  Thank you for taking the time to post.  You're saying that it sounds as if your hard drive is not detected.  You will need to contact the manufacturer of your PC to help with the possible hardware failure and to get copies of the system restore disk.  There is not a way to install windows without a CD or a recovery partition on your hard drive (which it appears right now that your laptop does not see).   If you have a retail license, you can upgrade your card motherboard and CPU

  I had this same problem. That's what I did which appeared to fix (not sure if that fix or if it sets just itself). I ran the mcupdate.exe file located in the C:\windows\ehome\ directory (or some windows player is on). Yet once again, I'm not sure if this corrects the problem, or if it randomly determines.
