  Hi I have a Portege R600-10, q,

  It keeps freezing after a short period of use - although if I leave it for a few minutes, sometimes it can be useful.
  If it is turned on for long enough, it will display a blank screen and the fans will turn on very hard.

  I cleaned ports ventilation and re-glued the CPU, and it did not make a difference.

  I ran HDD and memory (mhdd/memtest) diagnostics, and they have all done.

  basically my taskbar keeps freezing randomly and constantly, I have absolutely no idea why, im usually on internet and it freezes when im there.
  but also with anything im using on the laptop so can't really identify what are the causes. its really frustrating me the sound no longer works, and the small icons disappear after that it freezes

  If you want to quick fix use Toshiba recovery disc and reinstall the OS. With the own operating system preinstalled, everything should be OK again.

  I have a few here that might solve the problem.

  First of all, I suggest that you start the computer in safe mode and of control; safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Without the machine test myself that I can't be sure, but based on the age of the computer and what you wrote I suspect for lack of material. It could be something simple like the hard drive or RAM or something more serious like the motherboard. I wouldn't recommend replacing any material on such an old laptop.

  As long as the hard disk has been physically, you can recover your data easily. If the hard drive has failed, then you will need to send the drive to a professional drive savers data recovery company. It is quite expensive ($500-3700), but they can usually recover your data. Some insurance policies cover also, professional data recovery in order to check with yours. But let's be optimistic. ;-)

  IMPORTANT - If there is no question that the drive is at fault - there are noises, for example - and the data is crucial NOTHING else ON THE DISC. Whenever launch you this player you can destroy data. If this is the case, send the drive to a professional data recovery company.

• Video laptop G72 dies after start upward

  I have a G72 with the Radeon 5470 gpu.  2 days ago, my wife received a blue screen on Windows 7 x 64, stating that the driver had stopped working.  At go here the G72 not would make on the desktop without the screen goes dead.  The machine starts in safe mode fine.   I tried as much as I could think to solve this problem, but finally backed its data and restored at the factory.   The problem persisted and I ended up disabling the ATI card in the control panel.  The machine seemed to work after that.   I have begain long BONE up to current curing process.  About 2 sets of updates after Win 7 SP1 the problem came back.   I started in safe mode and checked the driver and discovered that it had been reactivated.  I tried to disable it again and reboot.  Sometimes she remains disabled through reboot, but sometimes it isn't.  At this point the machine turns to a black screen (video not only in black but dead) after that I sign.   This was without taking into account the option enable or disable the status on the ATI card.

  Then...   I tried to make another hook the operating system and got to half way through.  Installing Windows now tries to restart and after that the machine is in place, the screen goes dead.

  Any suggestions?   Is there a way to disable the card in the bios?  It can be physically removed the card?

  Thanks for your help on this.  The hard reset doesn't change anything.

  After about 20 restarts, I could lift the machine with a regular VGA driver and reinstall the driver of IntelHD.  I can now go to full resolution.  I agree that the ATI card is broken.  Probably because of the heat. (just my opinion)

  For all those running in this kind of failure the key here is persistence.  Keep restarting in safe mode and disable the ATI card in Device Manager, and eventually, you will get a clean boot.  Once you have a clean boot, install your Intel drivers and be happy that you have a laptop and not a brick.

  My laptop (plug in the link) is not able to do things like games video, screens 3D of watching 3D or able to watch a movie cause the screen refreshes as in herts 1 or something.   I have a Samsung laptop, RV515 (1.65 GB and 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB) running on Windows 7 and MS Office 2007 Academic.

  I got the message 'not only respondents' for a long time, but they became more frequent, especially in Internet Explore but then also in Google chrome and Word. Then, I installed MS office 2013 and updated Norton in the same week and got a lot more message "not responding". I also downloaded a program that converts Youtube videos in files.  So I defragmented which took about 14 hours and a complete analysis of the system, which was another 9 hours. The laptop was faster that he had never been but then after a few days started to freeze in almost all programs. CLT-alt-del screen stopped appearing. I did a lot of system and controls maintenance, who says super fetch couldn't run, but everything else was okay. I tried a number of time to start to look great but every time I check it is said that it will not start.

  My Norton live-view disappeared at the same time I downloaded the Youtube converter (see above) so I deleted Norton in safe mode and rebooted, but it didn't reappear. Then, I thought that I should delete all parasitic programs that my son downloaded so I deleted a few games and Youtube converter, but also ' ETDware PS/2-X64_WHQL' thinking that was a game too! In any case, my laptop has complained and reinstalled.

  I have tried reloading MS Windows 7 and had this message: windows can not retrieve information about the disks on this computer.

  In safe mode Office Professional 2013 does not open, but the fact of MS Office 2007. So I tried to repair Office Professional and I got this message: click on MS Office to run has stopped working.

  Anyway, my current position is that my computer starts normally but which icon I click on (even the start ORB), it sends the hourglass spinning and the screen freezing. A few times I was able to open a program, but is that I get.

  I am not an expert as you have no doubt worked and have messed with it much too now and are out of options. Help someone?

• MacBook Pro keeps freezing after update to Mountain Lion

  I've recently upgraded to Mountain Lion since Snow leopard. I use a late 2008 Macbook Pro. Since the upgrade, I'm randomly crashes when you use most of the applications (logic x, VLC, QuickTime) it also freezes when using Mozilla. When it freezes I don't get the option to force quit if I continue to use the power to close button. I really want to continue to use Mountain Lion, because I use several applications up-to-date as logic x and is also compatible with my external sound card. I enclose a newspaper of being as recommended check on some posts here. Any help would be great and thanks in advance

  Hello billy.

  When point to Mountain Lion? When say 'freeze' you mean the kernel panics? You get a multilingual you requiring window on the eve of your Mac? Your EtreCheck report shows 3 kernel panics. They were before or after you updated to Mountain Lion? If your machine has been seen panicking the kernel before, then it might be a hardware problem. If these panics are new since the Mountain Lion, then it is likely an incompatibility with one of your extensions to core 3rd part. She can relate to those who show 'loaded' in your report of EtreCheck, but it could involve other extensions too, depending on what hardware or software is used.
