Satellite P755-S5269 more errors

Good then the disk error HARD is back. I checked again today and the HARD drive Protection is always turned off and now I can't restore the system. I can also scroll up or down, left-right button. When I try to install the Protection of HARD drive, I get a screen indicating that there are files that need to be updated by this setup and in the box below it shows 'Toshiba HDD Protection' with two choices. One of them will close and restart the application, and the other option is to leave it open with "reboot is required" in parentheses. No matter where I click, when I get to the part of the copy of the installation files, I get

* ERROR 1402.Could not open key: UNKNOWN/Components/56FF328A3F01FAF438CA9568C8A1D936/9C09A491C17A074885FAA74CE9CB604 please check that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.*

Then when I tried to do a system restore, I get the following error:

* System Restore has failed. System and the files on your computer have not changed. *

* Details:
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable (0 x 80070570) *.

Click Cancel actually disappear, but try again once causes a '' catastrophic '' to occur, error crashing on the office where all is well.

And my touchpad is not scrolling up or down, left-right either. I've done a dskchk/f <1>and a virtually single area command prompt flashes, then disappears making it impossible to read

Just buy a Toshiba restore disk or what because I've had this laptop for maybe 4 weeks now and I'm having all kinds of problems, especially with the HARD disk Protection program... I am not satisfied with the way in which this happens. Or should I just buy a new version of windows?

In my opinion, you should reinstall the recovery image and again test the functionality with the factory settings.
Please do it. I hope that everything will be OK again. I put t know if you created the recovery following reminder of Toshiba recovery disc. If you have, use it for installing the OS.

Original recovery image is designed for your laptop and also tested model so it should work fine. With other words all Toshiba specific tools and utilities should work correctly.

Test it.

I tried to install the latest driver / wirless battery, display and others and the value of the entire too and still does not work

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

You use the Windows 7 system?
    Other FN keys work correctly?

Please check first if the special function mode key does not affect the functionality of the FN button.
In BIOS-> Advanced-> system configuration, you can find the special function key option mode. It allows you to use the function keys without pressing the FN key.

Where this is not the problem, you must reinstall the Toshiba VAP for Win 7 as well as the utility of Support Flash Cards for Win 7

After this reboot of the laptop.

  • Satellite P755-103 - cannot install the package of added value

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite P755-103. In order to maintain the updated drivers, I downloaded Toshiba Value Package added to the downloads section of the page Web of Toshiba. (2 times, I'm sure that the driver is for my 64-bit version of Windows 7).
When I tried to install it, I got the repair and the options remove. Repair gave me this error: RegDBGetItem failed (1). So I removed completely the driver so that I can install it again. During the installation of the driver that I got the same error, so I couldn't install it, so now I'm unable to activate the shortcut keys PVAT gives me access.

If anyone knows something that might help with this problem please say something, it would be very apreciated.
    Sorry for my English.

    Thank you

    Hello

Value added package is still listed in the list of Windows software? If so, I would recommend removing it. Then restart your computer and try to reinstall the VAP.

If it doesn t work I would try CCleaner. That is a nice freeware tool to clean the registry. You can find the tool using Google. Just run the registry cleaner and then you should be able to install VAP.

Generally speaking, it s is not necessary to update the drivers if everything is ok. If you n t have any problems you can forget about these updates. ;)

  • Occasional overheating of satellite P755-103

    Hello!

I bought a new Satellite P755-103 this month. Last Thursday, after a full day of work with the laptop, while I was on a Skype video call on windows, I noticed that the laptop was overheating. I opened the Toshiba PC Health Monitor (strangely, there is no icon for it, so I started on the Start Menu). It reported 0% and 0% CPU temperature fan speed. I turned on the eco mode, which immediately began the fan, but the health monitor always reports 0%, 0%. I rebooted several times and the health monitor continue to report at 0%, 0%, and fan behavior is not compatible with the temperature: change to eco usually resulted in power runs properly. Finally, I decided to stop, unplug the power supply and restart. It seems that this solves the problem, which has occurred again.

I suspect that the cooling is controlled by the BIOS, I have all of the Toshiba Linux utilities. I have recently updated the BIOS to v1.90 dated 27/04/2011, as recommended by the utility Toshiba Bulletin Board.

Is there a recommendation from overheating problems, not to mention that all backup data?

    Thank you
    Paulo Pereira, Portugal

    Hello Paulo

Data backup is always the right decision and you shouldn't do it due to overheating, but more to avoid the loss of data if the HARD drive is faulty.

When the laptop overheating as it turned off (physical protection) or part of the hardware (GPU) may be damaged.
My only advice to you is to take care of your laptop. Use it on the office and always make sure that the cooling vents and cooling grills are free and not blocked.

For every day use I recommend to use the balanced power plan. Enter power options advanced for balanced power management > Toshiba power Saver saver > cooling method and assign the optimised battery.
Your portable computer is running much more silent than before.

    Test it please.

  • Satellite P755 - 11G: Win 7 64 bit - cannot activate BT after replacement of the module

    Hello

On my laptop Satellite P755, I had to replace the Wifi/Bluetooth PCI Express Mini card because the original Atheros was broken and was no longer working.

So I decided to buy a new Intel® Wireless-Dualband-AC 7260 card to replace.
    Has successfully replaced by itself.
    WiFi now works again.

Now, I'm dealing to get BT running. With the old Atheros card I could activate BT by pressing FN + F8 and choose Bluetooth from the menu of flashcard on top of the screen.

After the replacement of the F8 full option in flash cards had disappeared.
I managed to solve the problem for the WiFi by adding the ID of the new material of the card Intel (PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_08B1 & SUBSYS_40708086) in the registry in the following locations:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\ConfigFree--> InternalDevice176
    Hotkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\Wireless--> DevID_SupportRL175
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\WirelessAPL\BT WLANDP--> DevID_SupportRL176
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TOSHIBA\WirelessDevice ID--> DevID_SupportRL176

Now FN + F8 works very well for the WiFi, flash cards menu appeared again.
But there is still no option to activate Bluetooth.

Addition of the BT hardware in the registry (same locations as the WiFI) ID does not help.
I can't get the point how the flash cards software manages to activate the bluetooth normally.

Does anyone have an idea what it takes to get the Bluetooth in the menu flash cards?

    My system:
    Toshiba P755 - 11G
    Windows 7 64 bit

    See you soon,.
    Alex

    Hello

You said that the original WLan module was to Atheros.
As far as I know the module Atheros WLan additional needs for the installation of the filter for the Atheros BT driver package in order to use and activate Bluetooth.

In the case of modules WLan Intel such package of filter is not necessary.

I guess the Atheros BT filter driver package is always installed on this laptop and I think this might be the reason why the BT can not be activated properly.

However, I recommend you to uninstall the filter BT mentioned driver package as well as Toshiba BT stack, driver Atheros WLan and the Toshiba value added package, and the Flash Cards Support utility. Clean the system using the CCleaner tool.

Then install the Intel driver that would control the new Intel WLan card.
Install the Toshiba BT stack and restart the device. Now follow with the installation of the Toshiba added value package and the Flash Cards Support utility. Reboot once again and check if you can use FN + F8 to activate WiFi and BT

I recently bought a Satellite P755-S5382 (maybe a month ago), and until today it worked fine. I went to work leaving on, and when I got home it seems asleep. After checking, I saw it was off, and when I tried to put in operation the power button flashed about 5 times and it wouldn't start. I UN-plugged it and tried with just the battery and tried to take the battery out and put it back after a few minutes.

So far, nothing I do not work. I don't know if the battery is dead and the power adapter does not work, but I would like to know if anyone has any other suggestions before I have spend $60 on a new adapter and/or battery.

You can start laptop without battery and connected to the power supply current only?

    Hello

SATA-III was introduced in Sandy Bridge chipset (Intel with the 2nd generation 6 series I have Core CPU).

You can install a diagnostic software hardware such as Sandra Software or Everest Home Edition for all the info on the hardware installed in your laptop.

  • Satellite P755-11 q - bad WiFi reception

    Hello.

    I have a new satellite p755, with W7 64-bit.
I admit for almost a month now, after 4 years of use of a satellite A500 18 Q. my old laptop still works and here begins the problem.

We have a connaction wireless at home. my old computer so the computer of my brother have a full reception at most of the places in the House.

my new computer has half a rece [option at best, a room away from the router, and if I go further, I can't get a connection to all pilots are the latest in existence and I'm at the end of my intelligence.]

Is the network card of lower quality than that of the old A50? What could be the problem and how can I solve it?

the map, as far as I know, is an Atheros AR9002WB-1NG wireless network adapter.

In addition, when the computer returns from hybernation, (using system continue) it works really slow, and it takes nearly 10 minutes to all open the wondows work too much in fact.

I bought no new computer to get a better user experience, as my old computer is "tired" and ready to retire. but so far, it's mainly a source of frustration.

    Help, please.
    Thank you.

    > Is the network of lower quality than that of the old A50 map? What could be the problem and how can I solve it?

Don t think that the quality is poor there are different cards on the market and each chip wireless network support different features

In your case, I would try to change the standard 802.1 B or G

Try to also change the channel
As far as I know that this may be in the Device Manager-> Wlan card-> properties-> tab advantage

Also disable power save for the wireless network adapter

  • Satellite P755 - S5278 WLan 802.11 networks is not found

    Toshiba Hi community.

First of all, I apologize for my bad English, but I only speak Spanish...

I have a Toshiba Satellite P755-S5278 with Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x 64, this model of laptop have a Realtek RTL8188CE who support standards b/g/n, the map search 'b' and 'g' correctly, networks but can't find network "n".
    Recently, I updated the driver to the latest version available on [Realtek.com | http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=48&Level= 5 & Conn = 4 & ProdID = 272 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false & nloads Dow = true #RTL8188CE]

the driver version is 1005.24.0712.2011 released on 7/27/2011 and the problem continues...

I thank you if any people can help me to solve the problem.

From the Panel open Device Manager and expand network adapters. Right click on the Realtek Wireless Lan and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab and wireless Mode must be set in IEEE 802. 1 b/g/n. If it is set to 802.1 b/g, then this is the solution.
