Laptop HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO: add additional SSD for HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

Hello.

I have my laptop new HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) yesterday itself. He already have writer BRD. Can I replace my BRD burner with extra HD SSD? If yes what is the procedure for that?

You can, but you shouldn't. The port for the optical drive is a SATA-I have the interface. Slower than the port for HDD/SSD. So if you want to just add storage put a regular mechanical training in an optical drive adapter. Also any drive in the optical drive adapter will not be bootable. This will help you:

    Hello

If you definetely can't get HP recovery media, here are a few suggestions.

    1. if you live in the United States, try the 3rd dealer part on the following link.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/default.aspx

2 as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrade from 8.1, you can simply perform a new installation of windows 10 as stated in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO laptop: HP ENVY 17 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) Bios Update Question

My Hp Support Assistant wants me to update my bios...

I have two questions regarding this.

    1. the software to Flash the bios is not compatiable with windows 10.  It will be safe to run anyway? (Yes, I have installed a free update to windows 10)

2 sp71055.exe f42.ap1 (corresponds to the file, it is recommended to run to my i7 from intel, patch notes (always never enough information) provide that it restores or that it provides the original bios.)

    My bios version connected is

    BIOS version / date f/34. 12-19-2014

On a previous occasion, I thought I already flashed the bios and I was wondering if I need to restore to the original version, or it turns out is a bit 'off '.

The link you have provided updated the bios with no ill affects (for now!) Thank you for your help

  • HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC G0T55AV: HP ENVY 15 t-k000 CTO Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

One of my biggest complaints about this laptop is that pressing a key of function (F1-F12) by itself accomplishes what is the picture on it. For example, if I wanted to use a function key to do something like the open dialog box the "save under" in Microsoft Office programs, I have to press the "fn" and "F12" keys at the same time, instead of just "F12". Although I know there are ways around this (adding commands to the toolbar "quick access", pressing "ctrl" + "s", etc.), it would be nice if I could just press "F12". I have excellent use of my left hand, my right hand doesn't work too well, so using both hands can be tricky. Is it possible to reprogram the 'F1' through 'F12' keys?

    Hello

You can change the default behavior as follows.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the Bios ( f10 ) option, and then change the figure in the document at the following link.

I am wanting to change my card factory of only 2.4 ghz dual band or an AC wireless card wireless. I am not sure if my pc is whitelist or not. I really hate the slow speed of 2.4 ghz. Can someone help me please?

There has never been a reliable list of 100% of what is beyond the white list but depending on your hardware and the copyright on the 2014 maintenance manual, you came to the white list. You still have the big problem, it's that your mobile PC series often has only a single Wi - fi antenna. If so, it is virtually impossible to upgrade to a dual-band card. The only way to know for sure if you have a single antenna is to open it.

  • HP ENVY 17-j112tx Leap Motion: Overclocking my HP ENVY 17-j112tx Leap Motion SE Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

    Hey all,.

My laptop that I liked for the time I got it, so a pretty good personal camera all-round.

However as I just realized, the processor isn't quite cut. For these unfimilair with this product, it's Intel Core i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20 GHz. Which is decent except the Gigahertz.

And as I came to learn, the BIOS Overclocking locked so my question to you is if I can overclock my processor in anyway eventually (even with a cost?). I'd give perfer to keep this laptop as it has a 16gbs of ram and a decent graphics card!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

My loan last year machine was a HP ENVY 17 t-j100 Leap Motion SE Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) (t for machine CTO). My current loan machine is also a HP Envy 17 t wGen 5 CPU and best card NVIDIA but no movement of jump. They are great machines. But for overclocking, you need to buy any other kind of laptop, the Envy series will not support it.

    Kind regards.

  • Add the SSD for HP Pavilion desktop computer

    Hello

I would like to add an SSD for my HP Pavilion 500-035ed (office). I do not want to replace the existing drive, I would add a second drive.

I have already noticed a free sata connection and a free power cable, but I didn't notice a physical position for the support and the screws etc...

Does anyone know if there is a manual that describes the physical position for a 2nd drive in HP Pavilion 500-035ed (office)?

    Thanks in advance,

  • I would like to add an ssd for my pavilion dv7

    Hey

I own a pavilion dv7 4050eb, and I'm looking to add an ssd.

It has 2 compartments to put a hard drive in my notebook, is currently being used, and the second is empty.

So I thought that it would not be a problem.

But when I went to my local computer specialty store (where I bought this laptop), they told me I will not work if the cable connection for a second hard drive and support was not provided with my laptop (which is you case) because they can't get those of HP, no matter how hard they try.

Is there really no way that HP can provide these simple parts (cable and support)?
And if I could get those, would there be any problems whith install an ssd in this specific book?

    Thanks in advance.

You can find the part number for the hard disk hardware kit in the guide Service & maintenance dv7. You can order the part of sellers online or directly from HP online parts store.

Hard disk hardware kit (not shown, includes right and left mounting rails,)
cable connector, Mylar cover with tab, 4 screws and 4 rubber Insulators) HP p/n 605415-001

Yes, you can add a SSD. Your laptop might even have been bought with a SSD when ordered online.

  • Apple will add an SSD for my imac end 2012

I have an imac end of 2012.  I want to add, and SSD drive to it to increase the speed of loading.  I use photoshop and then CC.  I really don't want to do it myself and can not find anywhere on the apple support site information they will or how long it would take.  Any thoughts?

You need find an authorized service center Apple close to home first.

Go to this page, click and fill in the information in the https://locate.apple.com/package.

Apple stores won't work, but an authorized provider can.  Give one of your

choice a call and see if they provide such a service.

I strongly suggest an authorized service center, because they are familiar with Apple products

Unlike a "generic" PC repair workshop

Another alternative to internal installation, would be to get a USB3 or SSD Thunderbolt

or housing USB3 or Thunderbolt and install your own SSD.  Although the external hard drive

may not be as fast compared with installed internally, it will still be a major improvement

on a standard HARD drive.  Install the operating system and your files on it and use on the inside as a backup.
