Laptop HP 15: Touchpad

I disable my touchpad on HP laptop 15 with windows 10 it works but then when I turn my computer off voltage and turn that back on the touchpad is enabled and I have to go and turn it off again.  I go through this every day.  Can not turn off the touchpad once and for all?

The Synaptic Touchpad resets each time that the computer restarts on Windows 10 for some reason any. What worked for me was to change a registry key. See the solution here:

  • Laptop keyboard and touchpad problem.

I'm having a problem with my laptop. The touchpad won't move the cursor whenever I use the keyboard, but after a second or two, he thaws. It's getting really annoying and I wonder if theres a way I can fix it.

    Hey @BGMiller56,.

So I think you are trying to play a game. If this is the case, it is best to connect a mouse to play.

In addition, in the document, it shows you how to change settings by clicking Settings icon to adjust the actions button on the Touchpad.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Laptop Pavilion G7: Touchpad

Because Windows 10 has been installed (24/12/15), the lock on the touchpad light won't come to disable the touchpad. I always use the wireless mouse, no touchpad. I would like instructions to stay simple (old lady lol).

Also noticed mention in my quest to solve this, something about the execution of an update of the Windows driver. Belongs to this problem? How do I not screw it anything upwards?

And BTW, after the installation of '10' speakers did not work; my stepson set (he ran the installation) but I didn't know what he was doing.

    Thank you!

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

Thanks for your reply. I don't feel that it is useful to take back to 8.1 for that one glitch. I just ran analysis updates. Always light did not come so I disabled the touchpad manually in the properties of the mouse. Just don't forget to mention to anyone that would work on my laptop. I sometimes leads him to the local electronics Center for renewal antivirus. (they are free to Walk-ins without complication). Who knows? Maybe they know the fix. I wonder, though, if Microsoft is aware that 10 disables the ability to toggle the touchpad on some hardware.

  • HP laptop Pavilion 13: Touchpad does not?

My touchpad does not work. I don't know if it has been disabled, or if it's broken. Help please!

    Hello

Try the following - plug the mouse usb cable when it is required.

Hold down the Windows key and press R

In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

In the Device Manager window, expand mice and other pointing devices.

Right click on the Synaptics device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

    When finished, stop the laptop.

Unplug everything device, including any usb mouse.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Let windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking the function of the touchpad.

  • I have a Toshiba laptop and my touchpad does not work any idea on how to fix

touchpad does not work on my laptop, it is a toshiba...

Some have keys that turns off the pad and many Toshiba have card keys which have a control.

Control Panel - mouse - Touchpad is here

Panel of configuration-device - mouse and pointing devices Manager - double click on info pilot.

If no joy go to Toshiba Support and download the latest drivers for your version of Windows and 32 or 64-bit.

Go here and put in your info model and search for the drivers for your system

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - click on - RUN AS ADMIN

It's my generic how updates of appropriate driver: you mainly want to update or reinstall the touchpad drivers
and ALSO to get the Toshiba value added Package for your version IF it is there.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: Windows 10 touchpad settings back after reboot

I'm putting my touchpad (synaptics?) to turn off the pinchzoom.  I uncheck the boxes and it suits him, but whenever I restart it ticks the boxes again.

"How will I know when there is a driver compatible fully win10?

I hope that soon, I too just want to how customization has been. The PS/2 you have chosen is the basic tablet that Win10 installs before it seeks software Lim so he won't have any options of Synaptics

    .

Windows Update automatically installs new versions of Synaptics. If, one day, you notice a change in the behavior of touchpad, now you know where to find alternative on your device driver versions, if you are not satisfied. When you repeat the steps above I posted, you can see the dates of the alternatives and choose one to test, or if you are happy with current, choose "driver rollback", recognize the warning that it is outdated and continue.

Please mark the subject as "Solved" If you are satisfied with the answer. Thank you.

My HP Windows 10 laptop and was demoted to Windows 7.   My touchpad is too delicate and constantly, I find that it moves around the screen as I type.  I thought that I would just turn it off.  She appears on the material like a PS2 Mouse and it doesn't have an off button.  I just deleted the installer but it constantly re-loads on a re-start.  I love my HP laptop, but the touchpad drives me crazy, please help me.

    Hello:

Use the W10 support page for your laptop touchpad driver.

It also has the drivers for W8.1 and W7.

It would be the only suggestion I can offer.

  • Touchpad scroll on a laptop

Touchpad of my laptop won't let me use the right side to scroll more in all programs. I wonder how to recover this ability. I have a Toshiba Windows Vista laptop.

Many laptops have the touchpad app in the system tray.  If it is there, see if you have a touchpad tab under "Control Panel |" Mouse "and there may be a touchpad in the Control Panel app itself.

  • HP laptop touchpad not working not

My laptop computer HP touchpad stopped working after a clean install of windows 7. The LED for white touch pad permanently but fires it does not work completely.

The laptop model is HP Pavilion dv5.

The original operating system was windows Vista.

It seems that you install some or all drivers for your laptop computer's hardware once you did a clean installation of Windows 7.

    Go to http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

If you are able to do with the laptop in question, click the button "identify now.

If, as I suspect, you are not able to access Internet with this laptop, enter your model number.  You need to be more specific than the dv5 Pavilion.  There should be another series of numbers and letters after dv5.  For example, if you have a HP Pavilion dv5-1235dx notebook, you'd end up this page-->

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv5-1200-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/3744212/model/3860524#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930C7

The driver for your tablet would be located under "Driver - keyboard, mouse and input devices."  For the above example, this is the "Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad driver."

You need to install most of the other drivers as well.  If there is a category with multiple choices, such as the driver for the wireless network adapter, you will need to determine the type of device you have by looking in Device Manager.

  • Satellite C50 - B - how to disable the touchpad zoom feature?

Is there a way I can disable the zoom on my touchpad function.
It is very annoying when it changes continuously zoom.

Go to control panel-> mouse control
Here, you should check the last tab.

The name of this last tab depends on the driver for the touchpad that is installed on your laptop.
There are two possibilities: either MOMENTUM or Synaptics driver

In the case where your laptop supports the touchpad DRIVE, go to the tab MOMENTUM.
Now you will see new window ELAN Smart Pad with 3 tabs: a finger, finger Multi, Additional
Go to the multi-doigt tab and disable the option called zoom.

  • Satellite L750 - how scrolling with the touchpad?

I have a Satellite L750 (my first laptop and first touchpad) running Windows 7. I put the mouse scrolling to 1 line at a time, but every time I place the pointer on the right scroll bar arrow down (and press the left button or press on) the screen pops so that the scroll bar is at the bottom. I want the screen to "inch" down slowly as if I was using a mouse wheel.

Yes, I know that the answer is probably very simple, so those people who are itching to answer don't forget I'm a 'newbie' to touchpad.

    Concerning

    Hey,.

You can scroll with the touchpad on the right side of it. Just move your finger upward or down on the right side of the touchpad and you can scroll with this gesture. It of not complicated and very easy.
In addition, these basic operations are described in the user manual and I recommend reading. ;)

If you are not familiar with the touch pad, you can also connect an external USB mouse (mouse even as on a desktop computer). These external mice are cheap and you don't need a driver for it. Just connect it to a USB port and it of ready to use :)
