It was my first attempt to replace a motherboard in my laptop and the little connectors was a challenge. I decided to experiment and found that some connectors had a black guard who lifted and some had a guard who pulled out, while some have a guard at all. I managed to change the Board of Directors and get back together.

  I got this laptop was given to me by my aunt. I love the look of this laptop, but I do some light games, and I would like to know if it is possible to buy a replacement motherboard for an other motherboards series HP 17 F, as cases seem to all look pretty much the same. I've already upgraded to 8gig of ram and an SSD and moved my stock HARD drive in the optical drive Bay. These upgrades he accelerated, but being the gfx integrated apu, nothing works with it.   It does not appear as if it will fit. Look at the pictures of these two systemboards, and you will see that the boards mounting holes are not the same. This would also likely that external ports probably don't line up precisely enough to adapt to the back part of the base of the laptop case.
