The ability to rotate the screen image is a characteristic of your video

  • My laptop display driver hangs when I turn on my Skype cam

Especially when I make a call or someone calls me on Skype, my screen goes black for a few seconds and my Skype freezes. In addition, there are times when my laptop crashes and displays a blue screen. I use the 7.24.0.104 version. I've attached my DxDiag file for any consultation about my problem. Hope you guys can help me with my dilemma. Thank you

Unfortunately, the new implementation of this forum won't let me read your dxdiag.

However, updated of your video driver (and all other offcours), will be more likely to remedy the problem, especially if you have installed Windows 10 as a place in upgrade (you can not update unfortunately) and have kept your settings.

In this case you will need to Windows 10 drivers, if they are available from the manufacturer of your machine, if it is not the generic device drivers will work in most cases.

Your Skype client is also outdated: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full

    Hi @Dentist_9251,

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that when to play your screen will become suddenly blue and your computer restarts.   Continually, you get a message that the display driver stopped responding and was recovered.

Did you run HP Support Assistant to facilitate updates of HP?

You did all your Windows updates?

Here is a link to Open the Windows Update troubleshooting tool that can help to find additional drivers.   Although it lists Windows 7 it does not work in Windows 10.

Once launched, it should show a screen like this.

Use the second "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" option, this should lead to an update of strength of the 'Windows updates' which cannot be automatically applied c ELA could fix some of these issues.

Have you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool?

  • Laptop display LCD HP G72

I have a HP G72 laptop.  The display has become cluttered with contrast colored pixels.  White background becomes fine turquoise blue lines.  When you type in Word or Excel, the display is not clean.  When connecting to an external monitor there is a clear display of colors.  I reinstalled the latest version of BIOS and a video driver with no result.  Do I need to buy a new LCD?

If I need a replacement, should what number I?  Reference number given by the HP Support is not as much as my screen.  HP support says B173RW01 while the part number on the back of the actual display is NTA 173KT01 and the SAMSUNG brand name.

    Yes, it's probably about Billboard.

  • Laptop display problem.

I have a Dell laptop running Windows XP.  This morning our cat sitting on the keyboard (the computer was on and hot, I guess).  When I he hunted, display has gone from landscape orientation portrait.  How do I go back?

    Hi Bob,

The trick is to press the CTRL and ALT keys and then use part or all of the arrows (do not just once, keep pushing different or even several times) until it is as you wish. Normally, the only one to use is the arrow upwards, but I found it does not always work and you may need to waste his time. Don't forget to press the keys until the screen (not just click and instantly let go, or he can't have time to recognize the command).

    Good luck!

  • 2000 HP laptop display problem

I used this laptop for a couple of years without any problems.  Today when I turned it on, more than half of the screen was covered with a strange pattern of the intersection of the lines and the tasks.  It is a multiboot system, and the odd model covers the whole of the left side of the desktop on all operating systems, as well as the black splash screen and the configuration of the BIOS screen.  When I first started, under the overlay, I could barely do a message on a weak battery that will need to be replaced.  I don't know if these problems are related or not, but they both started at the same time.  Anyone know what could be the cause of the problem of display or how it can be fixed?  Apart from this, the computer always seems to work fine, but I need to reduce my window down, because I can use only less than half of the screen.  Thanks for all the ideas.

Let me put it this way...
Fact the broken screen your describing resemble one of the images on a google search?
    https://www.Google.com/search?q=broken+laptop+screen&BIW=1163&BiH=548&TBM=isch&TBO=u&source=Univ&SA=X&EI=qWpLVPuoGJL_yQTRxYLQBw&SQI=2&ved=0CCoQsAQ

If so, this is caused from physical damage. It could be that something heavy was on it, but usually something he hit.
A loose cable does not cause it. It's in an office or your home? Something is wrong of course.

If you do it yourself, you're looking at anywhere from USD (approximately) according to part $50 à 75.

  • Display upside down. Whenever I'm correct in my graphics card frame. But when I reboot, the display becomes upside.

When I turn on my computer, the screen will go up properly, then momentarily black out and descended on again once backwards.  I can access my graphics card in "Screen" on the control panel and turn it to the correct position. But every time that I reboot the display will again be upside.  I suspect a virus. I ran my anti-virus. There are no infected files.

Somehow, I think that the technical support engineers Microsoft if you uninstall your drivers, when you restart, XP will somehow magically understand what you need and install it for you.  It's just not the way it works is this.  If they were really going to try their own advice, they know how things work (or not).

The free MBAM should clean not just a "small part" - you need to clean anything it finds and at least we found things.  You can run again and make sure that it is clean.

SAS will probably find just a bunch of tracking cookies, but sometimes finds things MBAM will miss.  Together, they are a good combo.

Your stuff looks right to me and I would say you don't have a XP problem - you have a NVIDIA problem.

One thing you can do (if you do not already have is to go to the page of GeForce, click drivers and let it auto-detect your GPU and see if it has something new for you.

If your stuff was working fine before, what do you think might have changed since the last time it worked correctly?  MS updates came out on 11/08/2011 but if you got your video drivers from NVIDIA, you would think they would be fine.

If after that you still have a problem, they have a very active community forum where I bet that if you post your msinfo32 info (as you did here) and tell them the problem, someone out there will know what to do about this, because I don't really know...
