Laptop HP 15-d048se: recovery of Windows 10

I bought my laptop with a pre-installed operating system windows 8. I have a drive called "recovery" and I think it is to retrieve the windows where it was corrupted. Now I need to upgrade to windows 10 and I need to know if this recovery disk files will be upgraded to 10 windows so that I can recover windows 10 back in case it is corrupted.

Lol this is not correct.

You will always have the licence fees for Windows 8 to be used on the original laptop. You have purchased the license when you bought the laptop with Windows 8 pre-installed. You cannot transfer the license to another computer, another person or the use even if you have a facility active Windows 10 always on the laptop.

This means that if you restore or recover your laptop for Windows 8, it will activate right after that you connect.

It's a good thing.

Mr President, I want to improve my windows to windows 10. so for that I want to keep my windows genuine 8.1 in a cd, so that in the future if I want to I can degrade after a few months. Help, please.

    ANUP Pandit

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your message want to switch to Win10 not so downgrade to Win8.1 in the future and wanted to help.

Since you want to be able to restore your PC to its current operating state, you need to consider is a third party called Macrium Reflect application.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.  In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

A CD is much too small to contain WIN8.1, in fact, since you really want to save your installation, even a DVD is far too small.  While you CAN make an image for DVD backup, I do not recommend this because (1) there are a bunch of them and really a LOT of time, (2) IF the DVDs become scratched, makes the whole unusable.  Instead, use an external drive, or if you cannot afford this, a large (32 GB or more) USB key.

    Good luck

I have two Acer Aspire laptops.  They are totally frozen because of the virus.
I lost the recovery of Windows Vista Ultimate Edition disc, where to get a replacement.
I have to rebuild my laptop.

    Hello

No - what are the two Acers come with a recovery disk?

If this is not the case, one of them would have a recovery partion, which specifically is to reinstall the operating system on it.

With an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process.

All data are lost when you do the above.

And for the lost disc, contact Acer and ask them to send you recovery disks.

They do that for a small fee:

    http://us-store.Acer.com/RCD/

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

  • Model number:-n010TX: recovery of windows media 8

    Mr President.

I had my HP laptop pavilion in November 2013. It came with 8 pre-installed windows. I upgraded Windows 8.1 by March, 2014 and it worked fine for a few weeks, after which, the laptop has detected a hardware failure. I had a HP technician install a pirated windows 8 on my pc and it also gave me a series of DVDs of recovery for windows 8 to be used on a HP or compaq PC.

It is a set of 3 DVDs 'system recovery' and 1 DVD "valorization of the pilot. The problem starts when I insert the first DVD of system recovery. He didn't autolay not. I checked with control panel and made sure that the "Use AutoPlay for all media and devices" option is checked. But autopsies shows two options: -.

1 open the folder to view the files, and

    2. don't do anything.

Now, on the DVD it says: "insert the disk and follow the instructions on the screen. But there is no on-screen instructions.

I opened the folder and it contains a lot of files with names that I don't understand. Please let me know how I can get the DVD to play automatically.

    Thank you

  • The new use of recovery of Windows XP with my q Satellite Pro P300-19?

I just bought a Satellite Pro P300-19 q with Vista pre-installed. I want to use Windows XP Professional instead and understand that I must use the DVD titled "Product development - Microsoft Windows XP Professional" supplied with the machine. To do this, however, the provided information sheet is not very useful when he says only: «you will have to load this...» »

My question is: How do I do it from running the disc in the DVD player, just reveals several files which none will get me nowhere?

    Any help would be welcome.

The recovery of Windows XP product disc contains an image of a Windows XP installation ready with all the drivers and tools.

Before installing Windows XP, you should burn the Vista recovery disk because if you want to restore Windows Vista you will need this disc. So, you can restore the computer back to wherever it was when you originally received.
So far as the recovery image (Vista) is only stored on the HARD drive and so you can burn it to a DVD:
Click on the Toshiba recovery disc creator and insert a blank DVD. Then follow the instructions on the screen. The recovery disk will be created.
You are now able to boot from this DVD and install Vista with all the drivers and tools (factory settings).

When you reinstall Windows with a recovery disk, the HARD disk will be reformatted and all data will be lost. This means that as other partitions so backup your data first.

If you are using Vista it s also able to restore the factory since the HARD drive settings. Therefore, the files are stored in the folder HDDRecovery.
So, if you want to put your mobile PC, press F8. Then you can see the menu and there advanced boot options, select repair your computer.
Follow the instructions on the screen and the laptop will also reinstall.
But don't forget, this (HARD disk recovery) feature is only available with Vista, not XP.

So if you understand this and burned the Vista recovery disk, you can start to install Windows XP.
Boot from the XP Recovery disk and follow the instructions on the screen. The installation of Windows XP does not have a lot of time and this procedure is similar to Vista. After installation you also have an installation with all drivers and Toshiba tools but with Windows XP of course.
This is the content of the Windows XP Recovery disk.

  • HP Pavillion DV6: Recovery of Windows 7

    Hello

I have a laptop HP Pavilion DV6 comes with windows 7 home Premium a few months ago, I upgraded to windows 10. I would go back on windows 7. Is this possible?

I tried the HP Recovery Manager, but I get a message saying that rebecca.exe is not approved. Tried to use the tool windows 7 installation support, but since the product key for windows 7 came with the laptop, I get an error before you download media.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

It depends on if the Recovery partition is still on the hard drive.  When you look on the screen 'This PC' does show another named D: Recovery drive?  If it is still in place, you can start recovery - which will reinstall Windows 7 as to how it was when new - and every thing will be back.  Normally, you can start Recovery Manager by pressing F11 immediately by pressing the Start button.  It would be better if you have saved important data to separate media before doing so.

Another way would be to use the set of diskettes of recovery that you should have when the PC was new.

  • HP Pavilion G6 series: reset my laptop HP Pavilion G series after Windows 10 free upgrade...

I got the upgrade for the free update to Windows 10 on my laptop and restarting the first time I noticed that all the icons and background were gone, and the only thing on the black screen was my Advanced System Care Pro Performance Monitor that is always pinned on the desk by chance, since it is the only way to restart my computer now. I have to restart my laptop 3 times until all the icons appear on the screen, then I have about 5-10 seconds quickly hitting the new button start Windows and then the settings button and quickly reached the Firefox Logo that works also fortunately still. As soon as I get these two things open the icons and background stay for a little longer (maybe 20-30 seconds) then the back ground and icons and apps start flashing in and out in what I guessed only is two operating systems compete because I can open only some things in the settings menu as (which is grayed out) Device Manager and when you click top made appear an error which reads on a missing element, well that, if the icons are still flashing the Device Manager will turn black and I am able to click on it, but I have to me it just right when his blinker on black that I have to do in 20 seconds. Also, when I try to click on the Reset button this PC I can only click on it when the icons are flashing in this second 20-30 window so I have to get there quickly.  Firefox works normally at least. I posted my question and the advice of Microsoft Community, but nobody has yet tried to answer yet. I want to know if I reset the laptop will it reset with a Windows own 10? Will be the list of all the HP and almost all applications on the things in the computer to prevent it from working because my grandmother recently passed away and left me his laptop and there not all disks with him so I can't put all the apps back on if I re. I also have a runtime error when I unplug the power cord from the laptop.  I tried different things like Legacy, new AMD Radeon drivers driver download, all the drivers are up to date, start in safe mode, from modes of different startup with only startup apps, tried to manually disable applications from devices one by one, Manager and nothing has worked or changed what is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may need to read this.

    http://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3az5z1/how_to_stop_windows_10_automatically_updating/

They say the automatic update of windows is to play with the display drivers (make them back off?) and the solution is to disable the auto update for this device driver using the method they provide and install the latest driver for windows 10 of the manufacturer.

Insofar the restetting your pc - I have another machine and normally I will try "Refresh" through the RECOVERY WIZARD HP first before resetting and lose all my documents - if you can access the settings in windows 10 - go to 'update & security' and select «recovery' and then 'get started' below «return to windows xxxx»

My Dell laptop I have from 10th July indicates the following:

    Start the reboot system (recommended)

    Start Windows normally

    Hello mtb123,

    1. have you tried the steps suggested by Srinivas R in the previous post to make a startup on your computer repair using the Windows installation disc?

    2. you remember what changes you made to the computer before you start this error?

I suggest that you access the system recovery options using a Windows Vista installation disc and do a startup repair and if this fails, you can do a restore of the system from the Windows recovery environment.

You can see the previous post of Srinivas R to verify the information on the system restore.

Original title: I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit).  Unable to get a backup to a flash drive.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer

you will need to contact HP about why this isn't allowing you to make them
