• Switch off latitude E5500 wireless?

  Hi all

  I used the wireless internal (1397 mini-map) for a couple of years now... All of a sudden the WIFI light is not on above my keyboard... Win 7 reported no problem with the card and the driver seems to be ok... Others have told me to try the FN + F2 to re - turn on the wireless switch, but this combo doesn't change anything... In fact, on my laptop, this combo determines if the AC adapter charges the battery or not so that hip.

  I started my dualboot XP real fast... ON this OS, the wireless is controlled by the application of dell and the software dell says that the wireless radio switch is off? Everything is enabled in the BIOS under the wireless section... This must be a different key combination to toggle the my wireless phone?

  I plugged my dongle wireless from another machine and everything works beautifully...

  Any ideas?

  Only, I've solved my problem... I can't believe that I didn't know where this switch was and what it does... As soon as I posted, I found a site that has good information for this laptop... The FN key on the E5500 has nothing to with the wireless implementation power. I literally burned through 50 sites with everyone saying: 'just hold down the FN key and press F2 '... I don't know why everyone has the wrong info on this laptop.

  There is a toggle switch on the front of the laptop (just below the plane of the keyboard)... It's where your left wrist sits when you type on the keyboard... It has a symbol to switch wireless access point... It looks like this:

  In this diagram, the number 7 is exactly where the toggle switch must turn wireless radio switch. This message was perhaps a bit exaggerated, but I was about to tear my hair out trying to understand why my darn phone was not working. I hope this help anyone who reads.

  I want to replace the broadcom WiFi (b/g/n) with a combo (WiFi / bluetooth) card in my HP pavilion laptop dv7-6b32us;  preferably with one that supports the frequencies a/g/n.

  I know I can install only cards that are supported in the bios. Can someone tell me please to the list of the WiFi cards supported by the bios of my laptop?

  Support without wireless/bluetooth combo cards with HP part numbers are in Chapter 3, page 29.

  Pleaee be careful since you have an Intel processor, look at the list of cards for all models or just models of Intel.

  I can tell you that there is no double card band supported. The 6230 listed Intel is incorrect. It's the wrong part number and if you order this part, you get either an intel or 1000 ralink card. Person on this forum or at HP knows that the correct reference number unfortunately.

  You can install one of the supported cards and it must have the part number HP on it or it won't work.

  I have a problem with the PA3352E - 2 CD 2 CD-RW/DVD COMBO USB 2.0. A colleague is owner of this car and use it on a NB DellC610 with Windows XP on it. The problem is that the drive does not work with this type of nb (with a NB from Fujitsu-Siemens newest there no problems); There is always an error message about "surge."   AFAIK this external must have a power adapter. You use it too? I'm not 100% sure, but there are difference how much power Gets the USB slot. Toshiba notebooks is around 500 my and some producers another laptops send between 300 and 500 my. The external device requires approximately 700 my.

• Satellite P20-203 combo drive not working properly

  the dvd/cd combo (mast * a uj-811) doesn't recognize any disc. I/o device error. After only a few out of the discs it starts to work without problem until I turn off the laptop. Should I replace it? which is the best choice? do you think that the panasonic 840 correct?

  It may be that the disc is broken but you can try to update the firmware. Panasonic is the holding company of the Mat * a, then go to the panasonic and look for a firmware update!

  About changing discs I have no experience, but for as long as I know that only the same drve fit or another tesd readers! With others, you may have problems!

  Anyway, a few weeks ago I started having problems with
  My USB ports in the sense that they all started to die one by one: first

  I have some problems with my carpet * a reader of DVD/CD-RW COMBO in Satellite L30-114. It will not simply close easily, I have to use a lot of strength to shut up and try several times before I do it.

  Why this readers must be bad? Perhaps you n your car on the right t-handle way and now you have the problem. I put t know about the position for which you are a pressure when you want to close, but do it enough in the middle. On this way the pressure is evenly distributed on both sides.

  If the drive must be exchanged this doesn t mean you have to go there personally. I'm sure that you can send your laptop to them as in all other countries.

  Sorry, but the problem with DVD play is not understandable for me. You can watch original DVD movies or not? Maybe a little better description of the problem will help you.

  Why do you ask the firmware? I put t think that the firmware of the player has something to do with the compatibility of the player.
  The fact is that not every drive will run on the laptop because c - salt sensitive and master/slave settings.

  On the drives for desktop PC, you can change these settings by changing the jumper but on the portable readers it of not possible to change the settings.

  In my manual, I found the player that is compatible for my laptop. Maybe it s also listed in the user manual you.
  If this isn't the case, then contact the Toshiba service partner in your country to control the player compatible and taken in charge. Guys you can give an exactly the info about the supported drive.

  I have two Portege 2010 with two different Slimline Combo drive for Cardbus cable - no two computers are able to start readers Slimline Combo. Two computers with each different drive have been works perfectly in early September, but none now.

  I think you should go to the Device Manager and remove the * Texas Instruments PCI controller card bus * and * Toshiba ToPIC100 CardBus controller *.
