it but it doesn, t work I need few Suggetions as soon as possible, that I have to solve this problem.

You can try to reset the laptop which will erase all of your personal files (make a backup) and restore the system to its original configuration.

    Shut down the laptop computer

Press the NOVO button next to the power button

Follow the instructions to reset to the factory settings.

Once the process is complete, recheck the system. If it is still slow, then call Lenovo in your country and request a RMA number, maybe your drive HARD or SSD or RAM is not good and is a failure.

    Send it for repair.

  • Lenovo Y 40 - battery doesnot - shows 100%, but dies when disconnected

    Hi all

It seems that a lot of people have this problem as I browse this forum.

My Lenovo y40 is less than one year, so still on warranty. Recently (May 19) started having battery problems. It displays 100% charged, when it is plugged. But as soon as I unplug the charger, the battery empties quickly or turns off immediately.

Other times, the battery is to remain in office and will stay on for a few hours. It is very intermittent, it seems that the laptop has trouble reading the current battery level.

I have tried everything recommended on this forum, resettled pilots, reset the gauge from the battery through the Manager energy. What gives? The laptop is too new to have a defective battery and it was working perfectly until a few days ago.

Anyone else having this problem, I really need to use the warranty already? Argh...
