Laptop for Photoshop and Lightroom cc.

I am looking to buy a new laptop or used for photo editing.  Lots of info on buying the latest laptop with i7 maxed out and 16 GB of ram and 2 GB of video cards. Is this really necessary?  I'm looking for a computer 15 "laptop to travel with and editing photos. Not as a professional.  Any info on what is really necessary and even brands or models would be great. I shoot with a Nikon Dx format in flood.  I looked at msi, Rog and especially between the two. Thanks for any info.

Config minimum, always achievable: i5, 8 GB, Intel graphics card, SSD drive.

My laptop is an ASUS (i7, Nvidia GTX 850 m, 16 GB, 1.5 TB of disk) 17 ". I add an SSD as drive system and use a connected external USB3 SSD as workdisk. The 17 "display is great engough, but the laptop is heavy (sic). Works fine when I go out.
