Laptop restore

I recently had my laptop cleaned remotely, like what happens on my cable company doing maintenance on the Internet. I had to restart my laptop. After rebooting when my screen came, I realized that I could not communicate with the agent who helped me, needless to say I had no idea on the maintenance of the current internet. I was a little upset, so I call the cable company and they were the one who told me they were the ones you told me they were doing maintenance on the Internet. I told them that I noticed above the taskbar saying my version of windows is not genuine, I call them the next day to file a complaint because I still had no internet and above the task bar he always said my version of windows is not genuine. So they recommended, I have a technician come out and check their equipment which I agree now to regret. I think it's their mistake during their interview, they ruined laptop. In any case, I took my laptop for repairs and they called me telling me that I owe you restore on my laptop but it will erase everything, I asked if I'm a flash drive USB if I could save my photos told me Yes so I bought a USB flash drive. Then I was told that there is an accusation because my subscription does not cover it. So I ask them how I went on that since I had never used a before USB flash drive, the only thing they did for me was that I needed to do in safe mode how I don't know what will be saved and you making sure all my photos are registered? Is there anyone out there who can help me? I look forward to a response from someone who can explain what it is that exactly what I should do thanks for any help appreciated.

  • HP laptop - 15-ac158dx: squeaky sound coming from computer speakers, headphones are not affected

Earlier this week, I received and downloaded the latest update of Windows 10. It went smoothly as planned and everything seemed fine until yesterday, I started to experience a buzzing scratching of my laptop speakers. It was intermittent at first, and then it escalated. Some music and audio as dialogue and certain songs feels this scraping sound along the coast the audio ordinary much.

To test fade the cause is physical (speakers themselves) or software related (because of update) I did the following.

I tried what has been said in this issue; http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-15-audio-crackles-unless-headphones-plugged-in/td-p/5....

I created a system on the laptop restore point and backup all data and uninstalled the audio drivers from the Device Manager and reinstalled.

It didn't work and now I'm assuming it's a physical problem with the speakers themselves. If this is the case, what should I do? A check appears to show that my warranty is still applicable; should I go with him?

Thanks for joining the HP Forums.
I'll be happy to help you

If I understand correctly the helmet function correctly, however, the speakers create excessive noise and in view of the fact that you have already reinstalled the drivers, tried a backup & restore, but the problem persists.

  • Why Toshiba laptops are not supplied with the common Vista installation CD

Our House now has two laptops from Toshiba x, which were provided with MS Vista Home Premium pre-installed.

The nature of the medium of recovery provided with these machines is such that (a), we do not have enough flexibility to the volume/partition sizes, locations of program etc. and more specifically.

It makes it necessary for the majority of the supplied software (Norton Security etc.) should be installed by default in the case of a system failure. (And immediately uninstalled after recovery! A useless waste of time).

In view of the fact that a proportion of the price paid for each laptop must have included a cost for the Vista operating system, do anyone know if it is possible to get a recovery disk of master which consists ONLY of the operating system, and allows us the flexibility of configuration that was available when the OS was purchased as a separate product.

In addition, please let me know if it is possible to buy Toshiba laptops as a machine to RAW, IE no BONES no provided, and I'll then buy my own and cut out the garbage that are provided on the pre-installed medium.

    Hello

If you need a DVD of Vista as the original DVD of Microsoft Vista you will need to buy!

Toshiba and other computer manufacturers create a clean recovery disk which includes the Windows operating system, the drivers, tools and utilities to simplify the laptop restore.

Using the recovery disk, you can restore the laptop to the factory setting within 10 minutes.

In addition, this Vista OS is supplied under OEM license and can be used with this laptop

  • How can I check replacement memory is correct for the following laptop:

I'm considering a purchase in the next 2 months of this device: HP ProBook 4530 s (XU016UT #ABA).  Is there a list indicating the memory that is compatible with this unit of the brand and model?  I'm looking at this particular unit: Corsair Memory - 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 SODIMM Memory (CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 The 4530 comes with Win 7 Pro 32 bit OS, so it will use more than 4 GB of memory.)  Thanks for any help you can offer.  Jim.

    Hi, Jim:

This memory should work, but only 4 GB will be usable with a 32-bit operating system. You need a 64-bit operating system to take advantage of more than 4 GB of memory.

When you receive your laptop, call HP at this number below and see if they will send you a W7 Pro 64 bit game of fast laptop restore disks and if you decide to install 8 GB of memory, you can install the 64-bit operating system.  You will need the model number and serial number handy.

    1-800-334-5144

You can use almost no portable PC3-1333 ECC memory.

    This memory will work:

Now I can't restore the laptop, restor factory setting icon is not active. window does not work correctly.

Partitioning the hard drive usually breaks the recovery feature, changing the drive letters and/or usually convert the hard disk from basic to dynamic disk.

Try EaseUS Partition Manager to get rid of the additional partitions and convert dynamic back to base:

in the menu options on the Summary tab, I have only these things checked:

Open itunes when ipod is connected - verified

Sync only checked songs and videos-disabled

    manually manage music and videos-disabled

    Enable disk use-verified

  • Satellite Pro A300D-140 - graphic question

    Hi all

I wonder if someone can help me. I'm having a lot of problems with my new laptop at the moment, and I'm now about to re - format and reinstall Windows.
The question is this: when you browse the Web site with pictures or embedded videos, display struggles to scroll to the bottom and is very 'jerky' and slow. This happens in two & Firefox Internet Explorer.
Its not just web browsers that have the problem, Word, Excel etc. all I have this problem. I produce a lot of documents and sometimes necessary, scroll through them - and performance when you scroll is a joke!

I contacted ATI and they have washed their hands of this issue and refuse to do something.
I tried the latest drivers, the drivers supplied with the laptop, restored to the latest drivers, made an update of the BIOS, chipset update firmware, update driver processor etc... and nothing has worked! Have really no idea on how to move forward from this.

Any ideas / suggestions would be greatly appreciated - or if someone needs additional information, I'll check this thread.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3

    Thank you
    Dan Smith

I don't know if my advice can help, but you have the problem with the operating system preinstalled Toshiba?

You tried the latest drivers from Toshiba Web site or other sites?

As far as I know that the Satellite Pro A300D has Vista as an operating system. If you need to reinstall the operating system from the Toshiba recovery disc. There are all pilots understand.

  • Satellite P105 (PSPA6A-02N021) - recovery disc restarts during installation

    Hi all

I installed Windows 7 Build 7100 on my P105 and decided to go back to Windows XP.

When I try to use system provided with the laptop restore media, press F12, choose to start from the CD, and it starts at the virtual disk on the CD Image, enters the beginning of a GUI window and then restarts... It doesn't let me do the options of the menu real for the restoration of the system.

I used the restore disc successfully in the past. Is there another way to restore? But there is no recovery on the HARD drive partition.

I tried holding down the key '0', and from the laptop, but that does nothing.
    :(

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hello

Maybe your drive is scratchy, so it can t be read correctly. Did you check that?

I suggest formatting the disk HARD integer first alternative. I had a similar problem, and after formatting HARD drive while using a Microsoft disc, it worked!

Any body know how to get a new windows vista for the above laptop restore disc?

    Please hope somebody.

    Thnx.

Check to see if you can order it on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

If this isn't the case, you have a problem. By the way: Satellite P300/P300D works perfectly with Win7 32 bit, then maybe you should install has Win7 version using the Microsoft installation disc.

  • Re: Cannot connect - how can I fix the error "Bad Winlogon.exe - Image"?

Last night, my laptop did something weird. The screen is blue and it has conducted an audit. The audit was in three parts (that's all I remember) once this is done, my laptop back running and it worked very well.

Later that morning, he crashed and restarted, but when it comes to where he usually displays user logons, it came with an error message. The title was winlogon.exe - bad image
and the message describes how the file is incorrect.

Now, my laptop won't let connect me. How can I fix it?

It seems that the file system was corrupted unfortunately he touched one of the important files needed for windows to boot.

You will need a bootable CD to repair the problem for that I recommend Microsoft Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset, you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5D600369-0554-4595-8AB4-C34B2860E087&displaylang=en

Run the Setup program, go to the installation folder and burn "erd50.iso" as an image (not a data CD) file using software such as Nero.
Then you need to boot from the CD I do not know how it comes to your laptop so check the manual or change the boot order in BIOS whether it is the method as start the recovery disc.

When the software is loaded will ask that the Windows installation you want to repair if no disc i.e. C: is offered in the drop-down list, then you may need to change the BIOS setting regarding the AHCI mode, compatible and under tension when you are finished.
If drive C is visible then the hard drive is accessible, however, you must select "does not fix an installation of Windows." and click OK.

Click Start, then select "Command prompt", you will get a black box with white text.

type the following command and enter: chkdsk c: /f /r

This command will perform a full scan of your hard disk and correct any errors, he can find that could take up to 45 minutes depending on the size of your disk.
When he finished closing and restart your laptop without the CD in the drive, if you have changed the AHCI mode in the BIOS then change back.

If Windows still doesn't boot then boot from the CD again and restart "Command Prompt".

type the following command and enter:

    c:
    cd\windows\system32

If entered correctly your screen should display: C:\Windows\system32 >

type the following command and enter: (Note: the point is necessary and not a typo)

    Copy dllcache\winlogon.exe. /y

If all goes well you should see a message: 1 file (s) copied.

Stop the laptop restore all the BIOS settings and hopefully Windows will boot again normally. :)

  • How to re - install the software OS and Thinkpad after hardware upgrade?

I'm about to buy a SSD for my X 220.

My recovery partition is on my current hard drive, so instead of the backup and restore of the entire hard drive, (I make a smaller hard drive) I want to restore the system from the recovery partition (new installation).

How can I do? It works if I turn the internal hard drive externally using the attachment? But I think that it will not boot from that disk hard if I do that, then I don't know how to recover my OS X 220.

    Thank you.

    1. what, to buy a license? Do you have the ms COA sticker in the battery compartment?

    2. prepare the recovery media factory applet suitable the disk with Lenovo system preloaded. It could be the flash drive, 16 GB in size.

    3. it is possible to deploy two image .wim of partitions, one by one, Lenovo_Recovery on the drive target and its System_DRV and system parttions. But it also will some actions to set the parameters of the partitions.
