Laptop keyboard just type the special characters (those of accented)

My Windows 7 laptop keyboard will only be the type of special characters (for example, accented letters) and no regular letters or symbols. Help please? Laptop is currently unusable because I'm unable to type. Have tried to use as well the built-in keyboard and a wireless and issues is both.

Well oddly enough it turns out be the key "Alt Gr". How have I never noticed that the key next to the space bar? ! He pressed a couple of times & everything back in order. Thanks to the OP, but because you had not mentioned it I would not have thought to try :)

    The equations are a problem. If the equation is text, you can be lucky if you have the fonts on your system. Most of the time I have try, the fonts in the equation are garbage. Expect to have to retype the equations and some special characters. Much also depends on the existence of the fonts on your system. Just in my experience, the equations are almost impossible to convert.

  • Apple TV 9.2 using the keyboard to type the first few letters in library home sharing

    Hello community,

    Someone managed to use the keyboard to type the first letters of a movie/tv/music show in their home sharing library?

    To explain more in detail - the reason why I want to do it is to spend in that capacity that I'm looking rather than slowly scroll down the list of titles. It is a useful time saver.

    Yes you can do it like this

    Table created.

    SQL> alter table t add constraint t_chk check(length(regexp_replace(field_1, '[[:alnum:]|[:space:]]'))=0);

  • How to type the special symbol by computer hp laptop pavilion g4

    Hello, everyone

    I use a computer hp laptop pavilion g4. Is the keyboard doesn't have the NumLock key

    I want to write several special symbols using a combination of keys (Alt + xxx)

    Please show me how to do it.

    Thank you very much!

    The only other option is to use the virtual keyboard in combination with the laptop keyboard.  You can search online to see a lot of different proposals, rather than posting me here.  Here's just one of the examples.

  • Type the Scandinavian characters in Dreamweaver [from: is it possible to map a command to a keyboard shortcut?]

    Just to add another question: is it still the card my Nordic utf - 8 characters while I type in Dreamweaver? For the moment, I have to pass a tedious find and replace after any text that I wrote. I did a series of macros that makes (two for each character), but I can't make it work as a macro. That's why she everything would be easier if I could just spend the keyboardmapping when I type a UTF - 8.

    I do not have a Danish keyboard, but I was able to enter Danish characters from a UK keyboard with the ALT sequences

    In the conv_id column we want to insert special characters.

    ! @$# are not more special than to abcd

    VARCHAR2 is fine

    I want to generate random password which should include at least one special character that could be any special character except @. dbms_random. String ('p', 1) will give 1 printable character that could be all in uppercase or lowercase, or any numeric value too. But how can I generate just 1 special character (with the exception of the @)?

    Hello

    Welcome to the forum!

    You can do something like this:

    SELECT SUBSTR ( '!#$%^*:;,.' -- list all special characters here
                   , dbms_random.value (1, 11)     -- 11 = 1 + number of special characters
                , 1
                )     AS special_char
    FROM     scott.emp
    ;

  • Read the special characters from the txt file

    Hi guys,.

    on blackberry 9000, I tried to read some special characters like this: ° ²® µ±³ ° ¯´µ±´¯® text file

    using this function:

    FileConnection fc = (FileConnection) Connector.open ("file:///SDCard/test.txt", Connector.READ_WRITE);
    InputStream is = fc.openInputStream ();
    InputStreamReader reader = new InputStreamReader (is, "UTF - 8");
    LineReader lineReader = new LineReader (is);
    line & = new String (lineReader.readLine ());

    what I get is different, I can't write it here, it is difficult to find these characters.

    I change the content of the file to:

    ddfdsfdsfdsfdsfdsf
    aaaaabbbc ° ² ° ¯´µ±´¯® µ±³®

    now I get:

    ddfdsfdsfdsfdsfdsf
    aaaaabbbc, then the same characters

    How to display the same as what I have in the text file?

    Thank you

    To add to what martijnbrinkers said, you need not to the InputStreamReader because you don't use it (and this is why your code has no idea that the file is in UTF-8 encoding).

  • Bunch of Oracle on the special characters in a string - translate?

    How to remove special characters in a string, it can contain. , (space), etc.

    SELECT TRANSLATE('123.456 (90-90)', '', '') FROM DUAL

    Basically I want to undress and to compare with the db value.

    WHERE TRANSLATE(TABLE.NUMCODE, '', '')  = TRANSLATE('123.456 (90-90)', '', '')

    Use TRANSLATE, since you're on 9i. For example:

    TRANSLATE (your_string,'X,. #! % @$ ^ & * () _-+=', 'X')

    Removes all the s characters in ', #! % @$ ^ & * () _-+=' of your_string.

  • Keyboard does not type the correct characters after upgrade to Windows 8

    After the upgrade to win 8 from win 7 on my laptop, that some special character keys don't work in the exact way. For example, when I press SHIFT + @-> I get "result and vice versa.

    Also the sign of the backslash works. It gives the character # and hash gives me character £.
    Any help?

    Another possibility is the incompatibility with the constant guard of Comcast program, which is not compatible with Win 8.  I had the same problem (1-0 on the main keyboard keys don't work), but once I uninstalled the constant guard, everything worked again. (Of course, I had to reinstall Norton.)  Thanks to a person of a forum package for the suggestion!

  • Computer laptop keyboard acts as the CTRL key is stuck

    No particular reason, that I can isolate, the keyboard on my brand new HP laptop will act sometimes as sank the CTRL key.  For example, if I type 'problem' when the problem occurs, most applications will be to print this page. It is especially annoying and I can't reproduce the problem... it is seemingly random.

    I disabled all the keyboard shortcuts as I can find a way to make keys sticky. I installed all available updates. I removed the keyboard driver and let the system to reinstall. And many other things I could think

    The only thing that seems to make the problem disappear (outside reboot) is to bring up the keyboard on the screen. All loading screen keyboard fixes the problem. This leads me to think that the problem may ultimately reside with the on-screen keyboard.

    I have not installed software on this computer that came with it at HP except Google Chrome.

    Return "no questions asked" warranty will expire soon, so I would like to get this resolved as soon as POSSIBLE

    Hello

    Try clicking both the left side and right side keys CTRL at the same time.  I hope that works for you!
    Good luck
