Laptop Inspiron 1545: several problems regarding the recovery / reinstallation

Hello everyone,

Since this machine has become very slow, I tried to do a system restore or reinstall windows 7 from Dell dvd. Unfortunately, none of these options work.

Restorations: When I call the menu (f8), the first option I get is computer repair (computer repair). Go with this option, the machine takes care of files for awhile, then I choose the language and give admin pwd. After that, I get more options, but Dell Factory Image Restore is not one of these. I checked and there is a recovery on the hard drive partion and tools windows system indicate that it is healthy.

Resettlement: The Dell reappattage dvd just does not play in my dvd player. The machine does not start, and if I try to open the dvd while the computer is running, it fails again. The funny thing is now the dvd opens fine in other machines, while in my inspiron dvd player play other DVDs very well.

So, what choices do I have? I tried to boot from a drive dvd external, but apparently bios does not boot from external devices like usb or usb connected dvd player.

I even tried to copy the image of dvd of resettlement in a new drive, but it does not work because the image is large more than 6 GB so does not fit into a normal dvd.

So I'm out of ideas at the moment. Any help would be welcome!

There is no need to update the BIOS - all versions of the 1545 supported USB boot.  Don't forget your device IS bootable, or it will not be displayed in the startup list.

  • Re: Several questions about the recovery of the Satellite L750 features

I have several questions about the recovery of Satellite L750 features available to it. Any help and answers would be useful.

    (1) when I started the laptop first, he asked me to create a recovery CD incase I need to reinstall the operating system. But he also said that he built in the recovery partition, so therefore, I have to make a recovery cd or not?

    (2) will be the recovery CD is exactly the same as the recovery on the system partition?

    (3) is the partion of CD or recovery includes all the integrated software pre-installed with the laptop?

    (4) also in the device manage management it shows watch partion recovery but it is empty, is it true?

    (5) in the second partition (drive D) system, he has a record with what looks like the recovery of files and folders. Is it safe to move/remove it?

    Hello

    I'll try to provide answers:
1 - to ensure that everything works perfectly you don t need these discs, but if something goes wrong with the HARD drive you will not be able to do anything. When you have the recovery DVDs, you will still be able to install the recovery image and once again the factory settings. So my advice to you is: create these discs as soon as possible. Use only on DVD-R media and buy products of high quality (TDK or Verbatim).
    2 - Yes.
    3 - Yes.
4 - No. Don t be confused with this.
    5. in a first time create restore DVD, and later you can do what you want. I put t know which files mean you but don t touch anything before that of the recovery disks to be created.

In the past, many people have been experimenting with the structure of HARD drive and partitions and later was surprised when installing disk recovery HARD has been damaged. Don t make the same mistake.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • HP laptop 15 15-r110dx: what makes the recovery through the HP Recovery Manager

    Hello.

My question is this, I upgraded my OS to windows 10, after upgrade, I did a reset of the operating system... Now I can't reset my laptop to its factory settings. and the recovery of original windwos 8.1 is no longer accessible. so I'll download windwos 8.1 pro from microsoft.com and then will install it in my laptop. so after installing, I'll be able to make a recovery of windwos 8.1 partition in my laptop via hp Recovery Manager. Please answer

Looks like you used the Win10 GoBack feature infamous attempt to restore your PC updated Win10 to a previous version of the OS, right?

If this is the case then, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but, unfortunately, the Win10 GoBack function is known to be unreliable, and when it fails it can leave machinery in a State corrupted - that seems to be what has happened to yours.

The Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt the partition of recovery that are stored by the OEM that built the original machine.  It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work.

While you MIGHT be able to reinstall and reactivate using a downloaded MS Win8.1, you won't be able to recreate the partition recovery as requiring a compressed image of HP OEM of Win8.1, which you can not create or get.

What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Don't forget to read through the material in the linked thread before attempting the recovery: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

  • What should I do if I want to format my laptop but I don't have the recovery

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P100, about 5 years ago I bought it.

Here is the story, I want to format my laptop but I don't have the recovery or Installer Windows Vista DVD disc, the operating system is pre-installed when I bought it. I know that I can download all components/drivers Toshiba Support page. But how I format without Installer Vista? I have the vista product identification number, so I wonder it works if I format it with vista ungenuine copy, but key ID I have to run it?

Thank you very much. All solutions would be very appreciated.

    See you soon
    Wolf

Satellite Pro P100 is old model laptop and I do not remember if this model was delivered with or without recovery DVDs. It turns out that all the models shipped without installation disc recorded on HARD drive data recovery and computer laptop owner is able to install this recovery image using HARD drive recovery facility.

Second option was using recovery DVD creation preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator tool. How it works and how to start the HARD drive recovery is described in s manuals that you got with your laptop computer in pdf format. You can also download manuals of this Toshiba support page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

So what you can do like the first, is to check if can begin installation of HARD drive recovery.

Otherwise, you must install OS using the Microsoft installation disc. As you already know, all of the drivers needed, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba supports the page.
Microsoft product key that you saw at the label belongs to the version of the OS pre-installed and cannot e used for activation if you install OS on your own.

  • Pavilion g6-2306el: problems with the recovery DVD-R discs

Hello, it's only now that I saw that the DVD + R is suggested for all recovery discs burning. A little too late for me, since I bought several DVD-R to produce my game. Here is what happened: each disk has been created with difficulty; the burning process failed on all the others try. But in the end, I finally got the DVD-R 4 program have been burned and verified correctly. Now, when I tried to insert each disk to make sure that the laptop was able to read properly (the content supposed to be confirmed, after all), to my horror, I realized the first two discs were not being recognized. However, my patience was rewarded when, after a long time, suddenly, an Explorer window showing the contents of the disc. Taking advantage of the situation, I immediately copied this content in a folder on the desktop. It took me a long time to do this process for the content of the first two discs that had recognized problems. Subsequently I also copied the contents of the discs 3 and 4, which was much faster. Now, I have four folders with the corresponding content of the recovery disks in the office. The question is: can I use these content and burn on DVD + R this time, in order to have a working set of recovery disks? Thank you very much.

    Hi @anthony_s

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that you have created your recovery on the wrong type of DVD disc and does not work.  You have copied the contents of folders on the desktop you and want to know if you can now create new recovery DVD on the appropriate type of files.

No, it will not work.  I suggest that you contact HP support and inform about events and inquire about obtaining a recovery kit.

  • Equium L40 problems using the recovery disk

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can help me?

I want to restore my computer but when I put the recovery disk in I select the cd/dvd rom drive by pressing f12 at startup.
I also maintained pressed C when I lit. I select the disc I want to start the computer, it goes to a black screen, then it loads just windows up as usual.

I phoned with Toshiba for help and all they could tell me was that as another drive worked on my computer, it isn't a problem with the disk drive, but a problem with the disc and it will cost me 30 quid for a new!

Is anyone able to give me any help

    Thank you

    Hello

If I understand your message, you are not able to recover the laptop using the Toshiba disc. Is this good?

Well, in your case I recommend to start from another original Windows XP CD bootable disc or Vista DVD or a Linux drive to test if the CD/DVD drive can handle this drive.

In this case, you can test if your CD/DVD drive is faulty or if the problem is related to the Toshiba DVD recovery.

  • My HP laptop has had a problem with the uncontrollable from scrolling upward and to the left.

Hoping someone can help me with this - for a month or if my computer hp laptop has had a problem with uncontrollable scroll upward and to the left. It is now getting worse and happens in all programs, including Word, Adobe, browsers, etc.. Even to type this message is difficult because the cursor periodically jumps to the top left corner of the text box. I tried to attach a new external mouse, but this is not enough. The problem occurs even when not to use the touchpad. I scanned my computer with several anti-virusprograms but no luck. It becomes difficult to use the computer for something else. Even now the down arrows / right does not help. PLEASE ADVISE!

    Original title: scrolling problem

    Hi Suresh,

This is a late response to your question, but I thought that I could add more information here.

From your description, it seems that your PageUp and the keys to the House (or arrows) of the keyboard are either stuck, or failing. These keys usually help access us in applications you mentioned. And since you mentioned that this happens even when the touchpad is not in use, it is likely that this could be the cause here.

I suggest get you the checked keyboard when using a hardware technician, preferably from your computer manufacturer. That should help you understand better.

Let us know if you need help with Windows, we are happy to be of assistance.

  • Problems about the recovery partition

I have a Samsung np520u4c-a01ub... on my SW update... I wanted to install the recovery, but it is said that "recovery partition does not exist Setup will be cancelled. How to create a recovery partition? I searched on google and all I found was that recovery partition is created on a USB Flash drive... I want to create the partition on my hard drive recovery... is it possible? If so, how can I create one? :(

also, when I bought this laptop, I got a problem with BSOD... I used the recovery and restored my PC... but then... when I installed the recommended facilities and updated SW Update... the recovery cannot be installed as what I mentioned above... Please help... :))

  • USB keys - problem with the Recovery Manager

I bought a 16GB Kingston DataTraveler 112 USB key so I could copy the recovery as a backup image. He acknowledged the USB key and showed that the recovery image has been slightly more than 11 GB. But when he started to format the USB key, it returns to the previous screen and asking more of the car. At the bottom of the screen, he said to contact the HP Support, but it gives me an error message. Now when I try the Recovery Manager it does not recognize the USB at all.

Before that, I had bought another 16 GB USB - don't remember what brand. I have 5 other USB drives, but they are all small, except a 32 GB Kingston DT101 G2 which does not work on this computer, even if it worked on my old computer (Pavilion w/Vista Home Premium) without problem. All these USBs, including the new Kingston are for USB 2.0.

Operating system is Windows 8.1 64-bit on the desktop HP Pavilion 500 - A60. I tried the problem that USB keys in all 4 ports (2.0 and 3.0). Also in that I plug into a port to give me 3 USB ports, also used on my previous computer.

Is it possible that this computer does not recognize Kingston or some other brands of USB thumb drives?

The trick to this is to use a USB 2.0 port and use a non-windows 8 certified thumbdrive. If the USB flash drive shows as a 'removable device' there should be no problem in the use of the media to create a recovery media

I had a lot of success with a 16 GB Transcend USB 3.0 flash drive.

I own a couple of DataTraveler flash drives and had the same lack of success, creation of recovery media that you did. I have had zero success with 3.0 of Sandisk Extreme usb flash drives

  • H8-1447ez: problem with the recovery Image

I have HP's ENVY h8 PC bought two years ago. Last week, I tried to update my OS to Win10 - in any case - I made the backup of the downloaded and installed on USB recovery Image Win10. Don't like it, then

because win 10 deleted the entry of the new filming, I use my USB key to back to Win 8. After some problems, I successfully restored my old BONES, but it does not recognize the partition of

the recovery Image - neither the original nor the USB.
I mean, if I go to settings-> change the PC-> General settings-> delete everything and reinstal windows-> start-> Reset your PC-> next it says: cannot find the files needed

Is it possible to fix this?

    Ladies and gentlemen: PROBLEM SOLVED...

I have successfully restored my PC in its original configuration - if you want, I can write how separate article make (fix Recovery Manager and problem with Recovery Manager not seeing original missing recovery Image).

@veilendank10: thanks for trying to help, but my problem is of a very different nature.

  • SEVERAL problems with the new X 34

So, I have been active during the overclock.net forums concerning the many problems I am having with my X 34.

Long story short, I'm back this thing to Newegg and waiting for another delivery. But I thought I'd come at least here because it has high liklihood to return to anyone who cares to Acer. I called their tech support to let them know about the issues, but when the old Indian robot for 2 years at the other end kept referring to as resolution of refresh rate, I decided that I couldn't take more.

So I took delivery of the monitor yesterday and he initially worked well... but the longer he stayed, the more problems, he has developed.

My system is one I built a year or two ago and works perfectly with my Dell 3008WFP. Video card is a brand new MSI 980 Ti Lightning. Operating system is Windows 10 x 64. Is a Corsair 750W POWER supply. 16 GB of DDR3 RAM.

I even made a COMPLETELY new install of Windows 10 on this computer to try to resolve these problems. Did not work. I have disconnected/reconnected everything inside my computer, including RAM and GPU. Did not work.

And Yes, G-sync is enabled in the NVCP. And Yes, I manually set the refresh rate in the NVCP in correlation with the manual settings on the monitor.

Problem no. 1: Menu recording does not settings

-Don't know what the problem is here. But for about 3 hours last night, my monitor would not save settings for serger refresh rate. I would go on the menu... allow the serger... Set it to 100 Hz... Select "Apply and restart. Then (here's the interesting thing I think in hindsight), the screen would flash many colors several times and restart. I assumed that flashing color was normal... but it was never the Predator Logo when it has been reset. The office is finally pointing upwards and I could choose 100 Hz in my NVCP... but when you returned from the settings menu, Overclock was Off back with the default refresh rate. I have nothing would fix it with the reset of the monitor and unplug. Later... I have unplugeed the monitor for 30 minutes and when I plugged it back in, it would save my overclock settings now. It is interesting, but now, when I selected "Apply and reset", he would show the Predator logo when restarting... this logo did not appear before.

    Problem #2: Flashing screen

-See a video of this question HERE

-This developed before my eyes. After the initial installation of the monitor, it worked fine. Without no flicker, no problems. But as I was sitting at the dinner table last night, I started to see the monitor flashing intermittently in the other room. I look at the screen, he flickered about 4 or 5 times per minute. For the next hour, he progressed to 30 - 40 times per minute. And subsequently developed in constant blinking. BUT this flicker only happens when I go to the Office at 100 Hz. It happens sometimes in games, but not constant.

I first thought that I had a bad cable of DP since I used one from Amazon, if I swapped it for the Acer cable included. Nope... same problem. I even inserted my previous EVGA 780 TI... but the flicker that happens too.

Then, I thought it was a driver problem, I did a clean install of the nVdiia previous drivers. Nope. Then a cleaning installed latest drivers from nVidia WHQL. Nope.

Then I saw here that you can download the drivers for the monitor directly from Acer. So, I did a guy like an unsigned driver installation. Nope.

After all this, the problem persists.

Strange thing about this one is that there was when I first got the monitor but got progressively worse since I got it.

Another weird thing is that if I have a window open, then it isn't twinkle... reduce the window, and he comes back. It's actually what made me think, it was a driver issue, but as you can see above, I think that I have ruled that that fully.

Also, if I set my refresh rate to 95Hz or below, the problem occurs. (This is actually how I currently work).

-UPDATE: the issue has actually started just after executing i1Profiler to calibrate the screen several times back to back. I can't imagine how, but could the rapid exchange of multiple colors full screen damaged electronics somehow? Or is it just a weird coincidence?

-UPDATED #2: it was suggested that ADC can cause the problem as it caused problems with the previous Acer monitors. So I completely deleted i1Profiler and reset my default .icc profile. I also think that I figured out how to do a monitor factory reset - if you hold the buttons first and fifth, restarting the screen and all the default settings. in any case, does too and the blinking persists...

    #3 problem: Backlight horrible bleeding

I have to type anything here? Leave some pictures to speak for themselves...

Trouble #4: Parts of the screen does not not on

It has been described elsewhere, so I won't detail it here. But yes, I have the same problem. Here is a representative of my monitor picture when the issue arose.

Overall, I am extremely disappointed, although I can't say I'm surprised. I mean, we deal with Acer here guys... Not exactly known for the high-end products. You can put the red lipstick on a pig...

So is there more any idea or suggestion out there?

Until then... I'll wait for my new X 34 excerpt here from Newegg to see if I won the lottery of Acer he...
